Almost Perfect

The Good - The music is the best I’ve ever heard in any mobile game. I’ll definitely be listening to this a lot. The story is great along with the dark fantasy which is probably my favorite genre since I’ve played darkest dungeon. The Bad - The Combat, once you start the game you do a purification that you tap and do combos to get more ap and exp. I thought that was the combat until I got the first mission then it turned into a half baked Unison League combat system but you can only use the weapons skill with no auto attacking with the whole sp system which isn’t that bad just makes a risk reward system that you could bring in all the rare weapons you got from rng but run out of sp on long boss battles or only bring low grade weapons that significantly less damage unless you upgrade them fully. The co-op battling is fine until by the time you refresh the page they’re all ready done with the mission they’re on.

“app”?

It’s been my first few hours in this game and I’ve been sent to write a review after pulling banner’s featured characters with first try. With the atmosphere that captivated me from the start (I even kept listening to title screen music for many minutes) and such generosity, naturally I should give a positive review. I mean I still have not hit the paywall. But the truth is, I did hit another wall already. And that’s maker’s wall... .Firstly with auto-friend-join system that makes it totally unnecessary to touch the screen for anything other than “next” button and the other is those Legendary gears I was gifted with first few missions The game couldn’t kill my initial experience and enthusiasm to improve more... . I mean even if there are places that I need to do the battle alone, at the start, it would’ve been much nicer to taste improvement rather than being carried by the game. I hope things exceed my current understanding and for that, I don’t hesitate to give the “app” 4 stars since it definitely has a catching atmosphere.

A Serious Split

I love Yoko Taro and his works. They definitely shine in this game. The grim story telling is unique and intriguing. The art is high budget and beautiful looking for every character and alt class. The music is outstanding. At the start screen, you are given the suggestion to play the game with headphones and this doesn’t not fall short. The music is amazing and it adds to the feel of the game to a sublime level. But, the good stops there. I just finished my first Colosseum match and it was honestly a deal breaker. I was already struggling to enjoy the basic gameplay and mechanics of the game. They are clunky, slow, repetitive, and what seems down right disconnected. This game is asking to for a let of depth and integral character and weapon building while trying to spit on the most basic, poorly budgeted gameplay. This game is the largest split between high and low budget cost. Music, design, art, story could easily pull a 4 or 5 star rating in most games. But this horribly disconnected feel of combat is just another pathetic excuse at making a game. They should’ve just made this a text adventure game and it would’ve felt better to play. In the end, I found myself playing the Purification mode more than the actual story. I tried and it failed.

Worth the wait? no buts I promise!

In honesty, I was waiting for this to be global last year 2019, or what the year was really, after another long wait and me following the HYPE train.... I guess it was sort of worth the wait. I just reviewed Youtubers playing and getting prepared for this game like it’s the best game ever. No. I am happy with the game in general though, the mechanics are slower than I thought through gameplay, and to mention the fighting is not impactful, just swinging away at the enemy and going to the next section, doing the same thing, over and over and over, although, the characters are what you play for! it is meant to capture the mind of the person playing each of the characters! I love the stories of them and how GRIMM each character has been tormented in a realm NOT about fairy tails, just down right creepy eerie and scary at times.... those darn puppets, guiding you through the ark of the game, making fun of the fact that you have no idea about the game or what your doing in the first place. Game is global now and I stand by my review. Forever. And I do hope to play this game a long time, I just don’t want to lose Interest so fast since I did wait a LONG HYPED UP TO THE MAX YEAR. And I did write about me not saying BUTS!

The story so far...

Honestly, I’m very early in. I haven’t yet found anything in this game to separate it from the pack, gameplay-wise - it’s like many-many other mobile gaxha-type RPG games. They overload you with stuff, you auto all day, summon characters and weapons. Personally, I play these games hoping to find JUST ONE that hits all the right notes, and that I can hang my hat on. So far with this game, there is nothing there that makes it feel worthy of my hat (and I have several hats). That said - it’s VERY early in my adventure, and I do plan to see it through for some time still. The music, so far, has been great - that’s a bit of a standout - and I love the aesthetic. It’s too early to say this, also, but I have a feeling that the tone of the game might be right up my alley. Also, if you’re a fan of Nier, you’ll probably find some extra entertainment value. On the Nier note, the music is definitely in that vein, from my recollection.I will return to update this once more time is spent upon the game!

Love it, but here’s the problem

The one thing that I love about this is the story aspect and lore given to the game, but here are some problems with it: when you have to go to a specific grimnoire, then they don’t load it immediately or it begins to crash on you. Whenever you try to log back into any old account that you have, then they expect you to remember everything from that old account even if you don’t have The memory span of that old account, they should also provide a link to the website, but I don’t think that the website will be able to help with retrieving any information that you have since they only require you to contact support via email. so long story short, I like it but there are some problems that need to be addressed when it comes to retrieving information with all the counts and still some bugs that need to be fixed with grimores

Fantastic game

This is really one of my most favorite mobile games right now and enhanced by the nier event since I just love everything from nier to automata and during this event I saw that many things were grimoir locked and stuff like that and well it made me realize that if you want to even get for example a 10x grimoir and still like that you’ll have to save up a ton of gems at the beginning you got gems at a decent pace and it really felt rewarding I just wish there were other ways to get gems since rn the only real way to get gems is to join the colloseum but you only get gems at certain days and the events just go by without really getting a chance and I know it’s a free game so you have to incentivize buying gems but I just wish there were more ways to obtain a good amount of gems to participate in these awesome events and things like that and I’d really love to see some new ways to earn gems for free to make it that much more rewarding and awesome to get an event character from a grimoir and also I wish the data transfer wasn’t at the beginning since I just lost my account because of it and it’s super frustrating

Hahaha, amazing

This freakin' game! Hahaha, it's so funny, a bunch of twists on... fairy tales? Or those old stories like Cinderella and Snow White. It's made by the crazy dude that made Nier: Automata so that's always a good sign. Also, I got an SR roll and the game is like "Yo, you got an SR, wanna review us?" And maaaaan, they got me there, hahaha, had to do one. Enjoying the game a lot, from what I've seen so far you roll for weapons and jobs for your characters, but you start with almost all of the characters right from the start, and a guide actually mentioned "there are no character tier list, all the characters are the best character, except your favorite, that one is even better" or something like that. So it's a very enjoyable game to just have on the side running while you go about with your day. Not too stressful like others where you gotta have the newest meta character every week or you might as well uninstall.

Yoko Taro was here

SINoALICE feels like a Yoko Taro game - dark stories, flawed and broken characters, gorgeous art that leans on fan service, collectible lore in the form of weapon stories. It reminds me with a gleeful vengeance that Neir, at one point, was going to be about fairy tales coming to life, and that the groundwork goes back years. Even the gatcha element doesn’t feel infuriating here - each new class, weapon, and nightmare is more lore to unlock, and the leveling system rarely leaves you feeling like a repeat draw is a bad thing. Coupled with generous amounts of in game currency and a mini game to reload stamina (and generous tickets to keep playing it) makes it worthwhile to play and keep playing. The combat, sadly, is stale, a Rock Paper Scissors affair you can auto through or glaze over. It’s the same as half a dozen other cell games before it, though guild battles offer a chance to strategize and reward careful gear selection. It doesn’t say much that there’s an auto feature to skip fights- the game seems to know that you aren’t here for that. A pity, given that the battles are the only gameplay. But it is functional and holds up the story well - a grim story about endless bloodshed suits the style.I’d easily recommend this to anyone who enjoyed Drakengard or Neir.

Honest Review

Now I know when people read “Honest” when talking about a Review they expect one of two things. Either Bootlicking or a Dashed Hopes type message. Now which one will this be, the second mostly... but not entirely.Gameplay wise, this is going to be nothing new for anyone. It’s exactly as it seems in the screenshots. Which you could say is to its benefit, no lies or false promises. Either you like it or not. That said, what Will captivate you is the Art and Tragic Dark Fantasy narrative it tries to sow. And it does not disappoint; unlike other Dark Fantasy apps which focus on the story or just the fan service. It seems as though the developers are leaning toward a more narrative focused approach. The thing that Dark Fantasy does right is that it makes itself true to the setting with a mix of Erie aesthetics, Wondrous music, and Beautiful tragedies.Given that I have only just started and judging by first impressions, I will likely update this review later on.My only complaint, it would help if the gameplay was more engaging. I get that this is a mobile game, but sometimes, in-fact often, a 1 minute mission isn’t going to be as interesting as one that has more time and thought put into it outside the narrative. After all the best books leave you wanting to turn the page only to realize you need to rest. Not books that you skip through in order to get to the good part.
