Criminals

I live in alone in an 900 square foot home I recently purchased in New Orleans, I am not home much and my house is entirely energy efficient, equipped with all LED lighting, no natural gas service, and minimal electric use. I recently received a bill from Entergy claiming that I have used $320 worth of power, caught off guard by this outrageous claim I decided to contact Entergy, after being on hold for over an hour I was given no answers, after some research and speaking to a friend who works for Entergy, I was told that the citizens of New Orleans are being charged for Hurricane Ida damages even though Entergy is fully insured and to top it off supposedly their CEO just received a four million dollar raise, for me to use as much electricity as I was charged for with my minimal usage in this tiny house is practically impossible. The corrupt New Orleans utility monopoly needs to end

Not a Great App…

Since Entergy came out with their new and revised app about 2 years ago, I have never been able to change my password. Initially, I changed it and it worked one time, but never again after that. After calling the company ( and being place on hold for about 25 minutes), I was always told it was fixed now, but never was. I’m frustrated by it so I gave up. It’s a shame because the old app worked just fine.

Extortion ring playing corporation+tax fraud

So turns out this company has been putting ghost charges on peoples bills in Lou of anywhere from 60 to a couple hundred dollars and basically demands that they pay them the money or they get their power shut off. I’ve been going around with them and they have refused to respond to me in anyway, they have blocked my emails. They do give me phone calls whenever the city of New Orleans basically forces them to but they block their numbers so if I missed the call I can’t respond. I’ve got a State investigation going on on my account right now because are threatening to turn off my power on Monday if I don’t pay them an extra hundred dollars that is not even on my bill. I am being blackmail and extorted I have been forced to open an investigation with the city of Louisiana. I’ve also been forced to report them to the FBI and the IRS because if the money is not being recorded then that means this is massive tax fraud. They are basically holding the city of New Orleans hostage and threatening low income families with cutting their power if they don’t pay Entergy whatever money they demand. This is an extortion ring posing as a corporation.

Too many failures

I actually did the surveys when this app was being developed. It all looked great on the surface, but after having it running for over a year now, it is pathetic. The usage never works properly. It’s not accurate, and customers are getting very angry. The usage charts never account for fuel adjustment fees(which are through the roof) or the storm charges that this company steals from its customers to pay for THEIR equipment. It’s evil, and it should be illegal. If I lost my insurance on my home, I couldn’t charge ANYONE for damages. I would have to pay out of pocket like everyone else. Entergy is raking the common person dry of everything they have. I pray for Entergy’s demise! Evil, evil company!!

Entergy is a rip-off

They just keep charging what I don’t use every month. They will say they’re sending someone to check my meter. I never see anyone comes in to check it. Also when I call to complain their representative always speak rudely, no customer etiquette at all from them. I don’t understand maybe that’s the way their trained. My experience with Entergy since have been with them is POOR!!! If there is different electricity in New Orleans I would have switch to them. Rude customer service, poor Entergy electricity charges. I am so frustrated with their service. Safe yourself stress, if you know any other company go with them.

Did not receive a “paperless” bill

UPDATE: Entergy MS is a*%! We had one literal puff of strong wind and we’ve been in the dark for more than 2 hours. In this area, we’re accustomed to hurricane force winds WITHOUT losing power, but the last few thundershowers…lights go out IMMEDIATELY. The last time it took 6 hours to restore. This time they won’t give an estimated time for restoration. I mean…hurricane Ida…the lights didn’t even flicker but today, a 45 mph wind gust blew thru here and 1300 of us are sitting around looking crazy.UPDATE: I SURE WISH SOMEONE WOULD FIX THE FREAKING APP. I AM NOT RECEIVING A BILL! IF YOU ARE UNABLE TO FULFILL YOUR OFFERING OF A PAPERLESS BILL, MINIMALLY, YOU COULD HAVE THE DECENCY TO MAIL CUSTOMERS A PAPER BILL. IT IS OUTRAGEOUS THAT YOU HAVE TO REMEMBER TO GO PAY A BILL FOR WHICH YOU’VE RECEIVED NO NOTICE. YOU JUST HAVE TO RANDOMLY SIGN INTO THE ACCOUNT AND SURPRISE!…THERE’S A BALANCE DUE. I’m signed up to receive paperless bills. I just realized that it’s been a while (more than a month) since I paid my last bill, so I signed into my account and sure enough, I have a balance. I received no notification of a bill, no billing statement…nothing. If you cannot guarantee paperless bills, you should not offer the option. The new upgraded hot pink app has been nothing but trouble.

Unreliable Information

During a power outage today, Entergy incorrectly told me that my power had been restored. When I tried to report the outage through the app, Entergy told me that my power was on. Why do I even report it if you won’t believe me? During this episode, the outage map was wrong. I can only think that this was done intentionally to make it look like a little rain didn’t knock out power to all of Uptown New Orleans. For a while, both the app and website were unavailable for me to pay my bill because they’re undergoing “routine maintenance.” The app is often unavailable because of routine maintenance. If Entergy performed that much maintenance, the app should work. Why in the world would Entergy make the app and website unavailable at the same time? They should spend more time and money upgrading the power grid, instead of tinkering with an app.

Latest version no longer showing daily use

Since the update to 3.24.0 the daily usage graph and individual hourly breakdown is totally blank for the days since installing it. The projected bill continues to change but there’s no way now of seeing usage.Updated after developer response: That kind of makes it totally useless if we can’t see the information we are seeking. Especially at a time when energy costs are through the roof and customers are encountering historic high billing. Combine that with the fact the figure shown as total to date consumed in this billing period on the estimate is drastically different from what I calculate it will be when subtracting last month’s meter reading (as visible on my bill) from the current total visible on the meter and I obviously will have yet another surprise massive bill. The PSC needs to appoint oversight to get this mess under control.

You guys are awesome

This apps great and all but Entergy as a whole deserves some serious recognition for simply being an excellent company.. I can’t think of single interaction with customer service that wasn’t above and beyond expectations, they are always nice, helpful, quick and informative. On the rare occasion I lose power, even in extreme conditions like today with the winter storm hammering NE Arkansas, I’m notified immediately and have power restored within the hour.. With all the political bull here lately I just wanted to say Thank Y’all, yal truly are under appreciated..

Where is my account?

I know this is COVID CULTURE but no one still answers the phone. Ever. Also i get a text on my phone which would be great except I have 3 accounts so it automatically goes to the two other accounts that are on my account but are not even active. I always have to go off the app and go online to the website to pay. My app apparently will only allow two accounts to be linked at a time even if both are inactive. Theyadd account never works by putting my address in and says it can’t find that account even though I get text messages with this account and address. I wish they had tech help but no one is available or choose to answer the phones.
