Finally giving up

After many years of (trying) to use this app (love/hate relationship) I am finally throwing in the towel. This app (on a daily basis) has issues communicating with my iwatch. Every morning I wake up to hit the gym (4:00 am) I always have to overcome this problem. Many agree the hardest part of a workout is getting there. For me it is the total frustration with getting this app to connect with my iwatch!! I guess I am the poster child for the definition of insanity. For a long time, going through the same motions every morning expecting (hoping, a better term) for a different result. Count me out for tomorrow morning and any future mornings.

Great for Spinning

I have used this app for the past 3 years in conjunction with my heart monitor. I have found the calorie count and other statistics offered in this app to be quite useful. I especially enjoy the ability to review past performances and compare them to my current results. The ability to edit the data (filling in missing information) allows me to have complete historical results. As an example, some of the spin cycles I use do not transmit the mileage. The ability to enter the mileage after the fact enables me to have continuity in my results. I would highly recommend this app for anyone seeking an easy and accurate method to track your exercise results.

I have been using it for years and it keeps getting better.

I have been using this app for at least six years. Well at times it loses a little bit of functionality, it comes back and gains more. I am very meticulous and this app covers every statistic I would like to track. Other than some finicky coupling with heart rate monitors here and there, I really don’t have that many complaints at all. Out of all the workouts this is by far the best, IMO..

Good app; inconsiderate developers

The app is fine - good selection of different exercises, good tracking. However... with most updates, the marketing gets in the way of usage - telling you all about new stuff when you’re just trying to start a workout, or asking for a rating (and review!) when you conclude a workout. They seem not to consider that MY heart rate zones are what I want and set their own by default (with voice announcements! Bah!), and put the controls in new places. Irritations aren’t enough to make me switch apps but enough to vent in this review.

Don’t use with Apple Watch

I’ve had this app for awhile. I usually use it with a chest strap and it’s flawless. Five stars if for just that. But issues with the chest strap have caused me to use my Apple Watch. The app takes forever to connect to the watch, if at all. When it does connect often times the heart rate freezes or doesn’t register. It stops and starts to register. I’ve tried all the trouble shooting tips and they work once then it’s back to square one. I’m have a gen one Apple Watch.

Loved this app but so janky now.

Wish they’d get the updates to work well. Now I have moved from chest strap to Apple Watch and there are so many problems. App is completely janky. Almost every day that I workout I have to uninstall and reinstall the app off the watch and a few times per week on the phone as well. The stability of tracking HR and workouts is almost completely unreliable. It’s really saddening bc at this point I’m thinking it’s time to move to another app. Just sad bc I think I’ve been using this since 2012? I’ll be thrilled to update this to a rave review if anything changes!

Best App Award

This app is by far one of the best apps out there! I’ve been using iCardio for years now and there’s always new development or feature that gets me excited and keeps me engaged. The GUI is completely configurable where you can modify view and swap features. I also like getting my weekly and monthly performance summaries visually describing gains and room for improvement. To top all that customer service response time is practically instantaneous and no inquiries go unsettled, kudos!

Stopped working

I have been using this app for a couple of years with my scosche heart rate monitor and originally liked it so much I paid for extra features. I just got a new scosche heart rate monitor and could not get it to work with this app. I deleted my old one and now this app will not pair with the new or the old one. Customer service has been quick and nice but they cannot figure out what is wrong or help. I downloaded another app and it pairs with the heart rate monitor just fine. I have followed the trouble shooting instructions several times and this app just will not find the heart rate monitor, old or new. I went from loving this app to not being able to use it at all. When I first got this app it was very easy to use and pairing took just a moment.

Best app for fitness tracking I have found

I like that it syncs with any Bluetooth monitor and uses Heard- rate data to derive caloric burn. Many other low cost apps use time and activity and your weight metrics and I have found these estimates significantly lower. I’d rather they be lower for my weight loss or maintenance goals, so I love it and recommend it to fitness conscious friends. It also can provide data to Fitbit or apple health, both of which I use. Highly recommend!

No real lap timer

It has a limited split timer if you want to use one of their pre-defined times or distances. No real lap timer. At the end of the run you cannot look back and see the time it took you to run between point C and point D . On the mobile app it does give you split based on when you push the button. But that same activity on the website makes you choose a specified distance or time. Even though your laps are more likely to be landmarks… And does not even show when you push the lap button When you analyze your data on your PC.
