No start with app

I have a 2018 Stinger and for some reason I thought the UVO app would provide the option to start, unlock/lock, climate change and etc. it doesn’t and I was told I would have to pay 600 bucks to install the start option with a transmitter. I bought this car a month ago for this reason alone just so no one not even the Kia dealer I bought it from to tell me this wasn’t an option for an 18 model year car. On a newer car remote start and app services should be on a high end car as the Stinger GT. It would be nice for a update to be released for this issue. Now I’m stuck with a car that I was sold a lie on.

UVO App is Hyped IMHO

I have a 2014 Optima EX that came with a UVO capability. The salesman hyped its future functionality. After using it for a couple of years I figured that new features would be added, but the dealer said NO upgrades were available. The original features were relatively unsophisticated, redundant and therefore usless to me. But I expected to have future upgrades from Kia. Nada. Fast forward to ~ 5 years post-sale and it didn’t even want to do a basic sync anymore. Very frustrating. It always had a super slow syncing process. 😧 Without any software upgrades and without any dealer software support I finally just removed the UVO App from my iPhone. It seemed to have potential in 2014, but apparently Kia never intended to enhance it ... unless of course you want to buy a new 2021 Kia vehicle and start over. I suspect that software technology is just not who traditional car manufacturers are today and, indeed, cars will be designed & built by technology companies in the future who will just outsource the car building as hardware; or buy robots to build it in-house. 👍🏼

Need help !

So I have a UVO account registered and I even activated thought the car and when I tried to use this app it gave me instructions to finish the setup but when I got to the step, the step says to go to something that isn’t showing on my cars monitor which is kind of odd because I’ve been stuck on this page for the longest time. It tells me either to Bluetooth it or connect it via usb. So I do and attempt to get the last step but I can’t move forward. Help would be greatly appreciated! (I know this should be emailed but I want people to know if this ever happened to them)

No OBD codes is annoying

My car went through all this trouble to tell me I had an issue and sent diagnostics to my phone (I redownloaded the app because it has no functions that are worth keeping it on my phone) just to tell me that I should go to a dealer. So in reality is a was a long technical explanation to tell me my check engine light was on. Apples native map app keeps track of where you park, alerts you to traffic conditions. My maps outdated on my 2016 kia Forte but with all of the construction in Central Ohio it was useless when I got it. 150 bucks to get a new car map isn't worth it. I also can't uvo wirelessly. They had a chance to do something awesome but in the end its just a novelty selling point to uneducated buyers.

Remote Start?

The functions of the app right now are fine. The POI information, Vehicle Info, etc. are all fine. However, what I can’t understand (and maybe I can get a developer response on this) is why there is no remote for vehicles equipped with remote start? The Hyundai vehicles equipped with remote start have it through the BlueLink app, Genesis vehicles have it through the Genesis app, and the Kia K900 has it through the UVO luxe app. The tech is there, why not implement it? I would really love to be able to start my car with my phone, view the status of the locks and such (like on the BlueLink app) and so forth. Or maybe have a different app for the Kia remote start since it’s a dealer accessory? Would love an answer on this.

LOVE my 2018 Soul, but...

...this app has been a big disappointment. I had assumed the app would track my maintenance, alert me to schedule routine maintenance, keep a record of vehicle maintenance and performance - maybe even give me a layman’s view of system diagnostics. Nope. It’s so stupid, it doesn’t even know the service scheduleI paid for, nor is it aware of the routine service that’s been done. Given the excellence of the car in every other regard, INCLUDING electronics, I’m really surprised at how lame this is - I mean who would believe that in this day and age I’d still be depending on a window sticker to tell me when my next oil change is due? C’mon guys. In a world dripping with geek drool, this is embarrassing.

Update perhaps

To start love Kia, owned the Sorento and Barego and now kids are grown and decided to get sporty. I bought the Stinger and so far great car. I’m enjoying the features and remote start bought I thought with UVO app you should be able to the simple features like start vehicle, check if doors are locked in fact if possible maybe the developer can even program when your Bluetooth device connects the vehicle would even greet you, like Good day Mr or Mrs Kia today’s local weather is.. maybe I’m expecting too much just thought it seem easy. Maybe future updates would include simple things. Great vehicle and company.

Cool but not really 😔

I am a technology expert and love what I do. When I saw this car I was extremely excited. I purchased the Telluride EX version and I love the car however I’m disappointed with the application. When I was sold the car, one of the employees mentioned that I could remote start my car from the application. After purchasing the car, setting up the account, talking to the technology expert at Kia, I find out there is no feature like this available.A bit deceiving on the sales persons part If a car has remote start and boasts all of this technology, how could it not be controlled from the application? Is there a beta program I can join or is it on the works? I would gladly send Ui feedback if it’s something KIA is working on. The car is being delivered and I am picking it up tomorrow but now I’m having my doubts. I love this car but as a tech that was promised one thing and given another, it’s understandable someone would have doubts dropping $45,000 with all the features and warranty, accessories, etc.I still have to option to cancel the entire purchase but we’ll see if I get a response from the engineers or Marketing team that hopefully monitors these reviews and of course I’ll see the car after deliver at the pickup. Thank you KIA.

Disappointed! Add remote start and remote climate control

I just took delivery of a 2019 KIA Stinger GT2 (USA). I am a BMW conquest for KIA, something that I imagine that they were targeting with this model. Overall I am happy with the car, but I am very disappointed that remote start and remote climate control are not activated for USA vehicles. There is an app for the Canadian Stinger GT cars called UVO Intelligence. Please bring these features to USA models. I live in the northeast, and adding the above mentioned features would be very helpful.

App works great with car

I have a 2014 Kia soul with Apple Carplay and this app connects and works great. Sure, the design of it could be updated but it functions as designed and for a car from 2014, has a good amount of features. I do wish that there was a way to sync it through bluetooth instead of the USB cable since I have an insurance tracker in the OBD port, which the car has me remove in order to sync with the app every time. Other wise works well. -P.S. Updated support for iPhone X, XS, and XS Max would be great.
