The best . No question about it. But last update screwed you out of every option

So o had the custom options and then updated and lost it all. No mention of that in the update notes so if you want to spend 60 a year for ever feel free. If I’m going to pony up I’m going to get an iwatch 8 and problems solved. Save your self the cash on the endless payments and get a watch instead. All the functions you want out of this app are included. I was looking for an app that would work with my chest strap heart rate monitor. Most apps are geared toward use with a watch, which I find are less accurate and waaaaaaay overpriced. This app not only lets you track workout metrics, has great user interface but of key importance to me, Allows you to customize your own heart rate zones. No more generic trash that most apps provide. I use a polar h10 and guess what? In order for you to have that feature you need to buy one of their expensive watches. Useless for me. Between my phone and the chest strap heart rate monitor I can key in on my zones and make sure I’m doing what I’ve intended to do whether that’s zone 2 or 4-5. Absolutely great. Tracks calories create custom workouts etc. a must have if you use a chest strap heart rate monitor. 10 stars if it were possible

Want to like it but cycle miles aren’t showing

I love the interface, the customizations , the watch display, etc. But the one item I want to see on the dashboard is cycling miles! It’s available in the list but when added, refuses to show any data though! When I look at individual workouts, the data is in the app. Mileage is accurate in the workout view. It’s also the same for cycling pace. Switch to dashboard and its blank - just placeholder dashes. I would like to be able to view cycling data in the dashboard view as the dashboard is extremely useful. All the heart rate and heart range data is absolutely gorgeous. So there’s so much to love here, except for the fact that my most desired metrics refused to display in the main view I hope to see.I contacted the developer 3 days ago. I received an email saying that they have a ticket on the item but have had no reply since then. I have reinstalled with no fix. Again, let me say if it would display the specific data I wanted, I would rate this as the absolute best app for cycling I’ve ever used. It beats Strava hands down in my opinion.

Best app for running and cycling

I’ve tried just about every major running and cycling app out there and I must say that this is the best hands down. The main reason is the fantastic Apple Watch integration. The Apple Watch shows 6 metrics at once! I choose to show HR, HR Zone, Duration, Calories, Split Pace and Total Pace but you can customize the display and choose any 6 metrics that you want to see. Most other apps will only show 3-4 metrics at most on your watch. You can even have some of these metrics voiced every so often you don’t even have to look at your watch. The heart rate analysis you get is also top notch and I believe the best one currently on the market. After your workout you will see a map of your course, which will show what parts your HR was the highest and where you were the fastest. Like I said, it’s the best workout app out there and I’ve tried just about all of them.

With series 4 watch this almost replaces Garmin

I love this program and the new Apple watches and I really want to leave my Garmin and iPhone at home. This app now has the gps accuracy to match all my know routes to within the same approximate standard deviation as my Garmin did. The only thing that still forces me to bring the Garmin is lack of a watch display field choice for split pace. Any serious runner trying to control pace needs this. Instant pace is too under damped and average to overdamped and targeting a certain pace for a given mile / split can’t be done without knowing what the current average value has been up to the current point in the mile. I am a member of 3 running clubs and this is the most common metric all the runners I know use, I’m shocked it’s missing (Strava app does have it but lacks a lot of other things). This has to be so trivial to add ... please consider it.Update: Very responsive developer ... changed rating to 5 stars do to visible progress

Almost perfect. Love the focus on heart rate

This is a great workout/running app. I’ve waited for a little over a month to review to get a good feel for the app.I love the user interface and plenty of customizable options within the app. There are also plenty types of workouts to choose from. If you can’t find the workout you’re looking for, you’re able to create one. The graphics are great and easy to read while on the move. I also love that the graphics are heart rate centric with other pertinent info around it. The only drawback is I would love if they included a heart rate zone based training program— with LIVE heart rate based coaching. I had the adidas MiCoach system before and loved the way they integrated live coaching based on your heart rate zone. Each day was different, easy days...tough red zone days. The intervals kept it interesting and made me a better runner, while also helped with bursts of speed and becoming more athletic. I sent feedback to the team but unfortunately did not get a response. Ultimately, I signed up for their premium subscription and hope to see that feature added in the future.

Mostly good

I use this app a lot and most of the time it’s decent but occasionally it does get hung up when I’m in the middle of an exercise. I’ve also noticed that I can’t use this app in conjunction with another fitness app to maintain tracking stability. If I’m using the Nike run app, for example, I can’t also use this app to see what my heart rate and other indicators and metrics are. I almost always get an error message that ends up closing this app down. And there have also been a number of times when using this app, that it seems to restart in the middle of me doing an exercise. It’s not always clear whether it was tracking the entire exercise session or if it actually restarted the entire session. It’s frustrating to have to stop the exercising in the middle of the workout to determine whether or not this app is working properly. I would prefer an app that consistently worked properly that didn’t end up interrupting my exercise events.

Great tracker, but missing features

I have been using this for a couple of weeks now and I love all of the info and tracking information it gives, but there are some features I wish would be included in future updates. There is no lap button feature. Sometimes running it is nice to know time splits at different distances and a lap feature would take care of this. There is also no function to track distances in your work and rest intervals. It is just a continuous distance. For example, an 8:00 run with a 4:00 rest/recovery. It would be nice to know the distances for each piece. Lastly, it would be nice to have multiple work and rest times in a single workout. As is, you can only set a single work period and rest period that can be repeated. You can’t create varied work or rest intervals. As of now you have to run a separate timer along with FITIV. It should be built into the app. Great app and despite some shortcomings it is still my activity tracker of choice.

Totally love this app! (Before)

Update: Still my daily tracking app but as other reviewers have noted, some issues have crept in. My number one complaint is that for at least the past year, the cycling summary is incorrect. If I look at my cycling mileage for the week, instead of seeing 70 miles it reports .7 I have written support several times with no meaningful answer. Two years ago the stats function was ****awesome****. Very easy to navigate and customize. Why I loved this app. Then it was “improved” and not nearly as easy. I like to look at weekly, monthly and year to date versus previous time periods. I can still get there sort of. I have stats in the widget (very helpful and meaningful) but I used to be able to have the same stats when I opened the app on the front page and do some quick comparisons. Without an accurate cycle mileage it is all a moot point and useless. Very disappointing. Stop with the new functionality and fix what is broken please. ********************I have the subscription and love this app. I use it daily on my Apple Watch and iPhone. Mount my phone on the bike with FITIV and I track my ride all the way thru, track my workout, everything. Gives me great info to track my progress with every workout, across many different types. Highly recommend the subscription! Many ways to track - daily, weekly, monthly and yearly. No other app I have found offers this depth of info, extremely helpful for me.

Problems Solved

(July 20,2022) Over four years and still my go-to fitness app. It’s great. Update three (March 1, 2019): still my daily go-to fitness app but some performance issues have slowly crept back in. They are annoying but I'm leaving my rating at five stars for now because it's still a great app. Updated again (Sep 22, 2018 - after v5.0 release): the inaccuracies and performance problems have been resolved. This is now my go-to app for fitness. Updated review (Jul 12, 2018, after two years of use): it's getting better. There is still a major issue with duplicates but accuracy has improved. Increased one star. I've been using the paid version for a couple months now and there are some major issues. I've been using a very accurate heart rate monitor with it. One issue is that the calorie count is grossly inaccurate. A 45 minute high-intensity workout with average heart rate at 150 is usually accurately measured as 800 calories whereas a 22 minute walk with heart rate in the warm-up zone the entire time chalks up over 2000 calories! It also frequently doesn't sync with Apple Health. I feel like I wasted $10.
