User Reviews for FFVII THE FIRST SOLDIER

8/10.

The game overall is pretty entertaining. I was never able to play on PlayStation so this being a mobile game was one of the few reasons that made me grow to like this game more. I like that you get to customize your character but I wish there were more customization options that actually looked like the characters in FF7. Like Cloud’s hair for instance. It’s not spiky enough. Or Reno’s, or Zack’s. I’d say the most accurate in the game would be Leslie’s but even that may need some improvement. Also, the automobile sensitivity needs to be brought down by a lot. It’s hard to drive the jeep without it crashing into something with a subtle turn. The bike is okay but I’d also recommend bringing down the sensitivity for that as well. The chocobos are perfect though. I also recommend a log out and sign in option like Cod Mobile has, so I can make more than one account without having to delete the game just to download it again to make a new account. I’m the kind of person who likes to have multiple characters with different customizations and ranks, and what have you and I like giving out accounts for things in return or to play with friends. So that would be great.

Movement and Lag

I love this game. I usually don’t stay on new games long unless they pique my interest enough so I don’t let go, and this game has done just that. I know it just came out, theres alot of room for improvement, but what I’d like to note first is the movement Materia wise and in general. I love the materia combo; Aero (tornado that makes you go wheee), bio (caustics wet dream?), and gravita (horizons wet dream), but what bothers me is theres no help for the user regarding the gravity, or the fact when you land after using the Aero tornado to lift you into the air as the user or teammates, you’re stunned fir a good second with no ability to move. even if it be only a second, it still hinders my movement, and actually cost me a few fights.Secondly, movement in general. I was just in a game, top 3 (with my combo materia may I add), but i couldnt move like I should have been. I kept teleporting unexpectedly, lagging, and being thrown backwards. When it came to top 2 I couldn’t get to cover because i lagged and died whilst lagging. It would be amazing for this to be fixed. There are a few other minor issues, but not worth remembering. I feel like they’ll get fixed with time anyway. I love this game though, the mechanics are amazing!

Love the game

I don’t often write reviews, but for this one I think it is deserving. Things I like about the game. The classes, they are all unique in their abilities and skills, some say the warrior class melee attacks are over powered. I disagree as it takes a double tap of the crouch button to break free then engage the attacker while their finishing their melee animation. I like the ability to customize your class with different skills. I also enjoy the completely random spawn points from multiple locations. Instead of all the players on a linear path across the map like other BR. It feels like a final fantasy game not a Battle Royale, which is fantastic. I like the leveling up system as well, and how you gain hp per level. It makes for a strategic outwitting of your opponents from essentially the moment you dive out of the helicopter. Really the only drawback I have with this is sometimes the connection is laggy, and the limitation to it being solely on a mobile platform. Pc or any console would also be fine as well, mobile is hard on my carpal tunnel, can’t play it for long stretches like I would like. But maybe that’s a good thing. Keep up the great work!

Problematic but boasts potential

So far, this is much better than I expected; the graphics are tupical Square Enix quality, gameplay is decent, and it’s honestly clever how Square basically took the common battle royale game and socketed Final Fantasy into it via the summons, ai mobs, scenery, and mounts. Prompting the previous statements, there are several factors to improve about this game. First of all, my character walks around as if she’s a transformer; the movement is extremely stiff and almost extremely robotic-like. The joints and all are simulated properly but when you stop your character , they completely stop moving instantly, body and all which is completely unnatural. Second, the camera needs to be automatic and lock onto the nearest target without the player’s input; you just cannot juggle two expansive game aspects on mobile and that’s a proven fact. In fact, the camera should also follow the character’s heading, not just hover over him/her; you don’t want to be caught fine-tuning the camera angle in a game like this when someone encounters and kills you. Third, the random game crashes during ,matches are costly and make FF7FS unreliable. I live 700 ft from a cellular tower and have plenty of bandwidth so please fix that bug as well. Aside from those factors, this is most certainly a promising mobile ff game.

Me = bewildered that some ppl are leaving bad reviews

See the title. Quite surprised to see this game getting like, any bad reviews. The game adds a ton of insanely cool features to what was formerly a tired old battle Royale format that I haven’t played anywhere else. Also not pay to win literally by definition (paying yields aesthetic only changes) like most BR games, so the typical complaint I see about pay to win being problematic, where’s the love for a game like this? The only suggestions I would make are minor: make it possible to buy Shinra packs with plain Gil. It’s been a long time since I had any kind of chest to open I don’t even mind if the drop rates are terrible so long as I get one every now and then. And... that’s about it? Oh one other thing, plz don’t prejudice against all jailbroken phones. You should be detecting people trying to cheat, not just any person who has jailbroken their phone. I do the latter NOT the former, and as such can only play on one of my two devices. I imagine there’s lots of ppl out there where that would mean they can play on zero devices. The two things are NOT synonymous.

Like it but not loving it yet.

Let’s start for the good things. Ok so the graphic are pretty cool, the map it’s a gods representation of Midgard, but it could be better. characters are really cool. Features are great. The monsters inside the map I liked it, it keeps the essence of the game. Ok now the downsides. So to play it on your mobile it’s really hard, I mean it’s too complicated, the camera won’t move with the carácter like in every other BR. So you gotta shoot/slash move the character and move the camera at the same time, which is really complicated on a mobile. The movement of the characters it’s clumsy, it makes you look like if you were a bot. The aiming of the guns and swords etc…it’s really bad!!! That’s makes it so hard to actually hit a enemy. I changed the sensibility and it did not make much of a difference I think when it comes to mobile games you need a little help aiming. But I think the worst thing, it’s the camera it really gives you a hard time when you play just with your mobile. Also I think guns need extended mags and scopes you can find on the map. Conclusions When you play with a controller the experience it’s better but still not enough!!! I think you have a great game here but it needs some improvements. Starting either the camera moving at the same direction as your character. Then the aiming. I hope you guys really take in consideration my review.

Pls read

Why are there only 5 basic classes why not make skills trees that can be combined and unlock more skills and other class hybrids like “spell slinger “ and the more you lvl up you get skill points and those can be used to unlock other classes and skills every player is given 3 trees that can be totally customizable and unlock over time and if they don’t like the skills they made they can delete and get all there skills points back or just buy a new slot to make a new skill tree. Classes I wish you could add “tamer, priest,Druid, alchemist “and “archer “yes bow and arrow are main weapon “and these could open so many new skill trees like “beast master = tamer+druid” can tame flying monster or “charm caster = alchemist+ mage” throws potions that I stop enemy’s from casting spells “or “spellslinger “ can charge arcane into spells like fire ball to use as a sniper or blizzard to throw a icicle that bursts on contact and forms a dome of ice and snow “ or “ assassin+ alchemist “ can throw needles that stack and after 3-5 stacks paralyzes the enemy’s also maybe add like a shield spell for priests and druids like magic walls and domes

Has potential

This game is pretty interesting, in the sense of it trying to pull off a final fantasy game. Which it does on quite a few aspects. The game offers a variety of attacks. You start off with a melee weapon. as you explore the map you get two additional ways of offense. Magic and assault weapons are found through out the map. I like the idea of using magic to take out other players, the variation is pretty amazing, as for assault weapons; nothing out of the ordinary, it’s what you’d expect from a battle royal game. With all this being said, there are a few issues that I find in playing this game. It feels more like a recycled call of duty mobile game. I notice a lot of similarities, same button layout, same way of acquiring items. This game doesn’t really feel like a final fantasy game, it’s just another battle royal game with FF slapped on top of it. Another issue with the game is movement. It can be wonky at times, and it can be hard navigating around. Especially if you are riding a vehicle, you control it with just one finger and it makes it nearly impossible to drive them. FFBR has potential but it needs to stem away from the typical battle royal video game, and make adjustments.

This is an amazing game!

I have read a lot of reviews and heard of complaints regarding playability on mobile devices. I don’t think it is fair to compare this to playing on a gaming console. There are some obvious complications with playing these types of games on buttonless phones-but I think they have expertly accommodated for easy gameplay. This is the first BR type of game I have played on a mobile device and think the functionality is great. All of the screen buttons are configurable with the ability to customize location and size of button. The only complaint I have is the bots. Not all 75 players in the game are real-life players. Bots are incorporated to reduce load on server and fill the map during slow gaming hours (I’m assuming). It gets frustrating going through a whole game and only interacting with one or two real-life players. At the same time, when there are a lot of real life players (you typically see this more in ranked matches), The game is incredibly laggy and choppy. Not sure what can be done to fix this but that is an obvious problem if you're in the middle of combat with another player. Seasonal challenges are fun and interesting. Can’t wait to see what they do for Easter. Christmas, VDay and 25 Anniversary challenges were pretty cool. Keep it up.

Um ok

AMAZING!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! I’m loving this game you guys rock! You really put in some work this is better than I imagined. The use of summons and materia weapons the layout and Season structure like most battle royale games. I just love it all, I’m really looking forward to the skins and weapons we can unlock. I will be supporting this for a long time and happy to say I’m here for SEASON 1. Thank you thank thank you thank you. I’m a huge FF7 fan from the original to the remastered. This is just amazing to play it from a soldiers perspective. I’m really impressed by the game play and how well balance you guys made it. The fact that you can add additional stats to your material and weapons is well done. It doesn’t feel like anyone is overpowered and since the addition of this combat style in more recent rpg games the battle royale feels like I’m playing the final fantasies that inncorpates this battle system. It requires strategy and skills to defeat opponents and having a great balance of magic and melee and range makes it feel refreshing with each approach. For me this game feels like home because I’m well familiar with the franchise it’s exciting to see the way things are implemented in regards to rewards and skins, it feels like a world of final fantasy and not just another regular battle royale. The foundation of final fantasy is prevalent in this game.
