Shares Info about you

When you first login the app clearly states that it will share info about you. There is no way to turn this off and is a login requirement.Per their guidelines:Through your use of our Site and Services we may collect Personal Information (“PI”), which is information that identifies you as an individual or relates to you as an identifiable individual. PI may include, but is not limited to, your first and last name, home or business address, email address, and telephone number. We may also combine the PI that we collect on our Site with information we collect about you offline.

Mislead

During my initial sign up , I had a previous balance . In order to sign up a 100 dollar payment needed to be paid which was fine , I paid it . Then came a security deposit which was also fine and understandable. I was told during that same phone call that the rest of my previous balance as well as my security deposit could be spread out through payments monthly. The first bill came in requiring me to pay full previous balance with the months bill and a portion of security deposit. When I called to find out what was going on with the previous balance I was told that they can’t speed that out unless I pay the security deposit in full and that whoever told me that shouldn’t have told me that cause that’s not how it goes . The problem is , they did tell me that and it’s not my problem that they shouldn’t have . Needless to say , it’s been a stressful struggle to come up with full amount of previous balance at once and I really don’t like the surprise of being told two different things by the same company as well as the first thing I was told ended up being brushed off without any kind of help in them honoring what was first discussed.

Like it, but need to change default account

I’ve used the app for years and have moved a couple times. In the past when I moved I was able to change the default account to my new address, but when I moved to a new place in September. It defaults to my old address and will not allow me to change the default to my new address. Please fix this issue. Thanks!

Peak Rewards Section Needs Repair

I think the app itself is great, but recently it hasn’t been functioning like it has in the past. I’m having the most trouble in the ‘Peak Rewards’ section. There you can turn on/off your unit and adjust the temperature. Each time, it times out and says ‘unable to retrieve data, try again’, but that doesn’t happen in the other sections. 🤔 Plus when you try to edit your weekly timed temperature settings, it reverts back to whatever it was before. I hope this can be fixed because that’s what is holding the app back from being the great resource it once was.

Four kids and freezing

I’m shocked I had a request to write a review, but I’m happy to do so. I am the first to understand the facts of dealing with a weather induced electric outage issue, however, I find it ridiculous that BGE has decided not to answer their phones. As customers we have a right to know what is going on and when our particular address will have it’s power restored, not just online status saying the same thing for three days “assessing”. If necessary we will be showing up at a BGE office tomorrow (with 4 kids in tow) to get some answers. We have been without power, while every street that surrounds us has been restored, for two days and nights.

Like everything except app won't allow me save notification preferences

All other apps allow me to set up reminder notifications. Every single time I try with this app, I receive an error message stating that it can't be done and to call the customer service center. The reason I have the app is to minimize contacting anyone. All I want is a reminder that my bill is due! Is that so hard to ask for??? BTW, trying to schedule it on the website doesn't work either...SMH By the time you guys get it to work, I would have moved by then.I wish I could have PEPCO. Never had any problems with their app.

Most Convenient Way to Pay

I previously had scheduled my BG&E Payments directly through my Bank Account and I always felt uncertainty about the synchronization of the eBilling and the Bank ePayment. No need for that concern anymore, I have been using the BG&E App to make my monthly payments on time using my credit card and it is a breeze..! and I get my reward points from my credit card too..!!

No way to update data

iPhone X iOS 11.3 Yesterday my neighborhood had a planned outage. About an hour after it was to start, I checked the app and sure enough it showed that my power was out. A few hours later, I went back into the app to check on things, and found that there’s no way to get an update (reload the information). Clicking on another page of the app and then going back to the outage page didn’t help either. So I closed the app and tried to reopen it, and got a message stating that the app couldn’t be opened and that I should check BGE’s web site. What??? As far as I’m concerned, that makes the app pretty useless.

Two annoying problems

1. When attempting to read bill, I try to zoom in. Certain scrolling actions causes the pdf to reload which already takes a long time.2. Payments (credit card) aren’t reflected immediately so you can’t really tell if anything has been paid. Turns out I made 4 payments in the same month - I think I racked up $1.50x4=$6.00 in convenience fees to boot. Its 2018 where we expect real time feedback (e.g. account credited), not a payment processing message that remains for days.Otherwise the app is very nice, well organized and understandable. But these annoying problems prevent me from wanting to use it so I am just opting for snail mail bills.

Always under maintenance

The app is always under maintenance, always! Every time in the past week when I open the app it says “under maintenance at this time”. How long does it take to perform maintenance on an app? Not long. Not all of us can have access to a computer at the snap of a finger. That’s why I prefer the app. Quick, easy way, to pay my bill. I work overnight so I usually check the app in the middle of the night...maybe that’s when they do everyday “maintenance” to the app. I’ll try tomorrow in the am. If it doesn’t work, then I’ll request you kill some trees and snail mail me every bill...just be prepared that my return payment is going to be snail mail and I’ll make sure Gary the snail takes his time.
