User Reviews for Heart Analyzer: Cardio Monitor

Much, much better than expected

I just needed an app that would show me my heart rate over the course of a day. This app does that and much more. For example, it averages daily heart rate over the course of a year. I got lazy over the enforced COVID stay at home period and quit exercising. A few months ago, I resumed exercising. The retrospective annual graph shows an increased heart rate during the period I slacked off and fortunately, a corresponding decline beginning when I resumed exercising. The feedback has motivated me to keep exercising. That alone is worth the purchase. The developer has an excellent User Interface sense. Want better detail on a part of a graph? Just pinch and zoom and you have it. You might think “Pfff! Pinch and zoom is not new!” You would be right but their are too many apps that don’t implement it when they should. This one does. The care that it took to implement that small detail permeates the app. Lots more but i hate writing on my phone. Just buy it.

Was excited until......

When I first saw all the metrics this apps provides I quickly bought all premium features. Then I noticed that the app would crash when I go into workout data and slide the bottom heart information bar. Right when getting into the “metrics” view. I have rebooted phone, reinstalled app, open and Close the app and done it with and without rebooting phone when doing the app reinstall. I sent an email to the developer but then noticed they say it could take up to 10 WORKING days to respond. I downloaded this app because it was features in 9to5 as amazing which it looks like it is but can’t say if I can’t use one of the main features! Anyways, I know software is unpredictable but when a paid app has this issues (and apparently known based on other reviews) I think is unacceptable. I sent them a video with the exact issue since it only happens on that specific instance just to try to help. I hope it doesn’t take 10 days to get it fixed because I really look forward to use the app.

Better Than 5 Stars

This is a very well thought out app. There is so much information in this app but it doesn’t get in the way or clutter up any screens. It shows a lot of information among other things valuable information about your heart. I got this because I’m recovering from a near death fight with COVID-19. I am still supposed to monitor my oxygen levels. So if you have an Apple Watch series 6 this gets even better because the series 6 has the oximeter and this app has your oxygen information in it also. There are 3 premium upgrades available for purchase. The nice thing is that you don’t have to renew each month.

Great App, Prompt Responses

I’m really enjoying this app, as well as the concise way it summarizes data so that I can easily share it with my primary care doctor and my cardiologist. What really impresses me is how quickly the developer responds to email when you have a question or suggestion.Unlike many other apps that also have great and detailed data, this app isn’t a subscription service. I’ve seen apps wanting more money monthly for what this app offers as a one time purchase. But buyer beware: once you get this app, you may become healthier as you make better lifestyle choices.

Heart Rate Recovery Flawed

FYI to athletes looking to track HR Recovery, the “Deep Analytics” HR Recovery functionality is flawed this app. The issue is that most, if not all, workouts will include some kind of a cool down period before completing the workout where much of your HR recovery can be realized. This app isn’t able to recognize that condition. I noticed that my HR Recovery numbers were being scored as “poor” in both the 1-minute and 2-minute periods. My 1-minute recovery is typically 35-38 bpm but this app was reporting only 5-7. Hmmm. That’s when I realized it was only looking at my HR when I clicked “end” on my workout. I then tested the app by performing a workout where I immediately ended the workout without a cool down and it correctly calculated my recovery. So just be warned that if you utilize any kind of cool down, this app will misreport your HR Recovery.

Amazing, almost perfect app

This app is fantastic!!! I have a health condition that requires daily monitoring and Heart Analyzer is by far the best app out there. The Premium version is well worth the cost. I appreciate the one time payment versus subscription. ***there is one addition that would make this app 5++ stars•••Please, please add a dashboard metric that displays how many minutes per day are spent above a customized HR threshold. For example, the user could customize this metric to minutes above 121 BPM. Or alternatively, minutes above a particular heart rate zone. Like the tile for cardio points. There is something similar to this functionality in Heart Analyzer. In the deep analytics section you can specify a custom heart rate zone to see how long you spend in it. Unfortunately it does not provide daily info. the bar chart only displays overall monthly trends with no markers on the X or Y-axis (Date, HR).This information is critical for my daily health monitoring. I enable continuous HR monitoring periodically throughout the day, as my HR often spikes during routine activities. Because this is not logged as a work out, I cannot view a summary of my heart rate minutes by HR zones. A daily metrics tile would solve for this.It appears that the app is regularly updated. I would gladly pay a “tip” as other developers include as an optional payment!!!

Superior App

Superior App hands down. Having a ugly issue with AFib, I have a need to pay attention. App graphs are amazing, you can easily see a clear picture of heart activity. If you need or want to stay on top of trends and activity then you have reached nirvana with Heart Analyzer. As a major bonus to the app is a developer who is responsive as well as willing to help. I had a issue with my app and sent an email hoping something stupid on my part was the problem. Developer was fast and more than willing to help, turned out to be my watch iOS was the issue and easily fixed. Plain and simple, superior app, fantastic graphics and display, developer willing to help and responsive. Best app I have downloaded in a very long time, thank you Heart Analyzer, you have my full support and gratitude for all of your work to develop this app.

It would be running in the background overnight

So I got this App because 9to5mac recommended it. After downloading it for whatever reason it wouldn’t show on the watch until I powered down both watch and phone then it finally showed up in my watch apps. My biggest problem is that while sleeping it would run my activity in the background so now upon waking up I already have 600 calories burned, I’ve stood the entire night and almost 100 minutes of exercise. This happened three nights in a row, and I would notice that on the top of my watch it show a white out version of the activity logo. But when I check my workouts nothing was posted, matter a fact none of my workout apps said I did anything. So I was really confused, now this happened when it was a set as a complication on my watch face. I didn’t bother to see if it did the same thing if it wasn’t a complication, but I went ahead and deleted it and now my watch is back to normal. Also during those three times that my watch was going it would almost completely drain my battery.

premium purchase not registering

I paid for the app but in the app there’s some features that keeps telling me that I need to upgrade to premium. Is this a glitch ? All my stuff is UTD so if this isn’t fixed and I can’t access all my heart reports from up to 4 years ago; very disappointed. Because this has potential to be a great app for cardiac patients like me that has a loop/pacemaker that uses Apple Watch as a secondary way to monitor themselves and compare data and report things to there electrophysiology drs. The way the monthly charts are broken down here are wonderful; I can just email/ and send to dr or show ER dr if there’s an issue as a quick comparative especially for trends.

Great app with excellent deep analytics

I was recently diagnosed with AFib, which I never would have known if not for my Apple Watch detecting it. I then mentioned it to my doctor assuming it was a mistake. Sure enough, after a number of tests, my doctor confirmed I have afib and referred me to a cardiologist. But I did show the app to my doctor, she advised what things in particular to keep an eye on as well as recommended physical things that if I feel I need to go to the hospital. This is a great app. I rarely will purchase apps from the Apple Store, but all things considered, this was something worth buying the premium package. 7$ is such a small price to pay to get detailed, in depth reports when I have a serious health issue. The only suggestion I would make, and this may be in there and I missed it, is a section to monitor your stress levels if possible since that can take a toll on one’s heart. Otherwise, great job and a huge thank you to the developers for this wonderful app!
