Incredibly simple and beautiful

The tools Universe has make it simple and fun for anyone to build a website. It has been incredibly well designed and has a very nice interface with easy to follow instructions and concepts. I think that design and development are moving to more things like this in which we can create more naturally without needing to learn skills such as coding. Don’t get me wrong, coding is very helpful and I have been learning it for the past year, but the more we can move past it and make the computer work for us instead of us needing to work according to the computer, the better computing will become.There is a lot more that could be done with Universe however. It is still fairly restricted since you have to rely on the grid and their preset colors and options. This can certainly be a good thing for people who want that simplicity, but for people that are looking for more, there could be greater customization.

Software amazing, support trash

So I had previously purchased domain names elsewhere before I had known about Universe. They offer the ability to redirect said domain names and use external domain names outside of the universe. I have been trying to get everything set up and redirected and needless to say I’ve been on the phone with my other hosting company. Everything is fine on their end but I have yet to get any feedback from Universe. They gave me a grand total of like three or four messages which I actually ended up answering my own questions. I have been trying for the past two days to get a hold of somebody to get some help to get this set up since it’s a business I’m trying to run. I have gotten nothing. And actually some of this port tickets that I’ve opened were just closed with no reason nothing I purchased the pro membership expecting a certain level of customer support I’ve gotten nothing. Like the title says their software is amazing and super easy to use and I really like it. However if you run into a problem don’t expect to get any help with anything.

Simply Amazing

I just have one problem when I go in to add a gif & save it. It creates this big gap between the gif & the next item I add. It’s annoying because I’m trying to get a certain look & that’s messing up the flow of my site. I do absolutely love the app & all the features! I definitely plan to stay with you all & recommend you all to everyone I know! I just need that one thing fixed! Please & thank you 🙏 😊Update: Developer responded to this review & I was informed to reach out to the Help desk for help. They responded promptly and my problem was resolved! I love the new update where you can embed a playlist! Super cool! This is the BEST WEBSITE Builder I have ever used! I’m excited to watch what else they had! I do wish there was a way you could save blog post for later to edit!

Views and Subscriptions

I love this app but please fix the bug that limits the amount of views you see per day. I have this app linked to a huge platform I have online and the app views never match the actual views that the website is getting. It shows a number way lower than your actual views. Also please fix the bug that will not allow people to subscribe to your website, as I said I have the website linked to a huge platform and people have complained that they can’t sub or didn’t get the link when the post was published. If I did not have such a big platform somewhere else, I would be very hurt because it would look as if I’m getting no subscriptions or views. Please fix these issues. I have reached out to three different techs on this app via Zoom chats about the issues addressed. I’m not sure if they are really knowledgeable about it, except a guy named Adam who was very helpful, or if they are just winging it or if this app is all Beta. However these issues need to be addressed.

Just started and I LOVE it!

I have been looking for site builders and honestly I’m very impressed. I love that you can have email subscribers (pro, but Im excited nonetheless)And i love the way you can customize every page to your liking and even add subpages to swipe through. I do wish there were a bit more shapes to play with and other photo effects to apply such as vignette, or top to bottom gradients that you can change the color of, etc.I’m also curious if there’s ways to make more dynamic graphics. Maybe with a main page and its subpages: you can anchor the background to all, and just have the other graphics basically slide over the background. And maybe other swipe effects/translations. I think for how simple it is, a lot of bases are touched, and basic major components are included. And maybe some of these features are included in pro. I have no idea lol. Just throwing some ideas out there for an already great program. The more I mess around with it the more I’m leaning towards buying the lifetime pro account. It’s a very promising app. I just wish there was a trial so I can test all the pro features before deciding to spend money on it, however, I’m not too worried as I’m confident this would work perfect for what I need.

Deceived

If I could give a negative star, I would. This app is a one page site, which is not a website, and you can’t sell anything, so you might as well call it a blog. It had glitches as well. It would freeze up from time to time. I was deceived when I signed up with the app. I didn’t know I was purchasing a domain name, and they purchase a domain through another service. I decided this app was not going to work for me, so now I have to keep my account open with them for one year. They won’t give me access to my own domain that I purchased. I have a shopify store, and need to buy an email with gsuite, but I can’t even do that, because I need to wait for Universe to log into my domain to finish setting it up. I have not heard back from Universe to do so. I am left waiting. Plus any issue I have with my domain. I have to wait for them to fix the problem. I am not that techno friendly, but I am learning as I go, and I pick on things real quickly. Making someone wait when it is something that can be fixed asap is not right. At least respond with questions in order to fix something. Universe fails to do so. Frustrating to say the least. Another day goes by.

Love it!

I just love this.. first of all, for myself anyway I found it very simple to use and create... I already have a website, but I loveeee clickable linked pix and graphics! So I basically just created what I consider to be a Virtual Business Card, each image is a link to my everything! A) my regular domain, my Phone, Email.. Photo Links to my socials, FB, IG, Twitter (2 Of each! 🤦🏻‍♀️, so it should make sense why this is so awesome for me.. links to my Snapchat too! I’m really impressed with it.. I do Social media marketing and some of the clients can’t afford a new website and maintain it and all of that.. so I’ve recommended this to quite a few.. a friend of mine is a realtor and I had her do this.. she’s not the savviest with this kind of thing but she still made one, I made a list of things for her to change but even what she put together is good enough and is everything if she wants to be successful.. I also really like that it’s more than just a stand-alone site.. it’s also a community.. which is additional exposure.. and starting off.. you can use all you can get! 5 Stars For Sure.. Totally Recommend This!

Not for Professionals

I tried to accept a $698 payment, from a client, for services rendered. Got an email sent to my spam folder letting me know that they suspect the charge is fraud and won’t be releasing the money to me. There is no way to contact these people on the telephone. This organization is run by a bunch of kids and if they don’t figure it out they’re going to be doing $20 transactions until the death of this app. I pay like 10 bucks a month to use the service, but it was probably $25 processing fee. It seems obvious to me that for their model to work that they need the site builders to utilize their internal payment processing. Who in their right mind would use a payment processor that puts holds on legitimate payments and sends the alert to spam, while their marketing emails go direct to my inbox. Really, I’m super disappointed, and I expected more from this application. Unfortunately, until the developers become professionals, they’ll never properly serve professionals. This app might be good for selling epoxy pours, though, if you’re a middle school child.

The way shipping works on here is just draining

I love this app, it has helped me expand my business loads and I’ve even been featured on your Instagram before, but I’m practically begging y’all at this point to add a feature where people can pay for shipping when they purchase something. I’m also begging you even harder to find a way to allow mass printing of shipping labels because going through 170 orders and single handedly filling out the weight for the same item for a different order every single time leads me to burnout. It would be so easy if the weight of the items was already coded in when I list it to be paid for. I just sat down for 2 hours making/printing shipping labels and it’s making me want to just switch to Shopify or go back to Depop since their labels are premade.
