OK but needs features

You can quickly make and preview a simple photo book with this app. It doesn’t allow you to edit photos in the app but will update the book layout with edits you make in your photo app — it just takes a lot of switching back and forth for tweaks. It needs some features, like being able to edit the size of the book (for example from 7x7 to 5x5) after it’s started, copy a complete layout to a new book project to edit or expand it, create simple collage page layouts, or undo an edit (like if you accidentally reformat all your pages).

It’s ok

My only complaint is, I save almost ALL of my pictures on my computer, I really wish there was an app or something to be able to use it on my laptop or desktop. Especially since I photoshop and edit on my laptop. But the fact that I can only use it on my phone or iPad is extremely discouraging so I end up going with other photobooks. I really hope they do something about this and not just ignore MANY peoples comments about this issue.

Mostly worthless

As creatively sophisticated as their website is, this app falls way short of what it should be. In an age where people are going away from using desktops to create publications like zines in various sizes, the two limited choices with this app and the pricing for them is unacceptable. I am a photographer and I am able to do everything I need on an ipad pro from an editing standpoint, and I should be able to create and publish effectively on that platform as well. Blurb needs to catch up to the times and quick before someone else beats them to it.

Worst app ever

I’m trying to connect to Flickr so I can upload some pictures for a book. There’s no options, nothing. I get the option to pick two sizes and then a blank screen. It’s incredibly frustrating when everything I read says use blurb. Also I do everything over the cell network. I don’t have wifi and don’t live near wifi. This is 2021, your app should be able to handle the cell network or not have a cell phone app. Don’t waste everyone’s time with an app if it doesn’t work.

Very limited functionality

Only two book sizes, no layout options, and a limit of 80 photos per book make this app completely useless to me. I wanted to use this to make a book of my 365 project, but that is not possible with the limited functionality and options available. Blurb’s desktop based program is by far superior, but I really don’t want to have to dig out my antiquated laptop to make this photobook, so I will be looking into other options. Blurb, your lack of a fully functional app for the iPad is loosing you business.

I’ve been using Blurb for 10 yrs and now I have to find something else.

For ten years, I’ve been printing photo books through Blurb using Lightroom’s book module. Life changes, needs change, etc. This year I switched to using only an iPad and there is no book module in the mobile version of Lightroom. I have been so discouraged to see that this app only allows two size options, which means that my books can no longer be consistent. For a decade I’ve been printing 10x8 landscape sized books and now I can only choose a 7x7 or 5x5, neither of which are large enough to really display my photos well. I’m so disappointed. I thought maybe I could just go to the Blurb website and design my book there, all online, only to find that they have no iPad support! You can only do it via Mac or PC though a downloaded app which is not available in the App Store. This is hugely discouraging to me. I have been a loyal customer for 10 years and now I’ll have to find another option. Seriously, in 2021 there should absolutely be more options for creating a Blurb book via iPad.

Fantastic Company-Excellent Quality Work

This is my 3rd time assembling a book with Blurb. Each experience has been wonderful. My first book I purchased 60+ copies-A 60 year history of the Pacific Grove, CA Rotary Club. My 2nd was a revision to simplify the first book. My 3rd I just ordered about a family vacation. I am currently working on ‘The 70 Year History of the PG Rotary Club’-an update to current times. I have been so pleased that this company still exists & I can download my old book in order to add add more 10 years of ‘good deeds by this club’.

Horrendous non-optional ruinous logo on the back.

After spending a few days with this app, I was initially thrilled at the ease of navigating it as opposed to using Bookwright, which is far more complex. This review however is for the one thing no one else mentions, which is a personal peeve - I want to sell these to customers, as a professional collection of my art -but you have permanently blobbed the back cover with your unattractive BLURB logo. It looks ridiculous, and while I understand you’d like me to advertise for you gratis, I find it insulting that I am paying you to exploit your brand. You could at least offer the option of removing your logo- these books are pricey, and I’m getting no break to compromise my aesthetics. Most chapped at this annoyance and your presumption.

Not that great

It’s very hard to add new photos to albums you’re working on. So hard that I haven’t found a way to do it unless I back out completely and go. Back into the book. Once you initially add photos there’s no way to go back to your own photo library. Also there are not editing tools for your photosJust ordered my first book, I’ll wait and see how it turns out

Love Blurb

I just received my 2nd Blurb photo album, I’m hooked. I travel a lot and my “real” camera downloads to my cell phone, which allows me immediate access to my photos. Then to be able to get my pictures printed in an album, that looks like a book, is beyond awesome. So, instead of waiting for months or a year to finally get some pictures printed, I have them 2 weeks after my trip. Thank you Blurb.
