Fantastic game, but won't install

I purchased both This Is the Police and This Is the Police 2 and they were some of the greatest games I've ever played. I wanted to revisit the game on my phone, but once purchased it won't download. Yes, I have WiFi and the newest iOS version but it still won't download.TL;DR: Buy it on Steam, not the App Store (also I recommend the sequel more)

Fun and addicting management

Way longer than I was anticipating with a mostly gripping story, that gets better as it goes along, and some interesting characters and awesome music! Gameplay is enjoyable but tedious at times, although it does occasionally throw a few neat wrinkles in. I do understand where people are coming from with their complaints about the game’s rather cold depiction of racism, but I do think they were most likely trying to reflect reality in the game. You can definitely ignore the mayors directives with no penalty at all if you do your job well. Now, I’m on to the sequel! Thanks for making such a quality game here devs!

I agree with this game being Racially Insensitive

I don’t care what anyone says, I understand about it being a straight and narrow storyline but this game mentions a FEW different times about blacks. Firing all blacks, “black gangster” etc. I was willing to ignore the first comment and charge it to the storyline but I agree with the person who mentioned it as “racially insensitive”. Now, on the positive side, this game is fun to play, it has great developments, graphics, and does have a good storyline. The only thing I wasn’t too big of a fan about was the comments made about blacks. I said what I said bc if they mentioned your race throughout the entire storyline as gangsters and in derogatory ways as such, you will feel a bit offended too.

Racially insensitive

I can’t play this game due to frequent inappropriate handling of race and racial issues. I was told to “fire all black employees” from the police department. I was tipped off by a mobster that “some black gangster” was robbing him. Neither was appropriate. Look, this is a game about the police. This is a topic that in the USA carries a heavy history of racial tension. I’m not going to enjoy playing a police chief in racially insensitive game.

Great story

I have the game on PC, but never finished it, so I decided to buy the mobile version so I could play it. It’s a great game! Additionally, ignore the “racially insensitive” reviews as this game is designed to make you face moral choices. If you are highly sensitive to and cannot appreciate social commentary, you may want to avoid this game.

Good game, no replayability though

Glad to see this game works on my phone. Sad to see reviews where it didn’t work. Saw some joker leave a review about how this game is racially insensitive by referencing when city hall wants you to fire all black cops(which you can easily just not do it and there’s basically little to no penalty for it). But I guess my point is that there’s also times where they want you to hire more poc in order to please some political figure that is visiting. It certainly doesn’t have double standards to it, just showing the political side of it. It’s just an add on to the corruption you’re facing with your character’s “straight and narrow” backstory. To completely disregard race as an issue that people face with is just, close minded. How are we to become better if we are to turn our backs on what makes us feel uncomfortable? Anyways, where this game lacks is replayability. The game is the same every time you play it. So once it’s done, it’s done. If it had an rng aspect on how the crimes get solved it would be fairly timeless but the lack in making it replayable is what prevents this from being one of my favorite games of all time. I came back to this review and I see the joker I referred to changed their review to reply to mine. Makes me grin. Haha.

Really a great sim

Story sim game that lets you choose. I don’t typically stay on one game for too long but I play this quite often.

Seriously?!

It would be one thing if you gave a choice in how to respond. But the moment the game told me I had to fire everyone all black employees I was out.

Worked for me

I was a little scared to get it after seeing all the bad comments but it worked just fine for me. Fun game.
