Absolutely garbage system

I just purchased a condominium in November and unfortunately this Comelit system was already installed in the building. It’s been an absolute nightmare. I just a few minutes ago needed to stand outside in the dark street ( Manhattan NY) and fiddle with deleting and re downloading the app for about the 20th time and hoping I can catch someone’s WiFi to do it. Meanwhile 2 shady men walking back and forth watching me. The repair person stated they already addressed the issues. I’ve literally needed to stay at a friends home when it’s really bad. Comelit system you’re absolutely the worst. Definitely Not recommended for vulnerable people who need to get safely into their building or hone quickly .

The new callkit implementation ruined this

This app went from mostly usable to working only half the time after the CallKit update. The new lockscreen adds an additional step or 2, which makes it take even longer to open the door. In addition, about half the time this times out, so I have to run around to open the door. My visitors have to wait extra in the cold winter to get in. Please fix this workflow and make it intuitive for your users - both those that open the door and those waiting out in the cold.

Sort of mostly works. Usually

Our building got rid of our doormen in favor of this app. For the most part, for me, anyway, it works. Except when it doesn’t (about 30% of the time) and I get weird messages on a few attempts. Also people who are ringing in often have to call me so I can let them in instead of the app letting me know they are here. On weeknights I see delivery people crowding around the panel trying to reach their customers so this suggests that our building should have either used a different system or kept the doormen.

Worked better before update

Comelit worked well for the most part until the recent update. Before, I would get a lock screen notification of a call, tap on it and it would open the app where I can unlock the door. Now I get a phone call from Comelit instead of a buzzing notification and I have to select the Comelit option in the phone call, unlock my phone, and then enter the app. It isn’t very intuitive to figure out and we missed a package delivery the first time we got the phone call. It also adds an extra step and increases the chances of missing the call altogether.

The Comelit VIP app was dreadful, this is worse

Our 13 unit building has suffered for 2 years with the shortcomings of the Comelit VIP Remote app. It’s now been replaced by the Comelit app, which is even worse. The former version had many superfluous menu options that interrupted attempts to communicate with an outside caller. The new version has just as many or more. It also very often displays an error message in the middle of an attempt at communication that reads ‘Device not activated’ or ‘Device not registered’ although all procedures for activation and registration have been completed and confirmed. Once in a while, completely unpredictably, it actually works. When that happens it looks like a functional system. But the next 5 times, it bombs out. It’s quite a disaster, I can’t imagine what made the companythink it was ready for release.

Does not work whatsoever

Tried using it for the device on my apartment. Registration and setup worked. However, after awhile it just wouldn’t work. “Device not registered , please retry” no matter how many times I’ve tried it. Deleted the app and tried again but it’s taking way too long for the activation via cloud to complete. This is making receiving my package difficult. And it doesn’t help that from this that I’ve also learned that FedEx has awful customer support. Tried finding ways to troubleshoot this issue but nothing is available.

Complete Doorbell System

Once we familiarized ourselves with Comelit, we couldn’t be more satisfied. The app permits a variety of options to open the door that range from simply answering the doorbell in-person to remotely viewing guests, delivery personnel and various business people and speaking to them or simply alerting them to open the gate at the buzz. So many other convenient features are also available, but you get the picture.

Possibly the worst piece of technology I’ve ever used

My condo in Chicago uses this app. I wish I could rate it zero stars. It works as it should maybe 5 percent of the time. Usually, I get the ‘device not registered’ issue. My condo building helpfully (not) informed us that sometimes if you delete and re-add the app, it will sometimes work, sometimes it will not. That is also really ridiculous.. if I (or someone else) is waiting outside the door to get in, in the pitch black, in the south loop of Chicago, it’s not ideal for them to redownload. If a guest or delivery is coming, I essentially have to meet them downstairs every single time. I hate this system so much. I have never been more frustrated with a piece of technology in my life.Also note that there are a ton of fake reviews from May 13th and 15th jacking up this app’s rating. Almost every real customer has given it negative reviews. It’s pretty obvious when there are no reviews for months and then suddenly there are 15 reviews for 1 day that are all 3 words long and in broken English.

Doesn’t Work

Connected my “Porter” / “Door Entry System” (door bell / intercom in a big building). This took way too long. Manually typing in the wifi password oh man. Finally showed up and worked, with my device appearing at the top of my dashboard. Closed the app. Opened it again and am now missing my device and even the category for my device is missing - even though I’m logged in. The solve was to log out. Log back in click manage devices, you’ll see the “Door Entry System” is missing. Click a random other type of device. It will say nothing found. Then, surprise your device shows back up in your dashboard. They really need to take this through some debugging...

Won’t go into vpn

I loaded the app , when it asks for permission I grant it , I go to connect but it won’t , it says to find new devices you must activate the Wi-Fi connection, I tried deleting the app , I tried resetting my phone, it won’t show up on vpn , I loaded app on my wife’s phone which is the same as mine, iPhone 14 pro , both up to date , can’t figure out
