Underwhelming and unintuitive

I had high hopes for this app along with my new X4, but the smart room function disappoints. Unless your laser is very nearly at 90 degrees to the previous measurement, you wind up with rooms that aren't drawn square. This is a problem when the laser has to be held off the wall surface due to obstacles ( think door trim, dry wall run out, etc.). Bug: Door opening orientations are not mapped properly from the properties window to the sketch.Also, there's no way to quickly import a smart room sketch into the regular sketch room tool.

Only displays to 1 mm. Not to 0.1 mm

I purchased a E7500i because of its accuracy of 1 mm and ability to display live reading on ipad via bluetooth. The unit itself displays to a tenth of a mm but the app connected over bluetooth does not since in the settings the selection is 1 mm. 0.1 mm is not an option. I need to be as close as possible within 1 mm. If this is an oversight, please fix. May have to return this $500 + device back. I just need to display the reading in live mode on my remote ipad so that I can make adjustments to set the length. Why does the app force me to 1. Sketch on photo 2. Sketch on plan Just display the live reading as I make adjustments to the length. Period!!!!!!

Spend so much on a device and get let down

I have multiple disto devices and I was embarrassed to be shown by a colleague who owns a Bosch their app and work with it on some surveys. The Leica app is so not user friendly. Seriously guys use the app in real world situations and tell me what you think. The measure on picture is so slow to use. Seriously there isn’t even a magnified view so you can put the end of the line in the right spot. Lines are connected you can’t draw separate lines easily. It’s just a nightmare I gave up. Plus this nonsense of paying for other features. We have just bough the most expensive laser devices on the planet and now we have to pay a few dollars on an app to use them. NO NO you have it all wrong.

Love it buuuuuut...

They really need to invest in this app. Right now it’s just a gimmick to sell more laser measure products. But this app has so much potential and could be a very powerful tool. PLEASE PLEASE PLEASE invest more in this app and listen to your customers. I emailed in with a question and recommendation about duplicating opening / windows / doors and customer service basically said “nah”. Why would you not want to make this more user friendly???

Useful for one room at a time, useless for an entire home

The app is useful for measuring one room. If you want to survey an entire house, the app is very disappointed. I’m sure Leica can do a better job. For instance: There is no option to input the walls width. The P2P technology using x3,x4 or s910 it would be great if there were an option for multiple stations, so you could move your tripod to one roomto another within the same drawing to be able to draw an entire building. The way it is now, there is no way to that. Other apps have that option. Without these options the potential of the disto x3, x4 and s910 is wasted. I’m sending back my S910 and continue with my D2 to use it with this app. There is no point for me to have a $ 1500 equipment to draw use P2P in one room only. Leica I know you can do better. Please do.

So close, yet so far

I think the German brain works a little different from my American brain, because like my German kitchen appliances, I find elements of the Leica app a bit unintuitive. As such, it took me a while to conclude that features I thought should be there (but couldn’t find) weren’t actually there. And, there’s little documentation to bridge the gap.For instance, using the free sketch app, only a single z-height measurement (room height) is permitted for a sketch, which limits the utility of the 3D view for anything but a simple volume. Can’t add countertops, ledges, steps, or other room features to make a usable 3D sketch. Or, in my case, I wanted to add dimensions for a piece of furniture.I’m sure it’s a slippery slope when designing a free app, because the people will want curved surfaces, negative z-measurements (like for sunken floors) movable independent objects, and all sorts of fancy tools that this app was not meant for.Minor disappointments aside, the app does a nice job allowing fast, precise measurements to be imported to a basic sketch in a short period of time. But, even as a non-pro homeowner who desires to do something any more complex than the most basic measurements, I find myself wanting just a bit more.

Unable to connect S910

After buying the unlimited version of the app I cannot connect my S910 to the app through WiFi. Using iPad Pro 12.9 inch with os ver 13.4. I can connect to other exact same iPad that does not have the in app purchase.Uninstalled and installed the app and worked perfectly now. Just few concern. A function where u are able to move the Disto to a different location to take measurements of the hidden points that was not possible from the first point would be great. Also why can’t I use smart room with S910 it’s a more expensive device then x3 or x4?

Pretty decent app

Slight learning curve when you first start using the application. However I didn’t go step by step through the app’s built in tutorial, and was able to relatively pick it up intuitively. That being said it’s pretty solid and easy to use. I recommend getting a Leica laser measuring tool to pair with the application. It makes the process of measuring a job site very streamline, and once you develop a consistent process it flows quickly.

Everything costs extra. Doesn’t save anything properly

I too had high hopes for this app and the Disto D2. Unfortunately once I received the D2 and loaded the app on my iPhone, I found that you get two basic functions for free and then they want you to pay either a monthly fee or an annual fee to use any of the other functions. So I tried to use just the basic plan and every time I try to measure a room and move it into a project it failed to save the existing room measurements so I had to redo multiple times. Don’t waste your money on the D2 or the app until they approve it. I’m probably going to send back the Disto D2

Takes a second to learn but saves a ton of time.

Been using it to measure up mechanical spaces and I go 10 times as fast as I used to. It took a second to learn how to use it but really within an hour or two I had it down. Now that I’ve been using it more I can’t imagine measuring by hand.
