Fairly terrible experience

I've recently hopped on the scooter bandwagon and, let me tell you, it's been an awesome experience thus far.I have, however, had less than ideal experiences with scoot. For instance, twice now I've attempted to unlock a scooter with scoot and have been stunned at how challenging the unlock button is. I'm addition, when attempting to park your scoot, if you're in a blocked off area (which the competitor scooter companies do not have) you'll start hearing a blaring alarm being set off, which is challenging to quiet. Third, they auto opt you into charging your credit card when your balance becomes low, which to me feels dishonest and shady.I initially began my rental for a scooter that wouldn't unlock, so I ended the ride, but I was charged a significant fee anyway because the ride apparently didn't end properly. On top of that, they auto charged my credit card to put in more money to scoot that I didn't intend (or was clearly made aware) to happen.Very frustrated with this service.

Great transportation

The future is here I’m 13 years old and I rode these scooters with my mom and I have to say they were spectacular! The battery life was great because it was at thirty percent and we rode for an hour and a half and it lost half the battery! I’m rating this 4 stars though because it is pretty expensive but at the same time worth it! This is very convenient for college student to get around faster and easier!

Scoot kick

My girlfriend scanned her scoot and was charging her and the app said we couldn’t cancel the ride because we needed to be in a park zone area but the thing was that we couldn’t even unlock the scoot in the first place so it charged her 5 bucks so what I did to help her was to have me scan it which I did and it canceled hers but then I was in her situation where it was charging me and couldn’t unlock the scoot and when trying to cancel it it wouldn’t because it asked to go to a park zone area but HOW if I can’t even unlock the scoot in the first place.

so many fails

I’ll start by saying the scooter was fun. Only problem is everything else about the experience left us soured. 2 confusing apps, we got completely through signup on apparently the wrong one from the same company. Ok on to the next one, looks like $1 to start, some amount of change per minute... sounds good. Wait so i have to buy in $5 increments?? Lame but ok we’re here to ride, hopefully it shuts off or tells me when my $5 runs out. Nope, and now i’m spending time in the app (while the clock is ticking) to figure out how much i’ve spent. Yeah there’s nothing and oh look now i’m into my next $5 and we got like up the street a little bit. Best description of this is like someone else said, CASH GRAB. Figure out how to care about your customers and you’ll be a little better off, but we out. Other companies were better in so many ways so guess who’s avoiding red colored rides now. I hope the extra cash you sucked out of us was worth the bad reviews. Sorry and good luck improving the experience, I know it’s a fresh industry.

Totally lame!

We got these scooters because we thought it would to be fun to use to get to lunch... but then the scooters shut down and then told us that we were out of service area! What? The app never told us that there was a service area! So we just wasted like 15 dollars and we had to bring them back to the service area or we would get a fine! If they would have told us that there was a service area it would have been fine but nothing! The app should immediately tell you about the service area! So lame!

Fiscally irresponsible to rent a kick scooter

I rented one and the battery ran out halfway to my destination, in the middle of a left turn. It became very difficult to push and started beeping for whatever reason. The cherry on top is that I was charged the entire time it was out of battery and difficult to maneuver. A electric bike, such as jump, costs a quarter of the price, is faster and more stable. I will never rent one of these again if I can help it, so I guess I will have a forever balance with scoot. I’m assuming they put my scoot balance into a money market account to accrue interest.

Assaults privacy and then crashes

This app is unfortunate. It requires access to bluetooth for completely no reason: what is the point if the ride needs to be started and stopped within the app anyway? Secondly they charge unthinkable 30¢ a minute. And they do charge you before they guide you about how to use the app or assault your privacy requesting access to bluetooth. App then does not allow to end the ride until you give up your privacy and enable bluetooth: it simply crashes. Lastly requiring 100mb download for an app that loads its content from the internet anyway is a shame.

Poor customer service

When contacted, scoot did not solve my problem and began to ignore my emails when asked how to leave a review on their service since I was very dissatisfied. I purchased the all day pass thinking I would be able to ride all day free and after my first ride on scoot it charged me an additional 30 dollars for the ride and the 20 for the day pass. I contacted them asking for a refund of the ride but said I drove too much for a refund after I explained I thought the day pass would cover it. Then I said alright I’m willing to compromise and then I asked for a refund for the day pass and they also said I can’t get a refund on it since I already rode with the day pass even though it wasn’t as advertised! They were not helpful or understanding. The day pass is confusing and not very clear that they will still charge you if you go longer than 30 min since there is no warning or alert during the ride and the scooter never shuts off or anything. An hour and a half scoot ride should NOT cost $50. I demand a refund!

Mediocrity on top of a team that cares about profits first

I’ve been a casual rider for a while and, despite the egregious pricing rate, it was a decent ride whenever I needed (whenever I could find a bike that wasn’t out of battery).I was informed (weeks later, mind you), that my last ride was not “properly parked” and that I was receiving a fine. They did not send me the picture that I took, so I have no way of confirming that this fine is justified. No warning, no reminder of rules, just slapping me in the face with a fine.Glad to know I don’t need to rely on SCOOT’s services any more.

Unable to park scooter at same spot it was unlocked at.

About 8 scooters were in the same spot locked up, and after the scooter was unlocked it couldn’t be locked up from the same exact location after a friend Unlocked one that had a mechanical issue and could be used. No ride was taken by me, and I had to walk it to a “park zone” (which wasn’t close), but was subsequently charged. Poor first experience, and have asked for my account to be deleted after not being contacted after leaving feedback in the app of my troubles.
