Besides the attractive graphics, meh

I didn't like this app at all. It was attractive at first -- cute enough that I paid and upgraded to have the numerous ads removed -- but it wasn't as good as I thought. My biggest pet peeve is how everytime you enter a number, it does this highlight thing where it shows you all the other locations of the number you just entered. There's no setting to remove it and it's incredibly distracting and time-wasting. There’s also no way to see which ones are the answers and which ones are the pre-populated ones. It loads fairly slowly, too, and all that unnecessary effects get in the way of the game. The numbers are not that bad responsive and if you accidentally put it a number as an answer instead of a note — and if that number happens to be correct, it won’t let you delete it. Which is frustrating because I don’t want to win easily. Overall, it's for casual, infrequent players. For those who play more frequently, I recommend other sudoku apps that's less frills and more sustance.

Well designed and colorful way app

This sudoku app is bright, and singular in its own way, without disrupting the original way of playing sudoku too much. You have options for what kind of gameplay you would like (telling you if you're right or wrong, automatically filling in blocks with one cell left, etc...). You can turn off these options and play regularly. You can also choose what level of difficulty you would like. Overall I would say this app brings sudoku intact but upgraded, and able to be played on portable devices, anywhere.

Great app that keeps your mind active

I love the colors for each number or I can change it to just 1 color overall. It's great to keep your mind active and I love all the different difficulty levels to choose from. I play it for enjoyment, but my elderly father with dementia plays it to keep his mind active and I'm grateful for this game. The colors and different levels of difficulty really helps out. He wouldn't play any other sudoku games on his phone, IPAD, or in a book because he had difficulty seeing it and became overwhelmed. Thank you for this and I definitely give it 5 stars for that alone but you offer so much more!

Beautiful Design, Exploitative Monetizing

I used to recommend this app as the best visual experience for playing Sudoku. I paid for the full version 2 years ago because I loved the color palette and minimal aesthetic that allowed me to focus on the puzzle itself. However, with the the latest update, I no longer feel comfortable recommending it and may even uninstall it.I understand incentivizing people to pay for the full version, and paid to remove ads years ago when they were full screen 30-second spots. Now there is an obnoxious remix of Futurama and Rick & Morty clips that cannot be muted or stopped the moment you open the app. If this were April 1st that would be one thing, but surprising the user in this way seems like an exploitative way to push them to the ad-less version. I'm glad I paid before this update because I would hate to support this marketing tactic.

Porn

I’ve had this app on my phone for years and loved it. It’s a beautiful game, simple design and I love the colors. I had even paid for the full version. After a new update a few months ago the ads are back and I’ve tried to hit “restore purchases” but nothing worked. I have no desire to pay for it again, so have been playing with adds. They are more annoying than before. My real issue is that today an “ad” that was a very graphic porn clip popped up in the middle of playing. I canceled out of it and deleted the game. This happened once before a week or so ago.. I laughed it off and forgot about it until today. Obviously it’s something to be concerned about. I noticed a couple other commenters have had this problem. Developers (possibly Apple as well) need to address this before a child sees it.

Use to be my favorite game

I use to love this app! I’ve had it and played it for a long time. I use to play this app multiple times a day. It was a good way for me to take a quick break and decompress. The most recent update brought ads. Before this hey had a kind of placeholder for the ads, but that could be quickly x’ed. Now the ads are long and hard to get rid of. They don’t just come at the end of a game or the beginning of a new game, they come every time I open the app. If I have to interrupt my game to briefly move to another app, such as to answer a text, when I return to the game (and I’m not talking about reopening the app, but just being away from it for even a few second) I get another long ad. It’s become so frustrating that I’ve decided to delete the app and instead play my second favorite app by a different make of sudoko or return to playing puzzle pages. If the ad were less often or were a mix of longer ads and short, single photo/page ads, I could probably tolerate it. My son is a game designer, so I appreciate that everyone deserves to earn money for their work. But the way they changed the game and added the ads is so intrusive and time consuming that the app is no longer fun.

Too many ads & too expensive to purchase

I’m sorry but who in their right mind in America would buy this app for $20??? I downloaded this app maybe 7-8 years ago. The ads were not that bad. Now, I feel like I can’t even play the game because I’m watching an ad every 10 seconds. I just downloaded onto my new phone & all I’ve done is watch ads in the few minutes I’ve sat here hoping to do some sudoku. What I like about the game is that it’s customizable in the appearance & other things. It’s easy to focus on each number you’re working on throughout the puzzle. But the ads just make me feel ridiculous trying to play this. I suckered down & thought let’s just buy it but at $20??! I’d rather buy an actual sudoku book. I feel like the creator took a great game & made it purely about monetary gain. Which I agree is important to an extent but this is just a ridiculous stretch.

Ads.

I love this app! It is very colorful and the settings are easily accessible and there are four different levels, easy, medium, hard, and expert. This would be a five star rating if it weren't for the ads. They don't even give you a pop up! You don't touch the screen and the app redirects you to the App Store. It gets very annoying because as soon as you re-open the app, it gives you a video ad where you have to "play" the ad to make it go away. I am on the verge of deleting this app because of this as it gets VERY annoying and not worth it for 5 seconds of play before being bombarded with the App Store. My apologies to anyone looking for a sudoku app. If you hate ads don't download this app. If this gets fixed I will certainly change this review. Thanks for reading as I know this is long.

How I mastered sudoku

After hours of time killing bathroom breaks, the knowledge of sudoku has been bestowed upon me. Change your background, set your intensity... and become enlightened with the gift of filling in squares with numbers. Your life will immediately improve as you continue to advance in the game. When I pay for things, I always give exact change, and I don't even look. My logic is imperturbable and impossible. Sudoku has made me a secret agent. I've said too much... get the app Oh did I mention you can change the color and it's UI is the best of the other ones you've already looked at? Haha

Best version of sudoku I’ve tried, from a low vision POV

All sudoku apps are not created equal. They are very close, but this one read my mind. I am visually impaired, so playing games like this on a device as small as an iPhone can get frustrating. I tried a handful of sudoku apps, and this is the only one that color codes the numbers. Simple? Yes. That’s why it shocks me that no one else (that I tried) had thought of this! I have to knock off one star for the fact that I can’t change the numbers within the multicolored blocks from white to black. Make that an option and you’ll have my love forever! It’s not easy reading white on yellow...
