Bed CAD for iPad

This is exactly how an iPad CAD program should be. Unlike other options, this program is pretty good at figuring out what you’re trying to do without over aggressively auto ‘snapping’ elements together while still doing what you want it to. Sometimes it glitches a little bit with snapping walls at exterior corners, but I’d much rather have that than any of the other programs I’ve seen. This program is pretty full function, and I probably could use it exclusively. One complaint is price, especially that the ability to make takeoff sheets which comes with the most advanced package is very expensive and requires you to add products online. I get that it’s easier to make money where others are making money, but for a simple spreadsheet it doesn’t seem fair to double the price.

The fence industry has gotten a massive upgrade!

When I signed up for Arcsite, my goal was to be able to measure a customer’s property for fence, transpose those measurements to my IPad (or automatically with Moasure), and have a proposal put together and signed within 15 minutes or so. This has now become a reality! No more hand-written takeoffs or spreadsheets to mess with, duplicate data entry, or having to go back to the office to put together the estimate. This equates to a much higher likelihood of selling the project on the spot. Also, with the new margin/cost functionality you can be sure that projects are being estimated profitably every time. Their support staff is incredible, and they genuinely listen to feedback from their customers. To summarize, time is our most precious resource and Arcsite will return a significant amount of it back to your day.

Super easy to use

I am not a designer nor an architect or anyone who needs to use these sorts of software due to their profession. I was just a person who was looking for an app that could help me restructure my room. My room is a mess right now and I have a ton of furniture that are inefficiently positioned so I needed to make a change but just didn’t know how. I know nothing about designing a floor plan but boy did this app make it extremely easy for me. I needed to know if each type of furniture would fit in the spots I wanted it in and juggle with the structure and the app just made it so much easier for me to get creative. My room isn’t exactly a square shape because it has certain structural bumps(?) in each corner but that was no problem creating in the app. One thing that didn’t affect me but I think is worth mentioning would be the price of the app. I only needed this once, because restrucuring my room/house isn’t a regular thing so I did fine with the free trial, but the price does seem a bit too overpriced. Again, I don’t know anything about designing or architecturing so I wouldn’t know how much these types of apps normally cost, but even if I did, I’d be hesitant to keep using it just because of the price. All in all, I got everything I needed and I’m very satisfied with my new room. Thanks!

Love the ease of drawing, loathe their business practices

I’ve used ArcSite off & on for years…. Indeed, I was one of the first handful of users who were initially drawn (no pun intended) to the app for the simple fact that it allowed me (a design novice) to easily draw with precision that which I could imagine. I’m not a professional designer, architect or tradesperson. I rarely if ever derive any revenue through or from the drawings I create in this app. Yet, in order for me to have the privilege of accessing my drawings, I must pay HUNDREDS of dollars each year. I am PROHIBITED from downloading or otherwise archiving my work unless I fork over even MORE MONEY. I cant even move my work from my old 1st generation iPad Pro to a new iPad Pro without… (wait for it… can you guess?) paying their exorbitant ransom to do so. Every other reasonable app in the iOS universe allows for data back up to iCloud. Arcsite does not. again, they hold my files ransom for additional dollars above and beyond the basic license fee in order for me to transfer files. Who does that?

Most efficient estimate tool for contractors

ArcSite’s easy to use drawing tool enables you to create beautiful CAD drawings without the years of training required for Autocad or other complicated CAD software. I’ve never taken a CAD course in my life and I’m able to created a fully detailed scope of work with dimensions, doors, windows, shapes. That’s just the base level however, If you take the time to build it out, you can automatically calculate takeoff, and proposals that customers can sign while you are in front of them. Easily the best app for contractors to look more professional to their customers.

Kinda Pricey...

So I looked at all the other reviews and I thought that this would be a good app. I got the app and I was a bit disappointed. this app costs quite a bit of money to use. I understand that you need money to improve the app and for personal uses, but it is very expensive even for the lowest plan. I am giving you three stars because the app is pretty good, but some of us can’t get it because of the cost. Maybe you could make a graph of profits per price. The less the price the more people buy it. The higher the price the less people buy it but people will charge more. I’d say that with apps and games, a good price is the most affordable price. Affordable but profitable. If it costs too much you get bad reviews, plus it won’t become as popular because some people can’t get it. The lower the price the more people will get the app and cause it to become popular. It will also get you good reviews, too. I think that the best price would be free but with in-app purchases. This way people have a CHOICE to get features. It gets you money, good reviews, popularity, and more. This is probably the most beneficial way of improving your apps and games. I’m not saying I don’t like the app, I’m saying I think it could be improved.

ArcSite the site

I am a designer, and an estimator. ArcSite has officially solved the disconnect between infield measuring and CAD. I will be ecstatic to see ArcSite partner with PLOTT wheel To allow me to draw lines directly into ArcSite (much like Mausser) LMN Because you 2 were meant to be together, you compliment each other so well and please please let me know if I can assist you 2 on your first date. I’ll buy the drinks. LinkedIn Learning Because every serious design application should have 10 videos on Linked in Learning where people can go to find quick answers about the tools. Your target market are not only designers but they are people with zero design experience and they way to stop them from buying it for a month and discontinuing service is to give them Linked in Learning style. Your pen tool is fabulous, your bundles fabulous! Keep up the good work. Excited to be a part of ArcSite

This is the killer app for iPad+Pencil owners who do arch and site drawings

There is no other app in ArcSite’s league when it comes to making iPad drawings. FAR more intuitive than a full fledged CAD program on a computer. An unbelievably fast learning curve. The long full-featured trial period is enough to get you hooked, do some real work, and hopefully broaden the app’s user base. This is an app that literally every architect and contractor in the country should be using to work up quick field drawings for clients. It’s a real shame that the developers have to charge so much for the subscriptions. I hope they consider doing some testing of uptake at lower price-points, but that may be hard to do with the subscription model. I personally think this app would have very broad uptake at $5-$10 per month.

Great app. Nasty price

If this is your only CAD program and you can complete full drawing sets with it, you can justify the price, I suppose. However if you have a real CAD program that does 3D, automatic schedules, parametric objects, linked databases and a lot more this won’t be your only app. This will be what you might use for field measurements, setting up initial base plans, etc. when out of the office. That means using ArcSite but a few times per month, exporting data to your CAD program and moving forward in your main CAD system. The bottom line? This app’s subscription fees approach the cost of a full CAD program, yet have a much reduced feature set - never mind that it’s easier to prepare plans on a large screen workstation than an iPad. Professionals still need a full-featured CAD system, so for most professional designers ArcSite will be an but an add on for the foreseeable future, and a very pricey one at that. It’s a real shame there’s no “field” option at a more reasonable price for those who use this as a field tool instead of their only CAD system. It could cost less and be simpler, with just drawing, annotations and export tools. No takeoffs or even symbols needed since those would be done on the main system from integrated databases.

Nice App, But!!!!

I am a builder / designer and have been using Chief Architect for about 20 years. I was just looking for an app that would allow me to get out off the office. And be able to set and do a little pre design work. Then go to my cad software and draw the plans. The estimating and reports are of no value to me. It’s too bad you dont allow a more affordable way for part time drafting. I would really only use something like this a few times a year. So the price is over the top in my opinion. So I ended up getting Morpholio Trace at a fraction of the cost. I wish I could have a way to do dimensions but that’s not worth what your asking. You are getting close to real cad prices. But offering a stripped down version.
