Amazing and Intuitive

This is the app that, after just a few uses, makes you wonder how you got along without it. It’s intuitive. It makes sense. And it does things that seem simple, but of course they’re not because if they were, other apps would have done them long ago. At first, you might (like me) ask “why in the world did it take so long for someone to invent this?”, but then, hopefully, you’ll abandon that line of inquiry because it doesn’t matter. What matters is that you now have an app that *helps you think* as you arrange components to work through calculations. That’s the magic, in my view.

So much potential…

Tydlig is a truly unique calculator app. No competitor can match its human-readable, easily organized interface. Perfect for dealing with multiple equations at once, Tydlig brings a versatility not before seen in the calculator app market.Unfortunately, the developer has neglected this app for quite a while now, and the bugs in the app are quite evident—in my experience, graphing, which is rather confusing in the first place, causes the app to crash a good 50% of the time. There is no 3D Touch support, forcing iPhone 6s and 7 users to resort to long-press actions that unnecessarily slow down one's workflow and thereby reduce productivity. This app is a great start and concept, but it doesn't feel fully polished, and seems as though it has been abandoned by its developer.

Best Calculator App Ever!

I have been using your calculator app for quite a few years. I have tried a lot of other calculator apps, but I have always liked using this one. This is my Default calculator app. Some apps have developed some good features over time, but the user interface is still the same old calculator style. Your app is very easy to use. Very easy to create a long calculation and change any one of the numbers without redoing the whole calculation. I have also had to create multiple separate calculations to obtain certain figures, and then tap and move each of the answers to another line and add them together. So Easy To Do! Your app also shows a line from the spot where the figure came from. This calculator app is so Unique and Great to use. PLEASE KEEP UPDATING YOUR APP. Do Not Stop. There is no other calculator app in the App Store that even comes close! I hope this app never goes away! THIS IS THE BEST!

My default calculator app

This is by far the best calculator app I have ever used. I love that it tries to be its own app instead of copying every other calculator app out there. I’ve been a happy user for years and I hope there is never a day that I’m forced to switch to another calculator app. It’s very hard to make me switch from the default iPhone apps and in this case it felt necessary. That’s how good this app is. I wish there was a donation option somewhere because, I don’t know how you guys make your money, but I do not want this app to ever go a way and I’d like to see further development for years to come. I’ve had so many of my favorite apps stop being updated I’m scared this app will follow. You guys deserve to be making some money, add a yearly subscription option or something.

Unique, Enjoyable Calculator With Good Export

THE GOOD:Unique approach to a calculator - dare I say Brilliant? An ongoing record is kept as you work.Basic operations are easy to learn and remember.Calculations can be annotated with text.Support for graphing.Export calculations as plain text via Copy - works with single number, single line, or entire canvas).Exports to high quality PDF.Split screen support on iOS 11 for iPads. THE BAD:No way to import calculations from other apps (using say cut-and-paste).I find Graphing somewhat unintuitive - but maybe that's just my own issue. WHAT COULD BE IMPROVED:Support for fractions would be very convenient for work workers, and those in construction trades. All calculations are performed a single session - restored each time to restart the app. However, it might be handy to have support for creating, saving and restoring multiple sessions. Thanks to developer for this latest iOS 11 update!

Needs more functions

At first it is a bit to get used to; however, if you find you are using formulas that are using the same results over and over again, this is awesome. Once you get the flow of the calculations, it is pretty straight forward from there. I do wish there were more functions, say combinations and permutations, i, the list can go on. Every result can be reused. Once you get that, you will never need M, M= or M- again. I do wish also it could do more pages. It has been a while for an update. I am hoping the developer is still invested.

Innovative way to deal with Calculation

I I am looking for the way to deal with calculation that have graphic that show Relatinship of variable. Excel is great but I need to draw the line to show the relationship to help other to follow the flow. I am still using excel to host most to basic calculations I use for my work. I see this is a good start and still need more functions such as ; multiple work sheets that user can organize different type of calculations, some protection form accidentally delete the item; protection that still allow th change input; graphic frame types to group or highlight frequently use group. For more advance function, picklist input, toggle to pass data and the option to hide complex calculation as a group that still get input(s)and express output(s), those will be great.

Beautiful and imaginative

Amazing new approach to a calculator. The last few updates have made it far handier and more powerful then the original release. However please please please add the ability to save and load computations. It would make this app a lot more usable. Lots of times I have a bunch of calculations set up and need to work on something else before going back to them but I have to use a different program since there is no way to bring back what I was working on if I clear it to do something else. Add that and this would be one of my most used apps by far. And if you add saving/loading it opens up opportunity for sharing templates, etc among the tydlig community.

Still great but maybe some In App Purchases could fund new features

So what's new with the newer versions since I bought this? Support for iPhones and iPads I don't own and support for newer iOS versions (of no obvious value to me). And being nagged to review a new version that offers me no new features is pretty annoying.I'd like to be able to save separate 'pages' or 'work surfaces'. I get it that supporting new hardware and new OS software involves real work and costs real money, and takes real time. But I'd gladly pay for multiple pages! And I'll do so via an in-app purchase. If you provide me with real value, I'll gladly give you real (if modest) money.I'd also pay for an in-app purchase that *disables 'review me!' notifications*! Or, you know, just stop nagging me to do so for free. I'll gladly give you a five star review for that change. And you can even nag me to review one last time after I upgrade to the version with that 'feature'.

Best and Most Useful App

Love this app. Been using it for years. It saves a lot of time than just manually figuring things out. I do have some few but can be big improvements suggestions.1) A way to move a line of equations together. Sometimes these equations are too close when they are created and it’s hard to move one number at a time to give more spacing from other top and bottom equations. 2) A way to move groups or collections of equations. Once I’ve created a set of connected equations, it’s hard to move them to another area if the page.3) A way to save and open equations you have created. I had a lot of good and long equations from one phone and I bought another. There was no way to restore, copy or open my old equations on my new phone. 4). Tab of equations to better grouping purposes.

Description

Calculators have changed very little since the 1970s - while phones from that era look ancient. Why should calculators cling to a 40 year old design with a wall of buttons and one row for results in the age of retina displays? We deserve something better.

Tydlig brings the calculator to the next level for iPhone & iPad with innovations like freeform canvas, responsive results and linked numbers. Tydlig is perfect for calculating everyday things like tips and discounts, showing the entire history and allowing you to change any number with instant updates. For deeper calculations real-time graphing is an excellent way to explore and visualize things like bank interest rates and trigonometric functions. Features: * Responsive results: Edit any number on the canvas and see all results update automatically. Let your calculator work for you, not the other way around. * Linked numbers: With a result selected, press any operation to create a linked number below. Responsive results will cascade down these links. * All history is stored on an infinite scrolling canvas. Drag numbers around and reuse them as you wish. * Annotate any number with an attached text label, like a freestyle spreadsheet. * Real-time graphing: Link numbers to a graph and any change to the expression will instantly update the graph. Perfect when trying to explore how functions work and behave. * Use the Slider to tweak any number and see results and graphs update in real-time. Combined with the graph it is an excellent way to visualize and teach math. Tap the slider to toggle between discrete and continuous modes. * Share the entire canvas by printing, or exporting as a high quality PDF. You can also copy calculations as text, or save the visible area as an image which can be used in other applications like Pages or Word. * Undo support. * Supports external Bluetooth keyboards for really quick digit and basic operations entry (+, -, *, /). * Tydlig works completely offline, no need to be connected to the internet. * Lots of power under the hood with a lightning fast calculation engine, over 20 mathematical functions and scientific notation formatting options.
