Great Game and Great Developer

I’ve been playing this on PC for months and am SO excited to finally have an IOS version. I watched the developer stream this with his mother a few weeks ago and love to see how he clearly cares about the game. It only gets better and the patches and balance checks keep the meta fluid enough to keep coming back for more. The mechanics are simple and you can literally play for hundreds of hours without buying the extra decks (I only bought pack 2 so that I could play around with the other animals and try to get all of the accomplishments.) There aren’t any hidden fees or “pay to win” mechanics at play. No ads either at this time of writing 😊Thanks to Teamwood Games for my comfort app!

A game that could be fun

This game used to be fun, before the developers installed the algorithm that currently rules the meta. Either you figure out and play exactly the way the algorithm wants you to, or your team gets pitted against the exact comp that perfectly counter you. Every. Time. I’ve played over 1000 games and have tested this inside and out. I’m not sure if spending habits are involved with the way this algorithm works, but it’s truly sad that the developers took basically all of what made this game fun, out of the game. I’ve watched the same thing happen to basically every popular auto chess game, but more specifically TFT. I imagine it as an attempt to create a game that is more skill based than luck based. Confining players by forcing them to draft “correctly” is such a poor way to do this though. It leaves out any room for creativity and turns an otherwise fun experience into one of the most frustrating things you’ll spend your time doing.

Extremely Luck Reliant

I definitely recommend this game unless you’re like meI mean this game obviously relies on luck with abilities & rolls but as someone who has awful luck I can’t play this. I’ve spent more than a week in total playing & have won once. I also always goes against the good old cheesy strategy of elephant (with garlic), camel (with garlic), hippo (with melon armor). I’m not blaming this on the creator but if your luck is as awful as mine when it comes to things like these, I don’t recommend it.Bit of stats for ya:73 hippo teams faced on a row since he becomes available in the game (meaning turn three[?] since you can get a tier 3 there)49 missed ant buffs (meaning the ant hit the only animal that didn’t matter if it got buffed or not. Didn’t break the streak ever & this started the first time I opened the game. I uninstalled now but I do recommend the game)71 missed mosquito shots. (Same concept as ant, hit the only one that didn’t matter if it got hit or not)39 missed otter buffs (this is actually the only streak that was broken thankfully. Oh the hippo one too I guess.)Got no consistent build rolls. (I would get a turkey, a seal, a crawfish (or the guy that gives one health to a random friend when friend is sold), a hippo, & a mouse. No consistency.Whenever I’d go for one specific build, suddenly I’d get everything for every other build so it was impossible to make effective teams who synergised.)

You don’t deserve this

I have never played a mobile that was able to pull my attention for hours on end. This game deserves the utmost love possible. It has so many possibilities, and near endless possible games, with the same animals and rules. It reminds of something the likes of a triple A budget game in development for 6 years, in the form of a quick, fun size mobile game. Mind you, this game is FREE. I will give one warning, if you have any general life responsibilities, such as; trash duty, cleaning, work, childcare, or even personal care, be prepared to drop all of them on a 5 hour SUPER AUTO PETS BINGE. I wish you the best rolls in your auto journey.

Started amazing!

But update after update the core of the game has been made worse and worse! It used to be a well composed team with a bit of luck could beat the inevitable god spawn teams of the deep late game. But, as each update passes the devs seem dead set on making that an impossibility. Spawn teams are the only teams not to be slammed by updates as everything else is. I purchased the first add ons to the game but have since refused to spend any more money due to the gutting of the core game itself. Let’s not forget the devs have refused to add anything else in the game that can be earned through in game currency for how long now…… I have well over 100,000 points in in game currency with nothing to use it on and with each update I’m hopeful for something new but all we get is changes that are infuriating and new things to buy with real world currency. Good job devs! You started with a much needed crowd pleaser and turned it into the same thing we see over and over in the App Store!

My favorite game rn🦍🦍

This easy to learn, hard to master auto-battler is absolutely stunning! Adorable pets and simple mechanics make for endless possibilities that truly blew me away. From the highs of a ten-win team in Arena mode to losing to a honey badger on lethal, this game doesn’t require any familiarity or past enjoyment of the auto-battler genre to be enjoyable or even addicting. All of my friends are loving SAP so far. This is my current obsession, putting to shame my PS5 and PC setup with amazing game mechanics. The fact that I can now play this on iPhone/iPad is nothing short of incredible, thank you Team Wood Games!

NOT a strategy game!

This game masquerades as a strategy game when it is actually about 20% strategy and 80% purely an RNG game of luck. There is a bit of strategy involved with how you arrange your units, I will give it that, but the rest is solely up to the algorithm RNG gods smiling upon you in giving you the units you’ve chosen to go with. More often however it will not give you what units you’re looking for. You have to play whatever units the shop chooses to throw at you and you will have a better chance with that strat rather than hoping to get the ones you really want. If you keep rolling for a certain unit you’re looking for, you most likely will not see it so play what it gives you as you have zero control over that where as a true strategy game you have a lot more control over the units you’ve chosen to play. Out of 1,022 games played I’ve one 29. That’s about a 3% win rate if you do the math. While other players do have a better win rate I’ve read from a lot of people that there’s is worth than that. Fun at times if you get good units, otherwise you will be more often just frustrated to no end wanting to smash your phone to pieces!

Good game, but it could use some things to make it more fun.

The game itself is pretty good, the strategies involved with the gameplay makes the game interesting for sure along with the art style. I’ve bought the 2nd pack on the app and it adds a lot more variety and new strategies to the game which is good. Some things that could be added to give the game more flare would be to make the versus interface especially for private games have more options. It’s good that you can change the amount of lives lost, how many you start with, etc but I would add an option to remove certain animals from play to sort of shut down some pathways for some strategies and have players think of another path that may get them victory. The shop could have more variety as well, whats on there already is fine but again more styles that you can choose from would make the game more fun in my opinion.

Awesome way to spend hours on end, but…

I really enjoy this game for its fast pace, intricacies and strategy involved. Found this from a certain streamer and have spent tons of my free time, and not so free time, playing already. My only caveat for the mobile version is failure to open. Often times if you play the game and lock your phone or change apps then open the app back up the game just refuses to connect to servers. This also randomly happens after closing the game and trying to open it later, giving a long error message and failing to connect. Not sure how many people experience this as well but once the performance is optimized in regard to this the game will be perfect in my eyes!

The best free-to-play game of the year, hands down.

I’ve already spent a good 40, maybe 50 hours on the PC version of this game, & I can proudly say it’s taken up a majority of my time for the better. There’s something so relaxing about this game that I’ve never experienced before. The mechanics are so simple to pick up yet take awhile to master. I find myself discovering new strategies every day, and it’s addicting after a match to just keep on going. I would definitely put this in my top ten games, maybe even top five of all time. The developers are incredible at listening to their fanbase and keeping the game up to date and balanced. Even if you’re new to the realm of auto battlers, or if you’ve never played a game like this before, I would highly recommend giving it a go. Before you know it, all you’ll be thinking about is getting that level 3 sloth win.
