User Reviews for The Last Dungeon
Really disappointing.
This game looked beautiful when I downloaded it; an impressive contrast between pixel art, bloom effects and dynamic lighting, with interesting fighting mechanics to boot, from what I’ve seen. Unfortunately, however, I haven’t seen much — when attempting to load into a level the game immediately plays an ad that crashes the app to home screen without fail every time. Without getting started on the state of free-to-play app store games being plagued with incessant ads, this makes the game quite literally unplayable. I’d love to give this game a review based on more than the first 15 seconds of exploration, but I can’t even get out of the beginning hub area… so here’s a review on that, I suppose? It somehow feels both cluttered and sparse at the same time; cluttered with elements that detract from the otherwise lovely scenery, but also sparse in terms of the amount of NPC interaction, which also happens to be full of grammatical errors that just give off a general aura of laziness with regards to the care that went into, what appears to be, the main area of the game. Who knows? Maybe things get better when you actually start… y’know, playing the game, but I don’t think I’ll ever be able to get that far. Incredibly disappointing.
Potential 5 Star
I’ve played this game for a month and it’s been very enjoyable. The dungeon crawler is unlike any on the Apple store rn, but the bugs make it almost unplayable. Getting chests for completing dungeons only works half the time, the news page is bugged and broken, buying characters and upgrading them is useless Bc the game will forget you ever bought them, and sometimes when you get far in the dungeon the game will crash or stop working. The game is very enjoyable and I really love playing it but with these bugs the game is unplayable. Once these bugs are fixed the game will be a 5 star game and I think will have a bright future in the mobile gaming industry.
Great game: also bugfix request
Love the game, easy to get good enough at and only have to spend money if you want to support devs. Overall very fun and balanced and nice to figure out what kind of playstyle you want (variety of weapons that all function massively differently, perks, etc) Small bug: at the third boss he spawned on top of me, it wouldn’t let my character move, then I immediately died when he attacked since all of his attacks hit me. Shame it was a run that brought me to 17th on the leaderboard would’ve liked to have pushed further. Not a deal breaker for the game though doesn’t happen every time just wanted to report it.
Broken gameplay
Honestly a very refreshing dungeon crawler but the character development isn’t fleshed out at all. In the main lobby at the guy who you can upgrade yourself at all the gems and upgrades up put towards my character have just been deleted after one dungeon honestly either lower the cost of upgrades, make gems more obtainable, or this one makes the most sence make the upgrades permanent. Although yes it’s a good system late game players might grow bored and leave so a more fleshed out skill and level system might be adequate Also maybe different armour type like projectile armour or boss specific prices that have a small chance to drop. But make the enimies more unique like the robot enimies have them do electric damage to make the player slower or poison damage to take small damage over time also I’d say the in dungeon upgrade system is perfect. Another thing is when I go and try to sign up no matter what I do it doesn’t let me make an account
So much potential
Completely ruined by ads, literally it’s unplayable, every level is cut with a 5 second ad sometimes you spawn directly into a boss level while the ad is playing thus killing you… option to revive your character once costs 50 credits, $1, or a 30 second ad, of which will do the EXACT SAME THING!!! Spawn you up against the boss before you can even move away from him thus killing you instantly. Another frustrating concern is how TERRIBLE the shop prices are especially KEYS, DO NOT buy them they are absolutely terrible as most locked chests rarely give you an item worth a 15+ coin cost, paying up towards 40 coins for a KEY to unlock a chest that only yields 15 coins & NO ITEM? NOT EVEN COMMON JUNK?? I love the combat mechanics, aim bot killing NPCs w/ your buddies is going to be very fun except for the above notes, I can’t give this game higher than 2 stars for now, will return.
Bugs and frightening UI
Developers, if you are truly reading this I have to tell you. Your game crashes, like a lot. And sure that’s not so bad. But you KEEP YOUR ITEMS AND COINS. I literally have 1k coins on the first level because my game keeps crashing consistently. Your game has too much glare to the point where you can’t see the items, and there are spelling mistakes🤣. Finally, when I got the game I had no idea what to do, how the menu works and everything. I had no idea how to do anything until I saw the tiny little interact button, you know why I couldn’t see it? The glare. That portal has got to be the light equivalent of 6 suns. I can see this was a passion project, and the game flows so well. Oh also this is so annoying, when you watch a ad, especially during the first boss, it doesn’t pause the game, so your either getting one shotted or bodied by skeletons. Sometimes I enter a boss room and die instantly because the boss spawns on me, this game has got more unfair twists than dark souls.
Great game but 1 small issue
I have an iPhone 13 and the game runs perfect except for on one of the ads the x to close the ad does not pop up. I have to close the game and can no longer keep my progress in the current dungeon. It is annoying to play for a good run just to have it canceled completely by this bug. I can’t play the game because I know this will happen eventually so I can’t try to get any extended runs. Thank you for the great game, but I will not play anymore until this is fixed. Please and thank you.
Great game but bad bugs…
I want to give this review 5-Stars because it definitely deserves them for the gameplay and graphics. The game has so many different options for weapons and different dungeons. I can spend hours playing this game at a time. The reason i gave it 2 stars is because of the glitches and bugs in the game. I donated/purchased all of the options because I liked the game so much and the Dev deserves some extra money but not even a day after i purchased the extras, my game crashes and when i reopen the game everything is gone. As if i didn’t purchase anything. The chests in the main area won’t open nor change the countdown timer. No matter how much currency i spend on the chest or watch countless ads, nothing changes it. Because of this my game crashes everytime i finish a dungeon because I don’t have any spaces left and the game won’t let me click the “Okay :(“ button so i have to force close the game out. I messaged support and haven’t gotten any responses back. If I can get some help id love to change my review.
Has potential
I was starting to like the game and was thinking the in-game purchases were pretty incentivizing, however, after playing for a few hours the game mechanics became bugged. There is a chest when you start the app, but I can’t open it. I’ve opened it once before. Then there are 3 reward chests. They are all stuck on the same time, 10:23:11, and I’ve tried spending gems on them several times to no avail. I’ve checked in a few times over the last month to see if it was resolved and I see it hasn’t. Anyhow, games broken for me.Also the fact that you have to make sure not to kill the last enemy near a wall is annoying - otherwise you can’t open the room chest.
My opinion
This is really cool, reminding me of soul knight (which is a good thing) so I love this. There are still some bugs, but that’s okay. But I think you should lessen how much glare and flare there is. I know you’re trying to make the game look nice (which it really does) but sometimes less is more. Or you can make it an option to lessen the effects and lights. I know it’s already an option. But there could be levels to how much you can lessen the glare and effects like lights. Also there are some bugs with items and entities getting outside the playable field, making them unreachable, does get annoying sometimes. Also there’s to much unnecessary rooms and hallways. Also you should make it wear to go through the portal, you have to do an action instead of just walking in. But I think if you keep improving and updating, this game could be amazing. This game has amazing potential. Keep going at it.
