Not enough experience freedom

I loved my initial impression of this app. The first story is very calming is nice. I liked it so much I bought pro and I IMMEDIATELY regretted it.The initial quiz makes it sound like they’ll curate your experience—give you a line up based on your answers. It doesn’t. You’re forced to play them in order regardless of how they pertain to your interests. In the quiz I chose that I liked fairytales, fantasy, etc. typical escapism. I don’t like the real world and prefer to spend my relax time taking my mind off it. The first chapter is a decrepit building in Brooklyn with a nostalgia motif. I have never been there and have no connection to the place. I find cities stressful. The look of the building was old and depressing. Every now and then there were sirens in the background. All of this just amped up my anxiety and actually put me in a much, much worse mood before bed. This really soured my opinion of this app. I sped through it just to get it over with and hopefully get to a better one but, nope. You are locked out of the next one until your next “sleep” 15 hours later. This is a shocking lack of user agency for an app that is $40 a year.If they create a feature where they actually tailor the list to your interests or give you the option to skip then this world be a 5 star. As it is—without these options it’s massively disappointing.

PLEASE don’t make me start over...

First of all, I gotta say I love the app. The narration is so soothing and the guided coloring really helps me slow down. I do have one main concern though about the last update: I had caught up with all of the sleepscapes before the update, but now I have to go through all of them again in order to play chapter 4. Lots of the comments say they like replaying chapters, but for me it gets a bit tedious. PLEASE make it so we don’t have to start again from the beginning every time there’s an update. Oh and another smaller suggestion. I sometimes fall asleep in the middle of a sleepscape, which I would assume is supposed to be a good thing. But because of how the timer works, that means I only get to complete the last part of a sleepscape (usually only a couple minutes, plus, as I mentioned before, replaying the sleepscape doesn’t work for me) and I have to wait until the next night to actually get to the next installment. I get why the timer is there, but it feels almost like a punishment for letting the app do its job. Maybe some kind of idle timer would be helpful? Like if we had the app open for a while but with no activity, a pop up could come up with sort of a “are you still there” notification? Just a suggestion!—Tiffany

Ok, I actually really like this app 😂

So I tried this app a while back and didn’t really get into it. Recently it came back up in my ads and I decided to give it another shot. I finally went for the free trial and was still the same level of “meh” about it until around the third night. I realized that it actually DID help me get into a more relaxed state. When I was in a “hurry up and get to the point” frame of mind in regards to the narrative, it made me wait. While I was impatient at first it’s grown on me and reminds me to slow down. It’s definitely a pricier app, but will drop down to $20 a year after the trial. Even if I don’t end up playing this beyond a month, it’s more than worth it for the work that the developers obviously put into it. A lot of the time I find myself focusing more on the details that someone included rather than the story being told, and that in and of itself is worth the money. Will I use this app regularly over the next year? Nope. Will I gladly spend $20 to help pay some poor developers working hard to make people happy? Abso-friggin-lutely. Developers: keep up the amazing work y’all are doing!Advertising/customer service: great job reeling me in! Keep it up as well.CEO’s etc: YALL BETTER BE PAYING YOUR PEOPLE WELL! They obviously know their stuff and are DOING A GREAT FRIGGING JOB!

More new sleepscapes please!!

I love this app, I have struggles with insomnia since I was FAR too young to know what insomnia was, and this is the first app that’s ever truly helped me sleep. However, since I started using Loona, the production of new sleepscapes has slowed to the speed of molasses. I have already done all of the sleepscapes provided, even the ones that I really didn’t enjoy, and I wish that they would come out with new content more frequently. When I first started there would be new stories once/month at minimum, but it’s now been multiple months since the last release. I understand that it takes a huge amount of time and effort to make each sleepscape, but I got frustrated with the app a few months ago and stopped using it in hopes that there would be new content when I picked it back up, but it’s exactly how I left it. I wish that they would stop trying to add new features to the app and instead focus on the content that people pay for: new sleepscapes. I don’t mind replaying some of my favorites a few times, but the content is not being replaced at the rate of which it’s being consumed. I hope that there are a bunch of new stories in the works that will come out soon, because I’m getting bored with repeating the same stories over and over!

The Best Sleep App Ever!

This is awesome. I enjoy the immersive stories and coloring to bring the story alive. Each night I can’t wait to open up this app! I fall asleep real fast with this app. It’s funny. Once, I opened the app and loaded a sleepscape and was asleep before it even started! I actually think about it during the day an anticipate the next immersive story. I have favorites as well that I never thought I’d like! I play these over and over again! There are so many immersive stories I have the app for several months now and still haven’t completed them all. More stories get loaded regularly so your never without a sleepscape! You can choose to color a sleepscape with story or a story without coloring and also just music or sounds from the sleepscape. I love it all. If I don’t want to do the sleepscape. I either choose the immersive story alone or one of the music or sounds. I just stuck in my ear buds and listen. But don’t get me wrong… the sleepscape’s are the best. You have simply got to try this app out! It’s really hard to visualize this without trying it. Yes! I do pay for it! It’s that good! And I don’t pay for apps often at all! You will be missing out if you don’t try it our fully! I did the Dragon Shine (free one-great sleepscape by the way but once I payed for the app- I never went back to the dragon shrine! And I LOVED the dragon shrine!) there’s is just so much to EXPLORE!

generally speaking, i love this app

update: why do all the narrators who arw women sound like full robot weirdos and all the men sound like real people?it's beautiful, the music is lovely, and the repetition really does help me sleep. however. there are a few things i don't like: 1. it really is kind of expensive. i only do the sleepscapes and i kind of wish there were membership tiers ie. one amount for JUST sleepscapes and a little more for scapes + the "immersive" stories. 2. there are a lot of sleepscapes where there are a lot of like. single items to color at a time and that really brings me out of it. when the narrator is like, pausing mid-sentence to have me tap a single hat or something it's annoying. 3. i also don't know how much the colors i picked when i got the app (march 2020, i think) matter but like. they sure don't seem more prominent than others. is that still a thing. 4. i like that you can now favorite sleepscapes but i wish i could mark the ones i don't like either so that when it takes forever for new sleepscapes to come out, i don't accidentally start one i don't like. 5. sometimes the way the camera moves is really just awful like having to zoom way in or out to tap something or having to swing it around so that the thing is juuuust barely on screen is very annoying. all that said, i really do like this app and i do feel like it helps a lot, especially because i have adhd. thanks!

I Adore This App.

I never thought I'd be in a position where I wanted to hawk an app, but here I am. Ever since I was a teenager I've had trouble with insomnia. I'll go through periods where it takes two to three hours to fall asleep. I'm tired enough to sleep. That isn't the problem. I just can't seem to switch my brain off long enough to do it. I'll lay there for hours and think about everything under the sun. I downloaded this app one day on a whim. You're not really supposed to lay in bed on your phone so I thought how well could it really work? It looked pretty though. I like pretty things. I loaded it up and there are episodes called sleepscapes that you color in as you're guided by a narrator. I did the first episode, put my phone on the charger and closed my eyes. In ten minutes, I was asleep. I was kind of amazed. I kept doing it every night and it kept working. I'm not sure at all of the specifics but I think it gets your mind to focus on one thing, something relaxing, and allows your brain to shut down enough to actually fall asleep. It got to a point where I didn't need to use it every night. My mind knew it was time to go to bed and it cooperated. If you have an issue like mine then I suggest just giving it a shot. People use it for sleep, for anxiety issues, with varying degrees of success. I don't think it works for everyone who tries it, but it does seem to help a lot of people.

Absolutely wonderful! Thank you Loóna!

I’m finally writing a review on this app after having it for two years. I was using it pretty much off and on for a long time, but lately I’ve been using it every night, if not for the Sleepscapes, (which I love!) at least for the music. I found that playing the music with a sleep timer set on my phone, has been allowing me, and even my husband, to fall asleep much quicker than any other method. My husband has always had trouble falling asleep, and for the first time in years, I’ve noticed that he tends to fall asleep within minutes instead of hours, when I play the music so that we both can hear it. He actually turns off his phone app that he usually scrolls through for hours and relaxes. I can’t tell you how impressed I am with this app. I had been paying for it yearly, because I didn’t know if I really needed to keep using it. But after the past couple weeks of both of us falling asleep so quickly, I realized that I would want it forever. So, I went ahead and bought the Loóna Plus: Lifetime Access subscription today. So, if any of you reading this are hesitating buying a subscription, don’t. You won’t regret it. Just explore it’s options, and find the ones that help you relax the best.

Amazing, worth the price

This app is one of the best non medication tools I’ve ever found for falling asleep, so it’s 100% worth the subscription price. The sleepscapes are gorgeous, imaginative, and relaxing. I seriously look forward to getting in bed and starting my sleepscape every night. I would recommend that anyone who has trouble winding down give it a try and see if it works for you!My only issue is that there just isn’t that much content on the app at this point. If I use this app every night (which I do because it’s amazing), there are just over a month’s worth of sleepscapes before I have to start redoing the ones I’ve already done. There are soundscapes and stories on the app as well, but I feel like other apps have those things and the sleepscapes are what make Loóna unique. This is not necessarily a negative since I know it must be time consuming to create the sleepscapes compared to other types of content, and I wouldn’t want the quality to suffer in the name of releasing them faster. Just something to keep in mind in case you get addicted like me - it’s well worth the price as is, but I hope as the developers gain more resources they can release sleepscapes a little faster.

Description

- WHAT IS LOÓNA? loóna is the first app that lets you quickly disconnect from a long stressful day and get in the right mood for sleep. - SO, IT'S ANOTHER SLEEP APP, RIGHT? Not exactly.

loóna isn’t a list of direct go-to-sleep techniques, but rather a mood-altering app that helps you to stay calm during the day and prepares you emotionally for going to sleep in the evening. - WHY IS BEDTIME MOOD IMPORTANT? Negative emotions we accumulate during the day are processed and consolidated by our brain during sleep making them more difficult to disassociate from when faced again in the future. Moreover, feeling angry, anxious, down, or, the opposite, excited, and elated, is likely to affect latencies to sleep onset and REM-sleep. People mistake it for the symptoms of a sleep disorder, but in reality, they just may be in the wrong mood for sleep. - HOW DOES LOÓNA WORK? From the wake up and during the busy day Loóna will support your emotional states with playlists and immersive stories. Each night you’ll have a recommended escape. An escape is a guided session that combines activity-based relaxation, storytelling, and sounds in a unique way. Complete it to shut the frantic world out, reset your mind, and create the perfect mood for sleep. Loóna saves your escape sessions to your Apple Health app. The upgrade to loóna PLUS provides access to the entire collection of escapes.
