Recommendable

This is surely a masterpiece. Every single character is attractive, their motions are smooth and fascinating, combats require some strategy...the story is not so deep, but I really love to see how the characters interact with one another with their personal ways of act and talk. I play on an iPhone 7 and the resolution is lowered to 75%, yet the app sometimes forcibly closes especially when I’m in dungeons; however, the game automatically saves quite frequently. Although you gotta reenter the dungeon from the starting floor as you restart the app, the status is saved anyway. I also desire cloud saving system just like other reviewers are suggesting, but it’s not gonna let me deduct a star. Definitely one of the greatest games I’ve ever played till now.

READ BEFORE PURCHASE! Honest review

So far I’ve put about 10 hours of gameplay into this game and I must say, what an amazing game. From the visuals, to the story, to the soundtracks, to the depth of combat and satisfying touch system. It truly is a masterpiece of a game. HOWEVER!, there’s a game crippling, non-stop crash that occurs every 30-45 minutes. Where the game black screens and force closes the app resulting in reloading app constantly and having to replay portions of areas. It renders the game nearly unplayable. I’ve tried powering through and replaying lost progress crash after crash, but after reaching dungeon 2 the game refuses to enter and continuously crashes. Im playing on a high end apple device with plenty of storage available and have reduced the game quality to 50% for that’s the only mention from a developer on a potential fix, unfortunately none of that matters. Until a legitimate patch fixes this issue do not waste your money. Sincerely, a proud gamer since 1995.

Solid, classic jRPG gameplay featuring amazing art and sound.

Joe Madureira is a talented artist and this game begins with him and the world he has created and the characters populating it. His artwork, turned into a video game looks amazing. The characters themselves and interesting and colorful while also breaking some molds concerning the “classes” system. For instance, that giant War Golem? Yeah he’s the party healer.Be sure to rest frequently at the Inn as you progress through the game. Story scenes between the characters add depth, making the characters feel more fleshed out and explain in more detail the events that took place in the original comic books. However, no knowledge of the comic is required, the game keeps the past in the past for the most part and you can infer the rest.Gameplay is turn based, the order determined by each character’s haste stat. What follows in the usual attack, item and special abilities. Using a skill tree system, split into two for each character, you have a lot of room to customize your character and since you can at any time respec your abilities at no cost, feel free to make specific builds for specific fights.A lovely soundtrack, great animations and plenty secrets and things to do, the only reason I took away a star is because it unfortunately kept the most unwanted jRPG system. Only the characters who fight get exp, there is no exp share. Which minds grinding each character to keep up with the rest of the group.

Beautiful design, gameplay and story.

I’m playing on a 6s plus and I’ve had no issues. To all the people giving this game one star because it won’t work in their iPad, show a little patience (or better yet don’t waste your money on an iPad). An update went out today to address the memory issue.Issues aside, this game is easily worth 10 dollars. The graphics, animation, story, crafting, turn-based battle systems are all superb and any fan of classic RPGs will thoroughly enjoy BattleChasers. When I spend 10 dollars, this is the quality of game I expect to get. It’s just a shame that games like BattleChasers and Oceanhorn come out so rarely. I find myself mostly replaying games from the Final Fantasy series because so few phone games can match the depth and scale of those console games ported to the IOS. I want to encourage more developers to make games like this. There is a huge fan base for turn-based RPGs, action RPGs and other variations of the like. I would shell out 20 bucks for a game that gives me two solid play-throughs for about 20-40 hours of gameplay.Anyway, well done and thank you.

Great game! Needs a bit more attention

First the game is Very fun and quite infusing with all you can do, but the game closes quite often and always while in dungeons which make it so you have to run all the way back through to where you were. Also I loved the fishing on pc for this game but on iOS the response is pretty bad and when ever you react to a fish turning direction it instantly changes direction before you could even real it in a little... maybe something other then the digital analog stick would be better as what I have noticed is a bit annoying and not as enjoyable, yes using keys on pc alone make it easier but still u only get lucky pretty much catching a fish when a fish doesn’t changes direction if it does change 5 times within 5 seconds you just can’t catch it even if u change as quick as possible because even then sometimes the analog stick could be lined up with the direction of the fish but it isn’t accurate either so the line stills breaks

Best App on the Market

Are you looking for a top-notch RPG? Perhaps a strategy game with lots of skills to choose from and weapons to create? Maybe you’re just looking for something with a long play time and that will challenge you. If so, this is the game for you.Bad first — it has glitches. The second dungeon had be force quit at least four times which was rather annoying. That’s my only bad.The good? It’s based on a comic but I’ve never read it and felt it was very easy to jump into the story anyway. It has tons of skills and two skill paths for each character meaning it’s replayable. It’s graphics are the best. The dungeons are super tough on the hardest difficulty but still beatable. Last, I’ve played for 6 and a half hours and only feel MAYBE 1/4th done. Probably less.

It ok

I got pretty far, past the point where I was annihilating everything, but didn’t finish this game. The artwork and music is beautiful, far beyond 90% of games in App Store. The theme is dark and gritty, which I love. But the battle mechanics just got too tedious. So much burst damage negate the majority of tactics. I fell into a rut of Gilly taunt, garrison war blade and alumon heal. Every other option was inferior to this. There are way too many abilities. Would have grit my teeth and powered through but when warblade got pushed to second page by new useless abilities (and there is no way to rearrange them ARE YOU F KIDDING ME!!), the fights became infuriating and I could not continue. I’ll check back in a year and see if these issues have been addressed.

Almost great

There is much to like about this game. The combat is deep and challenging, and thanks to the overcharge system really encourages not just pressing the attack button over and over. The aesthetics and world building are some of the best I’ve seen in a mobile RPG.Still, it’s so much like classic Final Fantasy games that it has some weaknesses in common. I constantly have to worry about running out of potions mid-dungeon. The frequent minor battles become tedious. I have no incentive to change the party. And worst of all, the story is rather cliche. Guess what? A dark lord is resurrecting, and you need to find artifacts to stop him!Ultimately it wasn’t for me, but if you like retro JRPGs this is a good one.

Amazing

The only reason I can’t give this five stars is that I’m still fighting slimes on the very last area of the map. Make more character models.Otherwise, the game is excellent, just challenging enough, and has amazing depth of development as far as skill unlocks and team combinations. The art and animation are flawless. It’s definitely worth the money and guaranteed to keep you occupied for hours and hours.By the way, developers, the ‘time played’ feature should stop counting when the game is paused. I left it paused over the weekend when I first started, and suddenly it looked like I’d been playing for 60 hours.

iPhone 8 speaking

This games aspect remind me of “Persona 5” on PS4 with its smooth and fast paced combat with their own unique attacks. The graphics are the same as on PC (depends on your device) with clear detail on me iPhone 8!!! The controls are responsive as well speaking inside the forest village because combat you only have to tap to fight which is superb!!. The voice acting and story is very touching and on point with making you feel connected with the characters in the game, it takes focus on strategy and wise planning to get the win. It’s the new standards of jrpg of persona 5 vibe of atmosphere.... not the old final fantasy vibe. Get this game now, fantastic RPG of its kind...support this developer with more ratings and downloads please...5 stars!!!
