Needs SmartWAN Configuration
Good App, does what it is supposed to do for the majority for sure. Could become a Great App if you integrate the SmartWAN configuration from the Internet Config in the router to the App.You might ask why - well in years past Load Balance with Fail-Over was a set it and forget function. Now things have changed for many - if you are running Starlink you'll know that Mr Musk's promises are not 24/7 - there are times where instead of 100M download you're maybe getting 10M. Having the "slider" out of the router to change from 90/10 to 10/90 quick and easy would be fantastic and a whole lot quicker than logging into the router twice - once to set it and again to change it back.
Dark Mode
Like the re-design, needs dark mode though!
2.4ghz items can’t connect to network
They constantly drop out, and it always says incorrect password no matter how many times i change or reset the password on that network. I changed away from smart connect to manually control the process but now it’s worse and 100% failure instead of 80% fail rate.
Managing a Router
Synology makes managing a router fun and easier. I can protect my family from those wishing to do harm. Also, I’ve learned a lot about managing networking from their easy to use software.
Great start
It’d be great to include more items like radio/network/testing from the perspective of the router via the app.For what the app does offer, it’s done well and is responsive whether local or remote.For the advanced feature sets you’ll need a tablet or larger web browser to fully access the current WebUI.
Almost there!
Many have stated it...it’s a solid start but needs a little more. The app is not full function. The router has a lot to it but the app does not 100% control of it. I have the IPS app and I get alerts all the time through the app but I am not able to click an alert and still down on that alert like I can accessing it in the browser. If you ConnectTo setup with your router, you can access it through Safari but the experience is not great. Again, just wish there was more control in the app. It’s almost like this was just a “let’s build it and see what happens” and the there are two separate groups working on this at Synology...one group on the app and another on the SRM (operating system of the router).
Solid app for solid router
The app provides everything that’s needed for basic setup, maintenance, monitoring, etc. There are some more advanced things that need to be done through the SRM web interface, but I feel that Synology did a good job balancing simplicity vs. functionality here. My only complaint is that it doesn’t offer dark mode.
No updates to the app. Cannot search for blocked IPs
The app is a great concept. It doesn’t give me the ability to do either search for blocked IP’s. Or to go over to the next page. Security wise it’s a good feature but the app doesn’t have the functionality to search for blocked IP’s or to scroll over to the next page to continue to search for IPs manually. I hope the developer fixes this soon

Can this be modified so that I can assign a device to a specific Wi-Fi point?Currently they jump from one to another and not always the best connection.
A work in progress; why no desktop mode?
I love the router. I love my many Synology boxes - 8 and 18 drive units. I think DSM is a decent piece of Linux management software. I think SRM is a very nice porting of DSM to a router. This app, however, leaves much to be desired. What it does it does adequately. The basic overview in real-time is even quite good. The fact one cannot fully administer the router through the app - probably 60% of functions are unavailable - is highly annoying. Why can’t I access the DHCP table? Why can’t I add to the DHCP reservations? These are fairly basic admin functions. I wouldn’t mind except that there is NO WAY to access SRM via iOS except using the app. It CANNOT be reached by a browser. That is UNACCEPTABLE!!! The DSM app offers desktop mode to obviate the fact it doesn’t allow access to most functions, why doesn’t the DS Router app??? With that it would have 3-4 stars.
