Hitman go w/ steroids

This is a great puzzle game. The animations are fluid and keep the game interesting. Hitman go would get boring because all the people in the game were immovable game pieces but this one makes the takedowns feel more rewarding. With that said though, what deus ex makes up for in animation it lacks in level design. Not how the grid systems are set up but more of the cosmetic things you see on the side. In comparison the levels were bigger and better completed The storyline isn't bad but doesn’t feel present with just having some on screen dialogue.

Worth the money

I was unwilling to buy it at first because it was five whole dollars, but I brought it anyways because I’m a huge fan of the Deus Ex series. And guess what? It was definitely worth the money. The gameplay is very simple, just swipe and tap. The design is simple and minimal and probably one of my favorite aspects of the game. The puzzles are fun and get increasingly challenging. The only complaint I have is that it’s battery-draining. Overall I’d rate a solid 9/10 :)

It’s a solid puzzle game, but it feels lacking…

Okay, so normally I don’t really feel the urge to write reviews for apps unless they’re outstandingly good or bad. This is a exception to that sort of habit though.I’ve been a pretty big Deus Ex fan for quite some time now and I’ll be the first to admit I also really love puzzle games. I feel like this should’ve been my dream game, but it just feels like it’s missing something. It has an okay story I guess: nothing really to write home about in my eyes, especially when considering it’s a Deus Ex game. The graphics are nice to look at, and the in game editor is a very nice touch that adds the fourth star to my review. It just feels like the game is “empty” if that makes sense.Don’t get me wrong, if you like puzzles or Square Enix games you’re probably gonna love this app, but to me it feels incomplete and empty.

Challenging and fun

I’ve enjoyed this game for several months. I love how each level builds on the next and that there is a storyline. The best part is the communities puzzles and the ability to design your own. A great deal of fun for the money. My only complaint is that I haven’t been able to load the community puzzles for the last two weeks. Not sure what happened.

Good, but has one huge flaw

As a Deus Ex fan, I must say that this one is decent. The puzzle design is simple, but it can get tough. Even though I had lots of fun (still playing) it’s a bit ridiculous how there are pay to win options in the game I already paid for. Some of the puzzles are very hard, and it sometimes feels as though the game wants you to pay for a solution to a puzzle. Other than that gripe, the game is a bunch fun. It has stylish graphics, nice animations, and even a puzzle creator. Despite the microtransactions, I still recommend this to those who love puzzlers or to those who like the Deus Ex series.

Great on Ipad!

Square Enix has done an incredible job capturing the feel of their triple a games in a puzzler package. I loved Lara Croft Go and played it all the way through, and after playing Human Revolution I can say that this game definitely is a solid Deus Ex game. Deus Ex Go is solid through and through. The somewhat simplistic but amazingly stylized graphics complement the challenging but doable gameplay. As far as the in-app purchase hints, I do think that was a little bit of a low blow to buyers. But you can still play the whole game without hints (if you’re clever enough). And if you run out of hints, just look at a walkthrough. This isn’t a big deal, and certainly doesn’t warrant the loss of a star. I haven’t tried the level maker yet, but I’m looking forward to it.

deus ex go

The puzzles are fun and challenging but not too challenging, and I like that there’s also a story to accompany the game. My only complaint would be that at level 34, the music becomes really awesome and dramatic, making you feel like you’re on the verge of something big, but then that music just keeps on playing for the rest of the game and then that music just becomes boring. That is a small complaint, though.

Surprisingly Different

I have played the other GO games. Hitman GO being the first, and although enjoyable, the lack of animation kind of turned me off from playing it that much more. I later played Lara Croft GO, which was an excellent game that was similar but added a variety of animations that made it more modern. I was expecting more or less the same from Deus Ex GO but was surprised by how it set itself apart by adding decent story elements. The animations in this one, along with art style makes it feel right at home with the other Deus Ex games. Overall, pretty impressed.

Terrible on Apple TV

This game does not support the controller on Apple TV and the remote has probably got to be the worst way to play the game. Not only are the turns not retested by your finger properly, bit the single button controls make it even more difficult when to tap and when to press. More importantly it is super hard to control the character with the remote as your finger swipes register improperly within the game. It almost makes it a questionable Apple product. How would Apple approve this type of inaccurate gameplay. I’d give it zero stars for unplayability - again only on Apple TV, on the iPhone this game is fine.

Deus Ex Go

I am not a big fan of puzzle games. I've only completed maybe 2-3 before playing this and the only other Go game I have is Hitman, so I can't compare this to the Laura Croft title, but Deus Ex Go is leaps and bounds more interesting than Hitman. Also, the tap/swipe to move makes the gameplay a LOT more comfortable. I wish that SE would update Hitman with this control setup. The story is interesting enough that if you're a fan of the games, it'll keep your attention, and the hacking mechanics add quite a bit of depth to the puzzles. The achievements also add quite a bit of replay value (I really wish they'd bring back the Special Events so I could get those last 6 achievements, though). I've never been this enthusiastic about a puzzle game, but Deus Ex Go will survive in my memory for years to come. And with the added 'create' mode where you can make your own stages is... SOOOOOO SWEEEEEEEET!!! I can't recommend this one enough.
