Ads often hang the app with no way to exit after playing

I used to really enjoy this game, and would voluntarily play ads in thanks. (Playing ads generally awards hints or points with which hints can be purchased, but after years of play, I have thousands of accumulated hints so the ads don’t offer me any benefit.) My main frustration with this app is that in 2019, many ads hang the app with the close box never appearing at the end of play. Sometimes it appears that an ad is requiring a clickthrough to the App Store to the sales page for the advertised app, but even after complying, some ads don’t progress to conclusion. For that reason, I no longer play ads voluntarily. The number of mandatory ads has increased in this same time frame, so the app is still hanging frequently because of them. Sometimes when an ad does run to conclusion, clicking the close box launches another ad, and there may be several of these in sequence. I have not yet uninstalled it, but I no longer play daily, and I’ll keep an eye out for a better word game without bug-ridden ads in 2020.

Just buy it!

I’ve had this game for years. First time I got through all the levels and thought that was it, only to come back months later and find more levels had been added! Thanks! I know if I was a developer I would like a little pocket change for the work that I have put into developing this or other games, so hint packs for sale, or ads for other games that you might find you like. Click, click! This game is very challenging and I find it rewarding that I rarely ever use the hints even though some of the levels have taken quite some time to figure out or if I have few hanging letters out there…….hint….use your screen shot if you can’t remember the words that you solved! So for three bucks or so, buy the game to get rid of the ads. It won’t break you and it will keep the developer coming up with more challenging levels and give them a little pocket change! P.S. I wonder if they would think about buying back some of my hints back at a discount price?? lol…..keep the levels coming. Thanks

I Like This App, Again, Again & Yet, Again.

If you like word games &/or jumbles, this app will more than likely, float your boat. (FYI: Be careful if you let your kids, or anyone else for that matter, use your phone. Please, make sure that they know NOT to delete any apps without your approval!) I only mention this because on 2 separate occasions, (once, when I was about 2/3 & the other, when I was 3/4 of the way from completing the game) this app & all of its data was deleted! As you can imagine, I was more than a bit peeved.(BTW, this wasn’t, as many would assume, a small child that thwarted my game. No, this was my 19 y.o. son. His phone battery had died & he needed to download one of those social apps, so that he could talk to his girlfriend. Not enough memory on mom‘s phone? No problem! I’ll just randomly delete a few apps. *sigh* But, I’m not bitter :-) Sorry, got a bit off topic didn’t I? Anyway, I really do enjoy this game. )Obviously I do, or I wouldn’t be starting over from scratch for the third time, right?) This game can be a little frustrating at times, but that’s what makes the game challenging, right? But, all in all, this is a pretty good game. Bottom line: I like this app!! :-)

Mrs.

I have played this game for quite sometime - but I have always waited on the timeline for the free hint. I played when at the doctor’s office, waiting in the car, etc. - “free” time. I NEVER purchased hints (games are not that serious to me). I “assume” I accidentally hit purchase hints - which, again, I never have done. This app did not take me through a process where I could cancel the option (again, “assuming” I inadvertently hit the purchase option); it simply gave a check mark in a “done” circle with the words “your purchase was successful” and an “OK” to hit. I did not press “OK” and had to turn my phone off to get out of that screen. Then, after powering up, I selected the app to see if that purchase had been cancelled, since I did not press OK, but it had not been. How can hints be purchased without a purchaser providing financial info AND no option to cancel? What form of payment is being used? I will delete this app, and warn others against it, if unresolved. I DID NOT purchase hints and want to know what is being charged! Further, I order online frequently for clothing, home goods, etc., and legitimate sites (or sites with integrity) give an option to cancel a purchasing process AND gives a summary of the purchase including payment method. I did not receive such a thing and I never provided financial info on this app. I am very concerned.

Please give us style or volume control

Generally I love it, but I had an earlier version before and recently downloaded a fresh version for my new phone discovering some changes I don’t like. The ads are even more annoying now, loud and video-style like TV commercials, but I know that can be removed. What frustrates me most is that after solving a puzzle a new celebratory sequence plays, which is screamingly loud compared to the rest of the game’s volume levels, outright painful if you have earbuds in. And the game originally appealed to me for its sophistication, which then included an equally nice but demure celebratory transition. The new trumpets transition is jarringly childish, as if ripped out of some other kids’ game and thoughtlessly dumped in. The combination of stylistic discord and painful volume make the transition very uncomfortable and unpleasant, something I wish I could avoid. But turning off sound effects doesn’t let me choose the sounds individually, so escaping the trumpets causes me to lose all the other cute sounds that made me love the game. I’m torn when I consider whether to play anymore. I wish we would be given an update that allows us to choose our celebratory transition type, or at least allows us to control the sound effects individually. Then I could enjoy it again without jolting or cringing.

Awesome game!

Edit update: I still play Wordbubbles everyday but the developer really needs to address the scam ads they allow when you use the “spin again”. Almost every day I see the “weight loss gummies, Oprah” scam ad. There are others too. Apple should address it if WB doesn’t do it on their own. I refuse to watch these ads, force close, and re-open the game. I’ve probably reviewed Wordbubbles before but I’ve noticed something new in the 1,000 new levels. I’ve hit three puzzles with a blank colored dot (no letter). A letter shows up once I solve the puzzle. For instance, puzzles 2365 and 2371 (there was one other but I didn’t make a note of what puzzle it was, I can find it if it’s not by design. In 2365 the blank dot is the upper right corner. 2371 it is 5th row/3rd letter.. or no letter, lol. Is this by design? I’ll include a screenshot, if I can. Also: hints. I will buy some hints because I enjoy the game. I play every day. I watch a video or two after each solve. I watch a few in the morning. I figure you get a little income from that and I’m on unlimited WIFI... so... yeah! Anyway, are these letter circle/dots blank by design or is something wrong? Thanks for the best game ever and especially thanks for all the new levels, how delightful! Well, I cannot seem to add a screenshot. Let me know if you want one! jbow 😊

Brain stimulation

I love this game! It's much more challenging than your typical word search. There might be more than one path to make a particular word but only one is the correct way to be able to connect the letters for the remaining words. One of the things I really like (especially in the lower levels) is that there are a lot of red herring words that make it even more challenging. If you're looking for a quick-fix game this might not be for you. I'm in the Grey Whale set of puzzles and it often takes me multiple sessions to solve. I must have bought the minimal hint package to remove the ads which was, what, $1.99? Knowing now how much I enjoy Word Bubbles, I would gladly have paid more—shhh! With the daily hints that I earn, this is way more than enough. Don't use hints, do stretch your brain, that's the fun of the challenge! I have not had any of the technical issues other reviewers have mentioned.Update: I’m now up to level 1126, have amassed hundreds of free hints by religiously playing the daily puzzles, continue to love the challenge even when it takes me multiple sessions to see the words and/or solve the correct paths, and stand by my 5-star rating!Update2: it’s been at least 4 years of playing every day and I’m now up to level 2424!

My Favorite Word Game!!

This is my favorite word game. It’s an interesting and fun twist on the classic word search game. It challenges your brain, gives your mind a workout. I really look forward to playing it everyday and was thrilled to see hundreds of new added levels as I’d completed all the puzzles over a year ago and thought my time with my favorite game was over. Thank you Word Bubbles! Keep making more puzzles, there’s no other game out there as good as this one. And I absolutely love the new Daily Five game, super fun, just wish there were more of those puzzles and not just the one a day, maybe they could add levels of this new Daily Five to Word Bubbles. Also grateful you’ve added more ways to get extra coins to buy more hints, life saver, I previously felt so gipped with the previous way to get them, completing 100 levels just to earn one hint, that was bogus.

Awesome game with words!

This word game is definitely one the best out there. It's very easy to navigate and maneuver. It also has a very clever color scheme about it. The best part is, is that you get to learn at the same time. Everything you just read that I wrote about was from three or four months ago. Now I'm giving this app a one star rating and that's because I have reached up to level 500 twice, to have been brought down to level one for no reason, no explanation from any support, much less anyway to contact support either. So if you like playing really hard games and reaching a high-level to have to start all over and over and get no satisfaction conquering it, then this game is for you. That's not how I am though. Maybe the game got scared that I was going to beat it fully. Also, be sure to check current version and all versions ratings. I'm on the top of both lists. This means I read it first when it came out, and first after it got updated.

Great app, great customer support!

Love this app...it is my morning brain exercise to keep my brain working, and as much as I love the app, their customer support is even better. I have been playing Wordbubbles every morning with my cup of coffee for a few years now, and I had worked my way up to a fairly high level. Recently I had an issue with my iPad and all my history disappeared...suddenly I was back to level 1, Algae and 3 letter words. Ugh! I found the customer support email and sent them an email explaining my dilemna. I honestly didn’t expect any response and even if I l got a response, I didn’t really expect that they would be able to help me. Much to my surprise...the next morning I had an email with clear, easy to follow steps to get me back to my level. I followed the steps, and voila, I was back in the category. Great app, challenging and fun, and great customejr support!
