Culling AP

I thought it would scan files etc. then ask to delete copies or not. I’m having to manually click each picture then hit delete. I can do that with the phone. Help? Thanks

DO NOT SIGN UP!!!!

There is NO WAY to cancel the subscription!! I have looked at every setting and there is no way to cancel. I’m not sure how to even deal with this.

No way to cancel trial

I picked the free option which said you had a 7 day trial. I checked under subscriptions and nothing was there. The app acted like the free version. Deleted app. Please verify that I will not be charged.

Major FAIL

72,000+ photos on my #iPhone13ProMax and app couldn’t display a single photo. I certainly expected something a lot better from Canon. Immediately cancelled my Free Trial. This app needs to go back to the developers.

No instructions, doesn’t know what “similar” and “best” mean

This app provides no real information about how to use it. The opening tutorial tries to explain what the 2 modes are, but doesn’t tell you anything about how the interface works. You’re left to guess - and the fact that it’s buggy (analyzing 2 photos when I’ve selected 3, for example) doesn’t help.On top of that, the “similar” feature doesn’t seem to work. If you give it a block of 40 photos in the same location with 5 different poses and 8 different expressions, it’ll divide them into 2-3 groups of “extremely similar” pics (each containing photos that are obviously *very* different from each other) and pick one from each group to keep - and they may not actually be the best ones. If you actually care about keeping quality pics, don’t trust this app.

Very useful concept, not ready for prime time.

I have a lot of photos. Many of the photos are artsy-fartsy repeat of compositions and scenery, so it would be great to have aprogram like this analyze for things like similarity, sharpness, another hocus-pocus algorithms. In small batches or up to 500 wherein I know there are very similar photographs, it’s not finding anything and obviously not helping me to make these painful (hahah) decisions.Additionally, it’s hung up a couple times in my ten attempts where I had to quit the app and restart. And finally, only 500 photos in a batch? Plus, it only batches the most recent photos as far as I can tell, so this permutation of the app is not really useful for me with 50,000 photos on my phone.

Doesn’t Cull Photos Already Stored in iCloud or Google Photos

This app seems useful, but it compares photos of ‘similar’ subject that might be many pictures of a child or other frequently photographed subject, even if the photos vary considerably in what’s happening. More importantly, it doesn’t appear to have a means of culling similar photos already stored in Cloud services (iCloud or Google Photos) at least as far as I can determine. In summary I guess it could help going forward, but not going backwards (through your already uploaded pictures). I would give it a higher rating if it did.

Is this a joke?! I never write reviews and this may be my first one ever.

So we are very clear on this... this app does absolutely nothing lol. I am being serious. The app wants to charge me a monthly fee to show me my pics in my phone? I can already see my pics in the photo app. This is a joke right. lol. This is not AI. This is a scam to get subscribers. All it did was show me my photos. Absolutely same view as my photo app does for free. If I am not understanding something about it then it must be that poorly written that I don’t see the point. lol. Just download free 3 day trial and then cancel subscription fee right away and see for yourself. If I am wrong will someone please explain what the app actual does lol. By the way I read about the app in an article in Wired. I am really sad that they mention an app that charged a fee like this for a scam service. Even Wired magazine going downhill 😔

Poorly ‘executed’

Have waited a long time for a company to fill this need and this is another dud in many ways. Odd name for a wildlife loving customer base.... Culling (noun): reduction of a wild animal population by selective slaughter. The app loads to a screen that appears to be frozen but it is apparently ‘culling’. That screen doesn’t have any ‘processing’ motion or feedback and lasts until I’m sure it’s broken and returns every time I click away. When it finishes it has run a report that doesn’t appear to give any kind of list to be reduced. Rather you can click into each picture and see a rating for selective slaughter. (Each 100,000 in my case lol). Example rating of an accidental all black photo in my my pocket: ‘49% Sharpness / 4% Noise’ - this should be a 0% and put into a pen cull. Previous comment incorrect about the mobile pics only requirement, just has to be a jpg or native phone format, no raw file support is a bummer though. Why isn’t this a desktop app? Looking forward to a version 2
