Phone fraud

Recently I received a phone call claiming they were DCU. They claimed someone was trying to get in my account. I did not give them my account number, password or pin, yet they were able to get into my account. After the call I called DCU to check the legitimacy of the call and they said it was not DCU but a fraudulent call. We then proceeded to create a new pin and passcode. In the mean time we found out they had already tried to send money from my account and attach a wall mart credit card to my account. The DCU representative assisted me in deleting these transactions. Why were they able to so easily get into my account without my password and pin? Presently I live in constant fear now that I will loose all my savings. , if not more.

Worse than Old App

Ever since the update, I am not able to add the quick balances to my widgets on my iPhone like I could before. I was able to quickly check my balances by just swiping over to my widgets on my screen before making a purchase, but now I have to actually go to my app and log in and wait for it to load (ridiculously slow) before knowing how much I have. I can’t quickly make a transfer like before either and they have you set a date for the transfer to go through? They even have a message that if it’s after a certain time it may not go through which was never the case on the old app. I could do a quick one time transfer in the middle of the night if I wanted to and it would be fine. On top of that they’ve removed the travel notifications from the app so I no longer am able to set a travel notification without calling or emailing. Downside to this, I have to wait on hold for an hour OR email and wait TWO DAYS for a confirmation. I don’t think removing helpful features is the best way to make the app better and make banking easier for members. No one wants to go to a branch or wait on hold if they don’t have to.Update: I ended up finding the travel notifications after posting this so ignore that part lol

Seems to work okay

I didn’t mind the old app because I got used to it but it is nice have a modern looking app now but I have complaints. Just to make a transfer you have to go through like 5 different screens which is just annoying. When you load up the app it opens in a savings goal and not your actual bank account, you have to click the tab at the bottom just to see your bank account. It doesn’t sound like a big problem but it gets really annoying. Also they NEED to make a widget for this app, it was super convenient having one because I can check all my info just by swiping over on my Lock Screen. Everything else seems decent and I like how you can add external accounts now. But they don’t even have a Coinbase option which doesn’t make any sense to me. Hopefully they’ll add it soon. I’m really giving it 3 stars because of it not having a widget, it was my favorite part about the old app and I was assuming they’d have it on the new one since widgets have been out for years…. Guess not.

My family and I have been banking with Dcu for 10+ years. During that time we have purchased vehicles, our home and put two daughters through college. We recommend banking with them on the basis they are extremely family friendly. My daughters first accounts were connected to ours through Dcu and as they got older they had the where with all and understanding of resources available and banking processes. We thank DCU for their continued dedication and reliability to our family .

Great Experience

Been using your services I believe getting close to 40 years. I’ve always gotten amazing services when I’ve reached out to Customer Service, applying for loans and even referring my children. Also, security has been on the ball in alerting us and or stopping frauds. Ive appreciated the simple process that we always had. Hoping it stays this way. I’ve been very happy and satisfied throughout these years and hope to continue using your services.

Transfer limits

Your app is very easy to use. The only issue I’ve had so far was when trying to transfer funds from another institution. Initially I couldn’t transfer amounts without it telling me the amounts were too high - even $200 at one point. Now it lets me transfer $500 but I still don’t know what the max transfer limit is.

Good bank, Very poor software

Since DCU changed over their software in March 2022 things have been a disaster. They did not get user feedback before switching the software, did not user test before the change, the change took 2 weeks of no access (on the 1st of the month, bill due times), and was missing key functionality when launched. They continue to not test before frequent updates to both this mobile app and the web based interface.Tax forms were missing for long periods at tax time and still have issues.Account statements were missing for months and some still are.Automatic transfers sometimes are not completed. The bill payer function does not always work with scheduled payments not being sent. You can’t type a $ or . or , or / or - or anything except a letter in a memo field making it hard to note what checks and transfers are for. There is much more and I could go on,but you get the idea of how bad it is!

A couple more things to work on.

This new UI implentation is generally good. It is nice to have a UI consistency between the mobile and web and the new UI is cleaner, although it uses more screen real estate than the old one. Here are a couple of things that still need attention.1. Scanned images of checks in the mobile app are not zoomable. They should be, as they are impossible to read otherwise.2. The list of billers in Billpayer places the nickname underneath the official name of the biller. Often the nickname is truncated. The reason for nicknames is to be able to find things quickly, and I would suggest that if the user specified a nickname it should be placed at the top of the biller entry rather than the bottom. That would make it much easier to determine, say which Visa card the biller panel refers to. (Some users may have more than or joint account holders might each have their own).

Intolerable app and response from DCU

I have been a member since 11/83, but all good things must come to an end, I suppose. Before this app was released I tried, in vain, to get in touch with the project manager to consult regarding non-visual accessibility concerns. I was told that “everything will be fine” “we included accessibility in the contract” “I’m sure those things are being included”. Bottom line: The app, as I suspected is an accessibility nightmare! Everything I was concerned about has happened. I now have significant difficulty paying bills, deleting already scheduled amounts, and calling does not help. I will be closing out all of my accounts as soon as I can make the necessary arrangements with a local credit union. This is sad, as DCU has been a cornerstone for me for all of these years. The previous app was not broken, but this one is irreparable. BTW, I am an accessibility consultant and offered my services free to DCU and was totally rejected. I am tired of the long wait times, and/or waiting up to 4 hours for a return call. DCU is not responsive to members, anymore, and I expect will go the way of the company it used to serve.

App is slow

The app has been very slow and it’s impossible to scroll through transactions without it popping back up to the top of the list every time you scroll down. Whenever I transfer money or do any task it takes 2-3 mins and sometimes cannot complete the transaction and I have to start all over again. Also would like to be able to see scheduled payments. I can’t see if I scheduled my credit card or car payment and it will let you double schedule payments.
