Do not invest real money in this game unless you can afford it

Looked forward to this games release and was there at the opening of the gates as they called it. I have been going along learning the game, building up ships and inventory and had created a decent little ship that could get me places and not die during the pve quests and activities. It was all taken away in 30 seconds. A much higher player took advantage of my lagging while warping to an area for a quest and while I was in a low security system attacked and destroyed my ship. When you lose your ship to another player, you lose it all. Time, money, investments, and the other player even gets some of the items you collected. Now I was aware of the PvP rules, however, I was not in a pvp area, was not attacking other players (was lagged out for some reason), and was sitting next to a place that should have( I thought was) protected (some areas are no-pvp areas; ie near warp gates or in high security systems) from being destroyed. Anyways, point being, don’t invest money in this game unless you are prepared to lose it, and by lose it I mean actually lose it. In order to get that ship back and the parts inside I had loaded up i estimate will cost me $$, and that’s not even factoring in the time involved to even find those high level items again. There is no getting it back or rebuilding. Only recourse I have is to repurchase it all. All because some aashat almost double my level decided to blow me out of space.

Do not play this game!!!

For those of you trying to decide weather this game is worth playing or not, let me help you with that. DO NOT PLAY THIS GAME!!! Not only is this a pay to win game, but any money spent is permanently lost to anyone that has spent more money. PVP is not controlled in this game and even when you’re in a “Safe Zone” you can still be attacked and lose everything you are currently equipped with. With that said if you have buckets of money laying around that you don’t mind waisting, go ahead and see if you have more than the next guy. This game does have lots of potential, but with the number of jerks out there that have nothing better to do than wait around quest npcs to ruin the day of any lower level player trying to complete quests the possible potential of this game is moot. In my opinion for a pay to win game, any money spent should be a permanent addition, not something that can be lost, stolen, or destroyed. I believe this is done intentionally to get people to spend more money. It is also my opinion that the DEVS also play this game to hunt down high paying customers and get them to pay more by destroying some of their things with hacked out ships and mods. DON’T WIAST YOUR TIME WITH THIS GAME.

Awesome Game If You Know What You’re Doing

Second Galaxy is a beauty of a mobile game in terms of art, graphics, and complexity. On the other hand, it’s not the game for everyone. There is a rough learning curve as well as an unforgiving PVP environment. Gameplay is similar to that of Eve’s, with noticeable differences and unique spins, but the core mechanics are the same. On the PVE side, you can have lots of story quests where you can fight NPCs, explore anomalies, produce items. On the PVP side, you can join large corps and alliances to fight in fleets, or go solo and fight in one-on-one duels in wormholes. There’s a lot to do in this game, but ultimately there’s always a risk factor— you can lose your ship permanently if you pick the wrong fight, but there’s also much to gain from killing an enemy. With so much to do, my advice is: don’t spend real money in the game until you know what you’re doing. Do a little bit of everything before you decide to get serious and pitch a few bucks in. You’re gonna make a lot of mistakes the first time you play, lose some items and ships, but ultimately if you keep at the game you will find ways to recover your losses.

Great! I’d love to see less trolling though

So, I was doing a quest for the storyline and I was in the middle of a battle with npc pirates. A player with a better ship warped in and lowers my ships health by a LOT like almost killed me, but then warped away, leaving me almost dead for the pirates to kill (which they did). I’ve seen other reviews of this happening to other people. Also I do not see a point in the long range short range guns whatever because since you cannot pilot the ships on your own the ships will pilot themselves and in doing so they will autopilot themselves really close to the enemy ships your attacking. I chose the rail gun faction so I have really slow reload but my ship automatically by itself just goes in really close to the enemies so I could do so much more damage with the guns that are for close range fighting with fast reload. Fix this please or maybe add manual piloting? Yes I’d like to see manual piloting. Please dev if you see this add manual piloting the automatic thing Is getting on my nerves

So far...UI eh...Tutorial eh..

Two stars for now until I progress further and an update fixes the font. Looks amazing but reading the text is very difficult. It’s almost blurry trying to read it. I’m on iPhone X and play a lot of Star Trek fleet command which has small text but is very clear. Tutorial pop up screens went entirely too fast to read what rewards were just gained. Wouldn’t mind too much if I could click on something to view what I have but during tutorial it won’t let you. Was fast paced tutorial but wasn’t a true tutorial. It taught me nothing of this game. Wasn’t able to click on anything even after a couple chapters to explore the UI and parts of the options. Not a fan of the general chat screen stuff so far. Even though I wasn’t able to explore it since it wasn’t clickable yet, the majority of the scrolling text was written in Asian writing. I hope there will be a filter that will prevent it from showing since I only read and wrote in English. The chats I saw were all clumped and mixed together with different languages. Was confusing to say the least. I will definitely update when I get further along because it does seem like it might be a crap ton of fun! But please fix the blurry font stuff. Maybe it needs more screen adjustments for different phone platforms instead of just a single one. Higher resolution or color scheme?

Good stuff. I'm surprised., Sep 11, 2019

Wobble cam

For a Chinese EVE echos knockoff this isn’t bad. The story is probably the weakest part of the game as it was clearly written to get the game past the censors so the game could be playable in China. As such the player is part of a police state or something that’s not very original. The gameplay is fine for an AFK game and you can sort of move your ship by tapping any empty space on the screen. You can also stop your ship so you have some control. That said I would prefer to be in full control of the ship at all times. My biggest problem are with the NPCs and the cutscenes. There’s not much diversity in the portraits and the female bodys are kinda oversexualized as in most modern games. That can be fixed. Now about the cutscenes why on earth did they have to put that awful wobble cam in?! Every time something explodes in a cutscene the camera wobbles around for some reason. That’s not really needed. The only reason that the wobble cam seems to be in there is to appeal to the American sci-fi fans which don’t seem to be a majority of the player base. Most of the players are Chinese so why emulate modern American sci-fi?

Great game lot of issues performance wise here

I have had no issues with second galaxy until today. I had been playing on my iPhone because it would not run on my iPad. I love this game so far and how huge the universe is. I have a level 22 character on the OE faction and had some really good rng drops for me as well. No I can’t get of the loading screen after logging in. It’s really sad for me because I have friends who play with me and are in my Corp that I was running as director. Please hurry to fix this for people because I am not the only one writing about this issue. I may not pick it back up depending on how long it takes me to be able to play again. Reason being is because if it’s too long I will be far behind the others that aren’t having issues and thus be outclassed in pvp terms. So five stars for the game though. It’s really fun and as in-depth as you want it to be. Just use the guides in the beginning to know the whole game.

Almost perfect

Don’t get me wrong, this game is an absolute TON of fun. It’s got pretty unique control mechanics, good storyline, great faction diversity and much more. The art, visual and 3D is much better than almost all other games like this one and it almost feels I’m playing a console quality game on my iPad.That said, I came here because, yes I understand you devs intend it to be a MMO, but if you wanna upgrade yourself you have to devote fifteen minutes to it. Pilot levels, education, implants, ship weaponry, ships, licenses and a few others is a kinda ridiculous amount of upgrade trees and there’s no way to go through them all without searching. If the devs are reading this, please simplify it down to the current ship interface, but getting rid of the awful and unnecessary implants, licenses, maybe even education. It’d be much nicer if you boiled down the pilot’s upgrade tree to one or two primary ones - four (literally how many I could count: implants, education, licenses, reputation, to name a few) different upgrade trees is kind of overkill for just the pilot’s upgrade tree.Other than that, you guys have made an awesome game and the annoying trees won’t stop me from playing this awesome game. Thanks for reading!

Refreshing experience

Now I’m not going to go as far to say that this is a flawless game there are a couple kinks like not being able to access things without auto-pilot which is literally not that bad because auto-pilot is surprisingly engaging. But to be completely honest I think the best part of the game are the side quests which are usually hilariously ridiculous as with any good space travel game. There is a side quest where you have to shoot down someone’s sister but no spoilers lol! Overall the gameplay is really engaging and a nail biting experience. You never know if you’ll be reduced to scraps or if you’ll reduce your enemies and that is good gameplay. There’s so much to do and making your ship OP is quite literally a blast. I would recommend this to anyone that loves sci-fi, Drama, and well placed comedy. Also a huge plus for any newcomers is that the learning curve is pretty straight forward so don’t feel overwhelmed with all there is to do and see you will eventually figure everything out. Lastly there is always something to do so you will never be bored and not every mission has to be action packed some are finely paced and help you rack up coins.

Some Important Questions

I preordered the game and was really excited for it. I logged on six hours after it officially released, and I think all I was able to to was begin the tutorial before the game crashed. I’m not even sure if it was a tutorial, I didn’t get very far. I understand that this is a new game in the early stages of development and so it can’t be expected to run on every device, so my question is this: If I can’t play now without it crashing, will I ever be able to play on this device? Will it ever improve to the point that I can get through the tutorial without the game crashing? Other than these problems I think the game seems great. I say seems because I haven’t played enough to know for sure, but it does seem like a good game. Hence the 3 stars instead of just one.I’ve just read a few other reviews, and it seems like there’s many people having the same problem. It crashes whenever I first exit warp. I hope that gets fixed in the update that’s going on right now. If it does I’m giving a five star review, because then I’ll know the devs are really serious about making the game enjoyable for lots of people.
