Still in the Alpha stage of development

I love Star Trek and so I have been excited to jump in and play. I am probably about 30 hours into game play and while I really have enjoyed the concept but definitely missing the mark. There are consistent issues with glitches and bugs. Menus or buttons will break and you won’t be able to exit or interact with anything. Notifications will get stuck and you won’t be able to get rid of a badge even though you’ve already acknowledged it. After about level 10 you are able to attack and be attacked by other players. Which would seem exciting except for there are no natural barriers that separates players. So it doesn’t matter that you’ve advanced to a certain level, someone that is 3x your power can easily attack your ship and destroy it. You can also do the same to others. The challenge is if you’re trying to complete missions or mine resources it is inevitable that within a few minutes you will be attacked and destroyed. As your ships become more and more powerful it takes longer and longer for them to repair. So get ready to wait 30 minutes to an hour for your ships to rebuild every time you login. I could go on about the things that aren’t quite there but this game has wasted enough of my time. Overall, great concept and if you have a week to blow on this game then do it. After that you’ll prolly get bored of it like so many other players and delete the app.

Pay to win is a reality

This game is fun, it’s a lot of fun. Cool missions, easy game play. I got to level 22, and now I realize it’s a complete pay to win system. Most games you can put in more time and actually compete. I’ve spent 45 dollars on this game and I’m still WAY behind the big guns. I thought I could grind it out, but it’s impossible. They offer massive upgrades that you can buy. They call these prime upgrades. And at the higher levels they are basically impossible to obtain. And it’s not just a small bonus. The bonus is like, double all ship damage for 20-50 dollars. And technically it’s possible to grind your way there, but i calculated that at a 20% drop rate for a rare mineral, and a 12 hour clock it would take a year to get one of these upgrades. And it doesn’t stop there by a long shot. You can pay to upgrade your officers and there is no limit. So people do it. I’ve heard of people dropping well over 1O,000 dollars for these crazy ships and crews. It’s just not fair. I’m all for paying for something’s, the game has to make money, but this game allows the ultra rich to absolutely dominate. I can’t blame them it’s a business, but they do not cap it. So I’m done. The game is actually a business and it’s not worth your time because people will just destroy your base, take your resources and there is nothing you can do about it. Well there is something you can do and it’s she’ll put some serious money.

Horrible support, money grab, lots of tech issues

This game was fun at the beginning and some of the graphics are kind of cool but it’s always been a bit of a cash grab and it’s only gotten worse. At the beginning technical support and customer support was a bit better if they shortchanged you or there was a technical error. They would try to make a good that was only for about probably six months. Now they don’t care about anything if you buy something in the game you have to hope and pray that you’re gonna get it. I’ve had a couple items that I’ve never gotten and yeah I got to be stupid to buy stuff right but you don’t get anywhere and you don’t advance. If you don’t buy stuff you are limited.I recently bought a pack for a ship and as trek fan of the voyager I was excited to get it. I bought two. Blue print packs. The ship cost 100 to build. Period 50 of the blueprint showed up. charged. I sent them a note and they said to reply back and they would make it. I replied, back showed evidence and I got a response back that no they would not make it had to go through Apple. I sent a note to Apple, who verify that I had spent it I had to go back to scopely. I sent scopely back a note and that was 4 days ago. No response. So it Has to be take them to court, the Better Business Bureau and the attorney general. Something as easy as making a valid they cannot do. Don’t play this game. Spend any money on it there’s been class actions against it. Because it’s an ultimate rip off.

Bully Magnet

The game itself is fun and can be challenging. Reasonable storylines based on various Star Trek genres with good, though often laggy, graphics. The downside is this game caters to spending. Yes, you can grow and advance without dumping money into it, but at a snail’s pace with very few rewards. Consequently the whales who dump tons of cash - and I am talking tens of thousands of dollars, advance rapidly and build monster ships that are maxed out. What makes it worse is that they can and do hunt weaker, much lower level players who don’t stand a chance of surviving a battle, in order to advance their players killed rating in strength in the leaderboards.By Scopely allowing this to happen it makes weaker players spend more to advance and get stronger quicker. In reality, the whales continue to grow and spend as well, you will NEVER be free from being hunted and destroyed. You will spend your resources repairing ships sitting in dock.Scopely needs to limit the ability of PVP to plus or minus five levels between combatants. It is ridiculous and completely unfair when a level 54 player with a ship with over 400M power be able to destroy a level 39 player whose strongest ship is only 3M power. It is obvious that Scopely loves the big spenders, despite the fact that they target and bully weaker players, ruining the quality of play.

Wish I could give it 5*

The concept behind the game is fantastic...but there is a very long way to go before it is 5* worthy. The PvP scale is WAY off. That needs to be addressed. Why is there no kind of alliance battle log? There are battle reports per individual, but leadership cannot see what is happening with our members. Why is there no way to check member activity? We have strict standards of activity, but the only way of knowing, is physically seeing a ship in motion, or seeing them in chat. Dead mining nodes are a huge problem. Lack of nodes for the amount of players are another. The uncommon material drops are preposterous for the amount that is required for upgrades and research. Who ever came up with that algorithm should be fired, and someone with half a brain put in their place. I’m at a complete standstill in building and ship upgrades because of this stupid wait time between refining materials, and the insane drop rate of uncommon. Now moving on to the ‘store’. May as well call it the black market. $100, just to be able to get ahead...Seriously ? This game is geared toward those that can afford to drop serious money to make any headway. And is in NO way friendly to those of us that have to work for what we get. Needless to say, there are numerous issues to address before your fan base drops, and business is lost.

3 stars

I gave three stars to star fleet command . One there is no alliances war being conducted with other alliances besides targeting miners with alliances or floating ships with alliance . Secondly the resources take to progress a ship is to long and only event ships are the best power houses. Thirdly the amount of officer exp needed to level them up and promote is to high for the quest rewards because at certain point in leveling the operation building . The fourth thing recruiting new officers or getting them promoted is to hard because can only get one character token . It is uncertain how many each of them need to maxed out . The missions do not recycled to get more officer exp or ship exp . Otherwise this free game for those who like destroying ships with some grind .Do not expect to get officers quicker or level them up quickly, or have any indication if there are more severs that are open to ios . This game can benefit by giving alliances more reward systems or give alliances sectors with mines only for that alliance. Other then speed upgrades and the eventual upgrade to do armadas. Low level alliance members can not participate in armadas which means they can not get rewards from it besides reducing the waiting period on upgrades. The last thing mention the roster of characters do not have the crew tag easily identified without having to click on the avatar to find out if they belong in that crew group.

Decent game ruined by developer’s optimization for making you pay

I downloaded this game hoping for a nice mobile version of Stellaris in the Star Trek universe and it is a decent version of that, I guess. You get to build and level up a star base and manage and level up your ships and crew. The MMO aspect isn’t terrible, although you seem to get ganked a lot if you leave your ship outside of your station when you’re not logged in.The problem is that playing it is like watching the home shopping network because you can’t do anything without having to click through a way to pay more money to reduce the pain of progression. Every resource either costs money or is in a random loot box so there is no strategy for resource management other than just keep clicking (unless you want to pay to click less). All the new content is behind battle passes and loot boxes so all you can do to meet your goals is just keep paying. When I added up all the cost in micro transactions to make this more like a decent PC game, I’d have to pay many multiple times what I’d pay for Stellaris on PC in order to make this game enjoyable. I get that the devs need to make money but I’d much prefer a monthly subscription to a decent game over the constant begging and slot machine mechanics that mobile gaming has become. If I wanted to hang out in a casino I’d go to Vegas.

Starts strong finishes weak, poor service

Do yourself a favor. Read the reviews, the star levels are pumped up, do the math. I have deleted this app. When I first started the game There were only a few bugs and had more than enough resources to help build. As with any strategy game when you progress resources become more scarce. Today there are more bugs that cause the game to glitch or just quit and when it does you lose all your hard earned Dilithium for no reason. I notified their customer service twice with no response. Once you pass level 9 it is next impossible to mine Dilithium And Other raw elements to help you build your ships upgrade your supplies and materials and station. I am at level 14 and won’t go beyond because once you go to level 15 then your station can be regularly attacked by others. The problem with is that just about everybody is subject to trolls. You can’t mine for minerals longer than five minutes before somebody is fighting with you and killing you. To keep up with everyone you need to buy upgrades. It starts out cheap at $5 but after you buy one or two you can only buy$25 items, then later only $50 items are available. If you ever watch the advertisement on TV the play of the game is nothing like that, you don’t see any video clips or epic battles. The commercial has nothing to do with the game. I started out enjoying the game now it just not worth playing. Don’t waste your time unless you got money to burn.

Great Strategy Game

I’m comparing the game to other strategy games like it, so the 5 stars is relative. There are things I don’t like about it, but comparatively speaking, it’s the best mobile strategy game I’ve ever played. (I’ve spent a lot of time playing Game of War: Fire Age and West Game as well as STFC.)First, I love Star Trek, so I’m biased right out the gate. Other things I like that separate it from other games: they give enough free peace shields per day if you do all your daily tasks to stay shielded 24/7. There are limits, especially for low level players, on who can attack you. Until you get higher level, only players within 2 levels of you can attack you. You NEVER run out of stuff to do. In fact, the more you play, it can get downright overwhelming how much there is to keep you busy. That being said, there are downsides. Like other strategy games, it’s impossible to be a top player without spending. There are a lot of f2p players who enjoy the game a lot, and you can do everything, but it just takes A LOT longer. I’m one of those who spends a little, and I’m in the mid-range as far as power. Of course, there are whales who spend thousands who you’ll never be able to compete with. However, my server, and I believe most if not all servers, have player-organized/enforced Rules of Engagement that limit bullying and sheer domination by p2p players.

Game is NOT Star Trek

Biggest problems are that the game is designed to be a predatory, player-eat-player mess. Players that shell out hundreds of dollars will always be able to beat you up and take your resources. Bases are upgradeable to ‘protect’ some of your resources, however the amount is extremely small and only a fraction of what you actually need to save up to do upgrades. If you want to keep people from raiding you, you have to shell out money to buy ‘peace shields’. Also, stupidly, you can’t use several smaller shields at once to have a longer shield, so your 1 hour and 4 shields are useless because you can’t cover a night of sleep or a work day with them. It only takes a few MINUTES for people to raid you and loot all your stuff, so even small gaps in protection will ruin you. Advancement is impossibly slow unless you shell out tons of cash. Upgrading officers and ships will literally take years without shelling out for multiple $99 bundles. Unlocking the base faction ships is doable with many months of farming, but anything above that will take you YEARS to unlock. Keep in mind that the resources you need to upgrade your bases and level are the same resources that upgrade your ships, so you can’t do both. So...years to upgrade base, then years to unlock a ship, then years to UPGRADE the ship. Gaining levels actually HURTS you in many ways. Quests you could complete yesterday are now impossible because the level of your target ships goes up.
