Shipping takes a REALLY long time.

We really liked the app (and still do), but definitely have a desire for faster shipping. Our order was processed over two weeks ago and the album is no where near arriving at our doorstep. Per the tracking info, it sits at each location for 3-5 days. Hoping to receive the album be the end of the month at this point.

Simple !

So nice to have a photo app that is simple to make a photo book. Easy to use. My only concern will be if the binding will allow the photos towards the center to be viewable. Thank you for having an uncluttered app.

Poor packaging, damaged product, no customer service

BUYER BEWARE. I created a huge hardcover photo book in one order and the same day created another large book (soft cover). The two orders were close to $600 in value. Even though they were separate orders, both 11x14 books were crammed into a makeshift box, which was really just cardboard and tape. The packaging was horrible and the books arrived bent and had been affected by either water or humidity. The hardcover is actually bent with a cracked cover and the pages within are all messed up. I’ve emailed them pictures of the packaging and pictures of the damaged books. I’ve emailed twice to ask for a new copy. I e gotten nothing but an automated email response and no follow up after 6 days. With everything being digital, this should be as simple as a reprint replacement. UNACCEPTABLE. I will not order again, there are better companies to choose from.

Super easy and stunning

Two books down and both came out beautiful. Journi does most of the layout work and I find it very easy to revise. The modern look is what’s needed to fill in the gap for those of us that used to put together photo albums from prints - you just want to see the beautiful pictures you took. That’s what this app makes easy. Working on my third book now.

The best

Started using Journi 3 years ago to make a memory photo book as a Christmas present. It’s so easy to use, literally takes 15 mins and my favorite part is it automatically adds a location map. Books always arrive on time and are well worth it. Highly, highly recommend the Journi app/ company!

There are better options

I have been trying a lot of photo book companies and thought this would be a neat alternative - The maps (what seems to be this company’s differentiator?) are OK but really just google maps and aren’t all that pretty in the book when printed. You could format your own google maps and screenshot for a book easily. The price even with a coupon is very high. Quality is middle of the road, nothing amazing but also not bad at all. The book arrived quickly which I appreciated. I think I would pass on making another with this app but did find it very easy to use.

Love the mapping

I was looking for a way to print all the photos that I have in my phone so I decided to try this app. At first I didn’t know what to expect but I have to say that the quality of the soft cover books are amazing. I did try other apps but this one for me is the best by far. It’s east to use and I love having my memories in a book.

Incredibly Helpful Staff

Today I made my first book with Journi! The staff was personable and friendly. I have made many books in the past, but this was the first time making one with an app and I’m really looking forward to receiving the finished product!

No access to shared albums continues to be a deal-breaker

August 2023… another update, and still no way to access iCloud Shared Albums. Journi GmbH *really* needs to provide a way to use the standard iOS “photo picker” so we can access photos in shared albums!! (Please?!) When we get together for a group event, everybody puts their favorite photos into a shared album, and those albums are inaccessible with Journi! I know they have their own “shared photos” solution that they think is sufficient, BUT IT’S NOT. (People don’t want to deal with other apps and “special instructions”.) It’s enough of a challenge to get folks to add photos to an iCloud shared album (and that only takes a few taps!) Other apps on the App Store *do* allow access to shared albums, so it’s NOT a technical limitation. There have been lots of updates to the app in the years since I initially mentioned this but it continues to be ignored. 😢
