Game deserves to be 5 star... EXCEPT

It literally ends up playing like an ad watching simulator later in the game due to the sheer amount of things that one shot you. You hit the boss several times, inevitably it does a room wide attack, you can't do anything, you hit watch ad to revive with 3 hp, luckily all the bosses' attacks do more than 3 hp of damage. Rinse and repeat. Massive grind to upgrade anything. The game has great potential but is heavily limited by this. Then you accidentally hit give up (because it is oh so close to the revive button) and all the time you spent is wasted. Then you decide to delete the game. If you want to pay up, the revives initially are cheap, costing 1 hourglass, and you can get 45 hourglasses for $7.99, reasonable right? Except it very rapidly ramps up to costing 20 per revive. I appreciate the game a lot, it's very cool, but the way revives are handled and how many things outright kill you (and you WILL die, somethings are entirely unavoidable), just make the game as I mentioned earlier, an ad watching simulator. Hit something n number of times, do as well as you can, get cheesed, hit watch ad to revive, switch to doing something else, come back, repeat. Riveting gameplay. Later it gets to a point where you probably get 5-10 seconds of survival time per ad you watch lol.

Incredible game but could use better controls

Don’t get me wrong, I absolutely love this game. There are minimal ads which tend to be heavily shortened. Each hero is fun and exciting. The blessings really add something as well. But some things could be improved. I think that not having the ability to cancel abilities is limiting. The amount of coins/ad watching it takes to level up characters is too much. And do not think there are enough heroes. This game has some insane potential, but until some more is added, The game will probably stay at this volume of players and fun

Good, clean, addictive fun

I’ve played this game for about a month now and in that time I’ve logged 25 hours of gameplay. This game isn’t easy, especially at first. The palace seemed downright impossible the first few times I managed to reach there. Don’t give up! The variety of characters to unlock means there’s definitely one that will suit your play style. Each run is unique because of how many blessings there are that change how the game behaves in small (and sometimes not so small) ways! I always grab every blessing I can in hopes of discovering a new synergy. There are a number of great anti-frustration features included here. Got your eyes on a specific rare character but the summon seems to avoid it like the plague? For a fairly reasonable price you can manually unlock it. The fact that all the summoning and upgrading uses the readily available coins means you never have need to pay real money. The ability to “ban” certain blessings is also great for when there’s just that one that really annoys you. This game doesn’t have many bugs, and the ones I’ve encountered aren’t exactly major; the biggest being that sometimes all the achievements will seemingly re-unlock and you’ll be forced to watch all of the Game Center banners go by again.Overall, I cannot recommend this game enough. I know I certainly would play a sequel if they made one.

Good game; worried about later

I really enjoy playing the game. I haven’t encountered any major problems so far, but I have encountered something that could evolve into one. Some items are better than others, by a long shot. Nobody is trying to argue that Bird Feather and Debit Card are as good as Midas Touch or Thunderbolt. That’s normal for a roguelike. But Binary Scales scares me. It has ruined my run every time I have accidentally picked it up. It has no reason to have as bad of a downside as it does for the upside it gives you. It’s fine right now, because I can just ban it, but ban slots are expensive. I’m already banning 3 items that are actively harmful, so if another comes along every unknown item becomes a chance to lose the run.

Fun bite-sized gameplay

Simple rules and control that you can instantly get the hang of. All characters and blessings are unique in their own ways making a lot of replay value. The game is free to play friendly and it’s art style and rogue like feel is simply charming. Lots of double edged swords like sacrificing your health for attack speed(axe blessing) or longer range but with the price of easier to get stuck between monsters(archer passive). Bunch of randomness so sometimes you will end up with overpowered blessing and other times you will get garbage. If you’re concerned about the controls which people keep complaining about, it’s really not that bad. If you don’t like swiping, you can just tap instead. There’s sensitivity too for you to personally adjust if needed. The control was a breeze for me to handle and I think it will be for most as well. Most runs don’t last too long so it’s quick to play through. Definitely a five star and you should give this game a try!

Fun albeit with issues.

It’s combat is fun and the player should be thoughtful with their movements but there are 2 simple yet major factors in this that mess everything up. Enemies can turn the direction of where they look (and attack) while on the same time. Your character will have to move a tile up, down, left or right to change direction. Enemies are also unaffected by floor elements like slime or ice. While you get stuck or slip around, your adversaries can move about just fine. Luckily fire tiles and spikes still deal damage to enemies but I wouldn’t be surprised to see the dev team change that as well.

Fun but progress is a little too slow.

Been plugging away at it casually for about a month and, at first I didn’t know that you could even summon since it wasn’t obvious and I still have no ide what the essences are for. But the biggest problem is that even after a whole bunch of tries I can’t get past the levels that come after the second big boss. There is also some sort of weird enemy in the floor there with no obvious way to kill it. It’s just not progressing so I’m deleting now.

I really like the game with one gripe

Games great, cant complain but one thing i noticed that irks me is when you buy a soul at the campfire to get a random character it costs 1000 gold. Now when you do that theres a chance you get a character that you already have, and when you do you only get 4 exp for that character - which wouldnt be so bad if i couldnt just watch an AD and get 4 exp for my character. This coupled with the fact that talking to the princess and watching an ad only gives you 500 gold, makes it feel like im getting ripped off for buying a soul. Soul costs 1000 goldIf duplicate character get 4 expYou could just watch an ad for 4 expWatching an ad for gold only gives 500 goldOver the course of my ~5 hours of play time i have only collected about 5 characters and have already gotten 3 duplicates, this is very frustrating especially early on when i dont have much variety but it actually becomes a problem as you progress as you will hit a point where buying souls will be a profit loss as a whole. You gotta change this

Decent game

I think Guidus is a decent game to play. My biggest issue is the movement. I think that the one hand swipe to move the character gets in the way and causes more harm than good. It's easy to mis-swipe at times, causing me to step into an attack, as well as using my charge attack on accident. Sometimes, the swiping itself isn't even responsive, resulting in my character staying still for a brief period of time, and getting hit. Adding another way to move, maybe tapping, could help, then sliding for the special ability. Or, just add a button for the skill attack on the screen, and take away the hold slide feature. If not that, then turn the game horizontal, so that there is more room on the screen to slide, calling for a two handed experience.

good but a pet peeve

okay so this game is like AMAZING i really really like it, i’ve played like 82 hrs so far? But something that always bugs me is the fact that if i pause the game and leave for more than like 1-5 minutes, my run is automatically ended and i lose all of the progress. Is there anything i can do to make this stop happening? and if not so far, is there any way it would be able to be implemented to have maybe an option or a checkbox or something to save my run for the next time i log in (since i love playing when i’m waiting in line, etc, but it never gives me enough time to finish a full run).
