App needs fixed, but love the selection

I’ve already sent a message to the Help email provided. The App was working great for me for the longest time, but now it will not “bookmark” my progress and forces me to work through each chapter to determine where I left off last. I can’t even use the track selection to jump between tracks to advance faster. I prepaid for a full year but I’m rethinking my renewal if this feature isn’t resolved soon. $80+ is a lot to spend for something that isn’t working properly.

Horrible App Support/Help

So far my rating would be lower than a 1 if I could. The app plainly isn’t working for us. We get an error message nearly every time we click on a book to play, on the rare occasion that it lets us start listening to a book the book will stop playing a couple chapters in, they keep charging me the quarterly membership fee monthly, apparently reset another membership every time we delete and re-install the app as per one of the few FAQs that they have, they apparently have no customer service help as all you can do is leave a message on their Facebook or Twitter and once in a while they get back to you. The repeated overcharging is starting to border on theft since they won’t return messages, forcing me to go through my bank to dispute the charges. There is a great market for audiobooks, but this company isn’t ready to fill the niche.

Great concept. Infuriating at times

I’ve been using the app for a week or so. I do really like it but the inconsistency of if it is going to remember where I left off is REALLY frustrating. I listen to books as I work so I pause quite often. Sometimes it remembers exactly where I stopped. Sometimes it takes me back to the beginning of a chapter close to where I stopped and sometimes it is almost to the beginning of the book. I try to make note of where I am when I stop but rarely have the chance. I have made sure that the app is up to date so that isn’t an issue.

I really wanted to continue to purchase a plan.. but

I purchased the subscription for a month, and while I absolutely loved the selection of indie romance books available I had to cancel for one very big important reason. It will only allow me to go up to 1.75x speed, which is a dealbreaker. I typically listen at 3x the speed, so even at the fastest speed available I feel as though I’m listening in slow motion. I truly believe this could be the best audiobook app out there. Ever since Audible got rid of Audible Escape I’ve been looking for the alternative, and this could be a huge success, but your losing customers with the lack of basic functions that readers use. Please fix this soon and I’ll gladly give you my money.

Gone Downhill fast

I’ve had this app for more than a year and at the beginning I loved it so much. Great selection and an occasional glitch that I could overlook. Now I literally can’t use the app anymore. It never holds my spot and will always start the book at a random place (or the beginning) and if I try to go directly to a certain spot (knowing I should keep track since I will lose it when I close) it won’t go there via table of contents and I have to manually skip chapter after chapter to find my spot. It occasionally loses the books on my saved list and sometimes just completely won’t play certain parts of a book, no matter what workarounds I may use to try to get there. Id love to keep using them and unfortunately i’m locked in for another 6 months, so I guess we can wait and see if the issues resolve, but I certainly wouldn’t recommend at this point. Unusable.

Used to be great but going downhill

I loved Anyplay in the beginning and have had a yearly subscription for a few years. I recommended it to so many people but had to stop because it appears that they are no longer updating the app and there are so many issues when listening to books. It also seems the devs are not interested in customers feedback or improving the app. Even their social media pages are not being updated. There are so many issues and requests for improvement that just go unanswered.

Used to love, but having chronic issues

I have been using this app for a few years now and it was exactly what I wanted. A subscription service for audiobooks. I don’t want to buy the book, I just want to rent it and then move on! AnyPlay was great for that and it has a pretty good selection of books. But for the past 6 months or so, I have had CONTINUAL issues with my audiobook glitching. My books will start over just from the beginning after closing out the app and I can’t skip ahead from the table of contents bc it just starts back at chapter one over and over again. I’ve tried deleting the app and re-downloading it. I’ve tried contacting customer service and while they will get back to me, the issues just continue to occur EVERY TIME. Now it’s been freezing on me. I’ve unfortunately had to unsubscribed because I’m not going to pay for a service that I can’t use. Hopefully these glitches will be resolved.

Great app with amazing selection!

I’ve been on a hunt fo great audiobook apps, and Anyplay satisfied almost all of my needs. Not only does it have such a broad selection of books (and it keeps up well with new releases), their home page also helps me discover new books! The user interface is pretty friendly and easy to navigate. And the audiobooks are all high quality!That said, there are a few issues that would make the experience even better:1) more speed selections for mobile — as someone who likes to listen to audiobooks quickly, I think going beyond the 1.75x speed would be great2) perhaps showing how much time is left in the whole book rather than the amount of time left in a chapter (I usually track my reading so that’d make it easier)3) remembering the speed that the reader previously selected — it’d just make things more convenientOverall, I had a great experience with Anyplay!

Great app, but it could be more accessible.

I love the concept of this application. You can read as many books as you want rather than having to just buy certain books. I also like the sound quality of the books.I use a screen reader however. The buttons are not labels for screen readers, so it takes a little bit to figure out which buttons to what. Even that isn’t very hard, though. though. I love the concept of this application. Great Selection!

There is an amazing selection of romance audiobooks! I’m happy to say that both traditionally published and indie published books are available. The price is unbeatable and I can’t wait to explore this app more.A few things that could use improvement:1. More speed selections. My usual starting speed for audiobooks is between 1.5x and 1.8x speed on other apps. The max on AnyPlay is 1.75x which is one of the lowest speeds I use. Also, a clearer speed icon for newbies to audiobooks. It currently looks like an old fashioned dial knob.2. Better categories for browsing. Romance by itself is a huge genre and is divided into many sub genres. There isn’t a great way to discover new authors/books on the iOS app. You basically have to search authors by name to see if any of their audiobooks are available. I’d love to see just how many romance titles are available in total. Also, a filter of some sort to browse ALL romance titles and their sub genres (historical, contemporary, paranormal, fantasy, sci-fi, new adult, sports romance, dark romance, etc) is a must!3. Time left update. When increasing the speed of the audio, the “time left in book” remains the same. I like to see how long it will take me to finish a book. It’s hard to tell when you’re listening on 1.75x speed and it still says 9 hours left.
