So versatile

I bought this for the widget and keyboard functionality. I use it all the time. I travel a lot so I have a note with my room number.. always one swipe away. I have URLs for software testing. Great! Then I got an Apple Watch and tried several simple note programs. None beat Cheatsheet. Did you know you can control if a cheat appears on the widget... or on a complication. You can. The only features that are not there (yet) is scribble functionality for Apple Watch and an option to not show a cheat at all on the watch. Otherwise this app is such a productivity boost. Live it.

Great tool for a specific purpose!

I love this app. It’s useful on my phone for storing bits of memory lint that don’t need 1Password’s protection. It also makes my Apple Watch more useful, so I avoid even the phone’s low friction when recalling those text items. The icon labels are a neat idea, too. Possible improvements (but not major problems): offer different color cheat icons; have a setting to turn OFF the auto-suggestions for calling/texting text strings, since many of those are false positives.

Great and always getting better

This app serves its purpose perfectly, and it feels like the stuff they keep adding is solving problems I didn’t even know I had. It’s attractive everywhere. It’s awesome on my watch, which is why I bought it. But I use it more often on my phone now, as a “secret” notebook from which I can selectively expose myself to information that guides me. It’s great for hotel room numbers, parking lot area designations and “don’t forget” lists too.

Fantastic App for Apple Watch, needs subfolders though

Love this app, and would barely use my Apple Watch if it didn’t exist. While very similar to the notes app, it has little touches here and there, and clearly a lot of work has gone into it. And most importantly, it work amazingly on Apple Watch.I use this app every single day at my job, and there are small things the app can do to improve, but the biggest feature that would INSTANTLY make this a 5 star for me would be SUBFOLDERS. I have advanced to the point where I have hundreds of entries and too many folders, I really need subfolders at this point, it is the sole limiting factor in the app for me.

Great product… Perfect name

Cheatsheet is a great product that has saved time and embarrassment. I first used it as a scratchpad but I quickly appreciated its usefulness as my memory-assist (call it "off-line storage").I use it to capture obscure information that I might want to recall quickly. Examples are formulas for calculating electrical current, dew-point, mm-to-inch conversions, and even neighbors' names.Cheatsheet is NOT a place to store sensitive passwords as the security isn't designed for that purpose. The very-affordable upgrade to Cheatsheet Pro has given me additional ways to organize and rapidly retrieve things that would otherwise be lost in the moment. Great product with real productivity advantages!

must-have app!

Cheatsheet has had a permanent home on all of my iOS devices since 2014. It’s the perfect place to jot down small things to look up or remember, and I’m thrilled that the latest update added Siri support. However, adding notes to Cheatsheet with Siri does not work for me. Asking Siri to “add X to Cheatsheet” results in Siri creating a new Reminders list called Cheatsheet rather than adding it to the app. I got Siri to successfully add something to Cheatsheet one time by accident when she misheard me.

Simple! Easy as it gets.

I love this app. I can write a quick note to myself in a tap or two. The true joy of Cheatsheet are the complications on the watch. I can put a todo without a date or time, in Cheatsheet on the phone, and it instantly shows in the phone widget, AND the watch face. I like this because it keeps the first cheat sheet item in front of me all the time on the watch without nagging me, irritating me, or getting lost in a slew of calendar events and reminders. And when I tap on the complication it pulls up the watch version on the watch and shows me all my cheats. The only issue I have ever had with it is the Red icons. I dunno why, but the red has bugged me for a long time. Selection of color would be more interesting. Ok that’s been changed, and now there’s color choices; yay! thank you!!

Sync can sometimes delete content

Very useful app, however it comes with a significant risk compared to using OneNote or Simplenote. While those aforementioned tools have been reliable through many difficult-connection scenarios, Cheatsheet fails during even the most optimal conditions if changes are made on 2 different devices before it gets around to syncing. This seems to lie in the sync solution it relies on, leaning on iCloud vs a native solution. This means that unless you remember to go and manually get the Sync button within settings, your app isn't syncing until around midnight when your device automatically backups the rest of iCloud's stuff. This is almost dealbreakingly detrimental if you want to use this as an app to keep everything in sync, as it leads to frequently *LOSING notes, at random. I shouldn't need to keep backups for a note app, the notes should BE the backup for proper documentation.

Nifty tool for commonly used codes.

It’s useful to me for certain items that are not exactly passwords but things like drivers license number, health insurance number, door, passcodes or entry codes, locker numbers —all the little things that are not easily fitting into the Keychain. Developer is responsive. It has a keyboard that when installed allows you to find a cheatsheet item without even leaving the text feel that you’re typing into. For a reasonable price you can get the pro upgrade which allows things like iCloud syncing, which I have used across three devices successfully.

When I Used it

I have not used this app for a long time because I was concerned about privacy. I might reconsider but I am not sure. It’s like putting my social security number in the app. Not something anyone should ever do. I’m sure that the developers would not go sneaking around for my data. But it’s just the idea of having my personal information in an app like this. So if and when I decide to reinstall it, I will try to make sure that I don’t add anything too personal. What else do we consumers have to worry about?
