Seems like a scam

I downloaded this app about a year ago but never got around to using it until today. I wanted to design a Christmas card for a special co-worker who had recently retired. The interface and navigation of the app was easy. Incorporating photos and adding text seemed like a breeze. The problem wasn’t in creating the actual card. The problem came when it was time to pay for the card. You see, the only way I could send the card was to sign up for a free 7 day trial membership. There was no other option. I read the rather “sketchy” Policy and Terms of Service, which assured me that I could cancel my membership at any time by emailing them. I figured that I’ll just take the trial membership and then cancel the next day. Only, the email address for their membership office isn’t valid. I decided to contact their help department via their email address, which is also invalid. I made a final attempt to contact them through their iOS app service email account and guess what, true believers? That email wasn’t valid either. Now I’m stuck with a membership I don’t want and can’t get rid of. Save yourself some grief and a trip to the Better Business Bureau website and buy a card from the Dollar Tree...

Get’s the job done - postcards

Use this to send postcards to loved ones with fresh snaps easy-peasy. Ever been out with the kids and take a goofy shot you know the grandparents would love? Aspiring college photographer? Goofy high schooler? This is a fast way to post on real paper (not just electrons)!I find this app easy to find the picture, give it a caption, write a quick note, grab the address and send. You can use other apps to save photo edits (Snapchat, enlight, primsa…) and put it on a card (as long as you save to photos). Click send. You have to pay for a package upfront (discount for more “credits”; credits are reasonably priced compared to snapfish/shutterfly). For doing this simple function, this is a great app. Simple, not complicated.Cons: (1) Have to re-enter contacts (but, on upside, I’m not allowing access to entire Contacts like facebook). (2) May not be good for high schoolers on family share who would send one photo postcard to 8 friends - drains credits. (3) Publisher is adding more bells & whistles so may become more complicated in upcoming versions.

Beee WAAAAARE

This app seems great the first time you use it. I ordered one card, it was nicely printed and sent to my grandfather and I thought, “How lovely! How perfectly easy! I love this!” So, I ordered some personalized cards to go to people for thank you’d when my baby was born and people gave me gifts. At first, NONE OF THEM WERE DELIVERED. After the latest date for delivery passed and none had been delivered, I requested a resend. Again, the new delivery date came and went and not a single one was delivered. So I complained to customer service. They asked for order numbers and FINALLY some of my cards started trickling to the mailboxes. THEN, I started getting phone calls from some people who said they got a card that was supposedly from me, with my return address on the envelope, but that had a birthday card from someone else, or a thank you note, but signed “Laverne,” and definitely not from me. I must have sent 18 cards. I have no idea if some of them ever reached their destination because now I am too embarrassed to ask. This app seems great, but for the price of an ACTUAL GREETING CARD, this is much too much to spend for something that doesn’t even send what you request and requires CONSTANT follow up. I just want my money back that I paid for credits to be able to send cards.

Real Membership Costs

Ask for more details before registering for the non-refundable membership program. There are “fees” associated with the purchase of each subsequent card that are not defined in absolute numbers/dollars on the FAQ membership info or on the terms and conditions. Uncertain if these charges were intentionally left undefined as “fees” to make the buyer believe the package would be worth the expense. These fees are only shown in $ amount after the membership is purchased and each individual card is created. The charges then exceed the standard “postage” fees one would assume count as “shipping” which the company states the member is responsible for paying for. In the case of a standard postcard, the shipping/postage charge was almost double the cost of an actual US postcard stamp. This may not be a deterrent for some, but the fact that the extra fees are not clearly defined may lead to surprising charges for many and a loss of your membership $ as refunds are not an option. Best to know what you’re actually getting charged UP FRONT before you sign on for the membership. Then you can make an informed decision without regrets.

Great in theory, horrible in execution

My last TouchNote postcard took about 3 1/2 weeks to arrive. This is the worst that it’s been, but I’m used to TouchNote being an ineffective method of sending greetings to others. The graduation announcements that I sent out had multiples with blank faces, so people didn’t know who the invitation was from. I’ve had several individual cards that I’ve sent have similar problems. No cards have arrived in a reasonable period of time, neither postcards, nor Cards mailed in an envelope.I got notification on one of the recent cards I sent that it was “in the mail” about a week after I ordered it. I complained that it had taken so long. I was told it was just a computer glitch, that the card has been mailed on time, but given it’s significantly late arrival to the recipient, I seriously doubt it.For almost every order I made there was some sort of a problem. I didn’t follow through on every card I sent, but I had to stop sending important things, like sympathy cards, because I had no confidence they would arrive… Or arrive on time, or contain the photo or text that they were supposed to.I had a subscription this year. I will never do that again.

Cards not actually sent!

I was all about this time saving option for getting out birthday cards, thank you cards, etc. but this feels like such a scam anymore. Time and time again I’m ordering cards that aren’t being posted on time, or if they are, the estimated delivery date goes from an expected date based upon the time frame they give for posting, to something weeks away. If that’s not bad enough, they don’t provide any tracking information, and I’ve subsequently come to learn that NO ONE IS ACTUALLY RECEIVING THE CARDS. I’m furious. Customer service is blaming USPS or making excuses about why that can’t possibly be correct, not actually resolving the issue. This service is a high price point that doesn’t save time since your cards arrive a month late, if at all, and I have to chase down whether the recipient receives anything. Its embarrassing and a waste of my time. I’m not a complainer and usually let things slide, but after nearly a year of nonsense and insufficient customer service responses, I’m really feeling like this is a scam. They don’t allow partial refunds, only extra credits to send more cards (that probably won’t actually be received)! So I’m stuck finishing this subscription out and simply losing my money. Argh.

Credits Expire w/o Knowledge

I really do love using this app as a way to keep in touch with my nieces BUT I do not agree with credits expiring after a short time of receiving them. Sometimes life happens and you cannot use the credits every month. I bought into a promotional plan that allowed me a certain number of credits this year. I did not read the small print in the Terms & Conditions that the credits expired which is on me BUT, they could have added this information when I was first advertised to buy into the promotion. On the app, no where mentions the credits expiring with the exception of looking through the credit history. I would have still bought into the deal if I knew the credits expired and planned every month to use credits so I didn’t feel like I was wasting my money. This makes me feel that the company is solely for profit and wanting to bank on their consumers not reading the fine print so they can squeeze out extra dollars instead of building this convenient app that helps keep loved ones in touch. Most likely I will be trying out other companies that are out there once I use my last credits.

Lies

Not much of a review writer but I don’t appreciate being lied too. I sent out 2 post cards on the 15th. According to the app they post your cards within and hour. My cards did show as posted after 2 days. So I decided to make an inquiry. When I reached out to customer services on the 17th they told me my cards had already been posted and it must have been a glitch and to try log in and log out but still the app was not showing them as posted. The following day I see an email saying my cards had just been posted on the 18th. So I reached out to customer service to inquire when was the actual date my cards had been posted, the app was now saying they had been posted on the 15th, my email that I received said the had been posted on the 18th and the customer service representative said that they had been posted on the 17th. It feels as if they only posted out my cards on the 18th after I had inquired with them why my cards had not been posted yet or had not been showing they had been posted. If it was a simple mistake and they hadn’t posted my cards they could have said that but lying about the situation is aggravating and not how a company should conduct business. I needed those cards to be delivered by the end of the week. If I had known they were this unreliable I would have just gone to usps and posted them myself they say I needed them sent out.

one card was missing my msg

I first heard about this app through a commercial while I was watching TV. I quickly downloaded after reading reviews and I thought this would be a cute way to send my family nice cards that live very far away from me. I created and ordered 2 postcards. The app itself is easy to navigate. The layout and designs offered are really cute. When I placed an order, I got an email later on confirming that my postcard was mailed. However as I was looking at the image of my order I noticed that the message I wrote was missing. I panicked and looked at the order on my phone which had the message I wrote. I emailed customer service to confirm if my message was missing on my postcard and they wrote back that it was missing but TouchNote fixed the error and mailed out another card. It was really disappointing that I had to tell the person I was surprising the postcard with that they were getting two cards. One without my message and one with my message. I’m happy about the customer service though, they quickly resolved it for free and apologized. I might order another in the future... but warning anyone buying... please check your confirmation emails and make sure your message for that person is there.

Wish you were here!

I love sending cards and notes, but…even though I love it, it rarely gets done, except for the obligatory reasons. With TouchNote I can send a quick postcard in minutes after a recent visit with friends or family. I can capture a moment and in the moment capture my thought to send along. Most important, the friends and family I send to are always pleasantly surprised and so appreciative of the thoughtfulness. An d rather than send a digital photo or text (like everyone else), they always comment on what they got from us in the mail from us. The postcards become a keepsake. This is such a cool app and well done idea. The reason camera phones are so popular is because they are always handy. The same is true with TouchNote. Don’t leave home without it and for the cost? The memories and thoughtfulness are priceless.P.S. I sent myself a card to check the quality. I promptly purchased another pack!
