Just Honestly Needs A Modern Update

Before I criticize, this is honestly the most helpful app if you are using anything tied to Straight-Talk wireless. Now the downfalls to the app are the dinosaur features. This app is in need of some modern updates. I’ve never visually seen an update to the app but I know there has been some bug fixes here and there. Your Wal-Mart though, and what we expect is nothing less than that. This app can be so much better, from simply just adding a feature of simplicity. Take a charge and fix these things, many of us, including me will definitely enjoy having this app take us to exactly where we need to go in a more timely and efficient manner. P.S. The web browser function should be taken out. It’s the cause of major lags. So I honestly suggest that you incorporate those features into the app and do it discretely

Much better options, customer service is a joke

We had a problem with the SIM card after spending 45 dollars on a prepaid package. The person at straight talk had no idea after an hour on the phone, the manager of electronics had no idea but acted as he did and referred us to some guy that had a kiosk in the store selling what we found out were overpriced, used phones. He was able to figure out the SIM card. We, throughout a week or two had three more calls with straight talk. They troubleshooted the same way as all previous, they did not listen to any relevant information we had to provide. After 4 collective hours on the phone with them giving us the runaround, we had enough and asked for our money back. As you could expect they said it wasn’t possible and told us to buy a new phone and they would “guarantee” it would work, with no actual guarantee. We asked for a refund, asked to send one of their “50 dollar phones,” and naturally, nothing but excuses and words of impossibility. They don’t have to have customer service, act like they care when they don’t, they’re generally not that bright and have no idea what they’re talking about even in regards to the product they represent. I recommend going with sprint or having a group plan to lower cost instead. This company is a bigger joke as a whole than their customer service branch.

Horrible Customer Service

Been a Straight Talk customer for a few years now (I’m in the process of ending that). Their service comes from roaming agreements with the big carriers. In our area, they roam on AT&T, but that varies with the areas that they have contracts. To say that the problem with Straight Talk is their customer service would be implying that they actually have customer service. What they have is outrageous wait times (I’ve been on the phone with them for nearly 6 hours today), incompetent people that barely speak English, and those people constantly tell you “I guarantee” that whatever they aren’t really doing will fix the issue that you’ve spent all night trying to get them to address. The line that I’m trying to get them to fix hasn’t worked for over 24 hours and started with a call several days ago to them, where that person gave me the wrong information (which I questioned at the time because I thought it was wrong but “I guarantee you that it’s correct.”). 24+ hours later, 6 hours on the phone with them (the bulk of which was on hold) and the phone STILL doesn’t work. On a final note, when you get fed up with them (you will if you ever have a reason to contact them), count losing your number when you switch carriers. That’s where this is currently heading for us. At this point, I regret ever getting involved with them and hate the company with a passion. Hate to say that as much as I used to tell people to go with them.

Great Service with multiple carriers

Really have good experience with customer service but seldomly if not at all do I need it if your having a problem with your service or signal and they say you wanna switch to another carrier straight talk and make that happen for you as long as you have a compatible device been with straight talk for a good while now and plan on staying longerSince I am strictly using AT&T because of the area that I live the only issue I have is the hotspot is not compatible with AT&T devices so essentially I’m paying for features that I can’t useYou might try to use it and yes it will work but it will take your data good for an emergency situation if you need to access the Internet on a mobile device Great customer service great support and great for someone that switches out devices as much as I do and back and forth and so on five stars thank you

Goodbye straight talk

My husband and I have been with this company for a while and yesterday was the worst. We had to call customer service several times because we kept getting different answer from each persons we talked to. After about 4 hours I finally had enough and talked to a supervisor who helped me. Why the call wasn’t escalated to someone who could help in the first place was beyond me. As soon asWe decide on another company we will be switching. Also to the developer no I do not wasn’t to call customer service to speak to you all again just to go around and around for hours never getting an issue fixed. You really need to look at your customer service because price is not everything. Loyal customers expect and want good customer service where issues are fixed and we don’t have to call back multiple times. Oh and one rep told me they have a call time limit yeah they couldn’t help me any more because their call time limit was up. And instead of transferring me to a supervisor they hung up. Nope you won’t change my mind you lost a customer and I would tell other people that until you get your customer service in order they should stay away from your company.

Where did my data go?

I just moved to an area that doesn’t have fiber optics yet (should be another month) so I’ve been using a strait talk hotspot since my strait talk phone doesn’t have a hot spot) we filled it with 5 gigs on Sunday night (didn’t use it ) Monday morning I logged in to my computer to work and after 10-15 minutes it was out of data. After a frustrating call to their no service center (where every one is a manager, so you don’t need to ask for anyone else🙄) they told me they would have to give it to someone else and they would call me back. Once they called back they realized the data had disappeared and reset it. I pulled up a couple emails and was done for the night. Tuesday morning I logged in, used it for about an hour and it disappeared again. Another frustrating 40 minutes on the phone with a “Manager “ who was waiting for HER call center to answer the phone and talk to her so she would have an answer for me🙄 and all she came up with was “We need to wait 24 hours to see where the data went” so now that 3 days I haven’t been able to work even though I just paid $50 for data. DONT GET THEIR HOTSPOT!!! It’s not worth it.

Customer service is trash

If I could give them a lower rating I would their customer service is absolute trash and half of them have no idea what you’re talking about. I changed to their app Because for some reason on their website I could not choose a plan to add time. So when I moved over to the app it worked and I could I had time for my phone. After a month or two now I am in the same place again and it won’t let me add time to my plan. Spent a lot of last night trying to get this fixed and was told that it was fixed and they reset my password so I could get back into my account. And ask if everything would be OK when I can get back in my account only to find out that I still couldn’t purchase a plan. Which brings us to this morning which I was on the call with another young lady and after going through every step that she already said she told me that she would put a ticket in for 24 to 48 hours for the issue to be fixed well guess what I won’t be able to call after that time. I only have one day of service left and they wasted my time again. I probably will not be using them after this. I have never use worst customer service in my entire life. And I don’t know how hard it is to understand I can add time to my plan it’s not a rocket science to fix your app.

Not worth it at all!

5 years ago I joined straight talk. Everything started great. I had connection everywhere. I had no issues. A year or two later everything went straight down hill. Not even down hill. It took a nose dive. When I went to refill my 30 days. Days on my refill would be missing. After a certain amount of time they are supposed to be able to unlock your sim allowing you to do what ever with the phone or join a new provider with the phone you paid full price upfront for. It was impossible to get ahold of some one to speak for for eight months! No one answers the phone and you’re always 90+ chat queue. Meaning 90 people are ahead of you to TRY to get ahold of some one. They flat out refused to unlock my sin after I had the phone for 5 years. I hadn’t even used a day of my very last refill and was refused a refund. That day I had already decided to switch providers. I do not regret switching. Straight talk is a complete joke. Start great, continue great. Don’t screw your customers. With the understanding that people where out for COVID for a while. This whole trying to get ahold of some one took place after everyone went back to work a places where 100% open. The “high call volume” at this point is an excuse. Either that or straight talk has some serious issues and everyone is trying to get it fixed. Personally I would save your time and money and pick a different provider. Like I said I had used the for 5 YEARS. Please for your sake and sanity avoid!!

Definitely not “Conmitted to supporting” their customers

First, the app is very limited. Everything opens your browser to their webpage so it makes the app almost pointless. Most importantly the service all around is bad. Reception is terrible, lapse time in network after adding a new plan is ridiculous and they expect you to sit on a different working phone (as there’s no network on daily phone) for extremely long time frames while they sort through the issues, and worst fault I have experienced thus far is they offer very limited options for financial variations. They claim they are committed to supporting their customers - just not all of them. For example, customers such as myself who meet the requirements for free or discounted service but fall through the cracks because safelink isn’t available in my area. Maybe straight talk can’t control safelinks coverage area but they do control with whom and/or how many programs, entities, etc., they partner with. Committed equals ensuring no customers left behind. That is not what’s happening with straight talk.

Junk!!! 😡😷

Update: After my initial review I received an email from Frank directing me to a link to chat support to make things right. My initial to response after reading it was to trash it because it probably was another waste of time and effort and probably still wouldn’t get me nowhere. I thought better of it and gave it a shot anyway because I’m paying for a service that I can’t use and this has been going on for at least a year and now I have a new laptop I can’t connect my hotspot I’m paying for to. I followed Frank’s advice and link he provided to relive this nightmare again and was stopped dead in my tracks again. Now Fredy kept me staring at the screen waiting and waiting to finally tell me there’s nothing there anyone can do about the issues I’m having to call on a different phone and he couldn’t find no notes from Frank in reference to why I was there nor did he seem the slightest bit interested in making something right! 😡😡 This is totally insane!! I kid you not I’m not spending another dime on this trashy service as of the next billing cycle these clowns has got to go and guess what? I’m taking my husbands service with me too and don’t waste your time trying to stop me!! And thanks Frank for once again wasting my time! 🙄😡🤮
