?? Are you kidding? Not a chance!

I download this game again. Owned for a long time. This new version wiped all my owned upgrades?? That is horrible. Took me a long time to earn those!!! What is with this new login ? It used to just auto update to my saved Game Center data. What the heck???? Just found out yet another of the many games going the greed rout. One comment denied this but , fact , in app purchases highest being a huge ($50) sheesh this is just a word game !! plus forcing paying all new players every month just to play a word game = greed!!! Us gamers are not dumb!! It’s insulting. First to migrate my old account you force my personal phone number? Um, not a chance. A friend of mine really likes what I described about this game until he found out he would have to pay constantly just to play. Shook his head and immediately deleted as will i permanently after sending review.

Update to earlier review

I left a review a short while back complaining that I could not reach the developer after I lost 70,000 GW unexplainably. When I contacted the developer directly, they spent an extraordinary amount of time trying to fix my issue. Eventually, after much dedication, the issue was resolved and the fault of the issue was a mistake on my part.W.e.l.d.e.r is a simple, but engrossing game I have been playing for over 10 years. I love it’s solo and two player options as well as many of its other features. If you have not yet tried it, I highly recommend that you do. It most likely will become a long-term companion game that remains challenging and interesting. I enthusiastically applaud the dedication and effort of its developer. Thanks!

What happened to you W.E.L.D.E.R, you used to be cool?

I have had, and enjoyed, welder for many many years. I first got it when it was given away as a free download from Starbucks. You can do the math for how long ago that was. And I’ve carried it with me and every year or so I play it back from the beginning and I’ve saved up my megawatts and every time I play it I enjoy it. Now imagine my surprise when my game no longer works and I’m forced to download a newer version and now they wanna charge me $4.99 a month to play the game the way that I’m used to playing it for the many many years I’ve had it. Even though the download was initially free I still paid to upgrade it shortly after getting it so that I could have an ad free enjoyable experience. I find it incontciableble that now I’m forced to get into this pay by the month model for a product that I have already purchased. I am very disappointed and sad I don’t get to play anymore

So much for a migration plan...

This WAS one of my favorite games, until the Legacy version lost track of my huge pile of gigawatts and the new version - which so far looks exactly like the legacy game - insists on teaching me the rules all over again. What happened to the promised migration plan? The one where we didn’t lose our game history?Update: I received a response from the developer, which was appreciated, but I have already deleted the legacy game and started playing the new version from scratch, so I assume all history is lost. No idea how to send an email from within the app, as directed - cannot find the ? that is supposed to be there. While I am still unhappy, in the greater scheme of things it’s just a game! Moving on...One last update: changed my rating from one star to five, though 4.5 might be more appropriate. Love the game and the developer response to my negative review was prompt and helpful, but the transition could have gone more smoothly.

What happened? Back to 5 stars!

This was once my favorite 5star word game. I just downloaded this version (as opposed to the legacy version) because the legacy version crashes every time attempt to play. This version goes thru the tutorial then stops and I can’t dismiss the tutorial or continue to start the game. I deleted the app and began again - same problem. Sorry to give a low rating to a once super game; maybe it is my iPad? Hope it can be fixed.***changing back to a 5star game!!! Thank you for the great customer service. I did figure out how to dismiss the tutorial. I will email about other issue. This is a great word game and I’m so glad to continue playing it. Thanks for creating it!

Favorite word game

I play a number of word games and word welder has been my favorite for years. I generally only play other users, not single mode. Game layout is great, each game is different. Mostly skill based but some luck of how the tiles fall. Never a shortage of other players. While other games have come and gone for me, this has been a keeperWish list: faster game play opportunities, optional board sizes for shorter or longer games, easier way to look up words, Game just went through conversion to new build. Developer seems to have put great thought into the migration and worked perfectly. I had a help question re: conversion and sent off to the developer who sent a quick and very helpful solution. I was impressed !

Awesome Game & Customer Service

I had the original W.E.L.D.E.R. it is the best word game out there! It is challenging and smart. I was a bit nervous switching over to the newer version. I lost all my Gigawatts, to an avid player it is a BIG deal and I was freaking out. I sent an email to My Evil Twin they got back to me and helped me migrate all my Gigawatts over to the new version within a day & a half. I did the switch 2 days ago during COVID-19 pandemic and did not expect such a quick response which would be totally understandable under the circumstances. I love this game the developers response and help was outstanding.Thank you to them and all be well!

Best Word Game on Mobile, Hands Down!

I’ve been player WELDER for close to a decade if not longer. I might go a year or more without playing it, then the next time I have the itch to play a word game (after trying a bunch of new ones each time that have yet to compare) I inevitably get hooked all over again and go back to playing daily. Great single player modes and a fun/competitive two player mode.Added bonus, the developer is one of the best in the business when it comes to listening to players.If you’re at all on the fence about whether or not to get this game, just ask yourself, “Do I enjoy well made word games?” If yes then get it. You will not be disappointed.

Migration issue resolved; Developer’s response was great!

Two days ago I gave a rating of 2 stars due to lost data when migrating. The developer contacted me the next day and resolved my problem immediately. I must have missed a step when I originally went through the process, which was my intake, not the developer’s. It was suggested that I contact them with my concerns through email, which I did not know was an option and used the review process to hopefully get results. Again, my mistake for not doing this. This is a FANTASTIC game which I’ve enjoyed playing for years. Very challenging, and there is none other like it. I wholeheartedly give 5 stars for the best word game I’ve played. Thanks for resolving the problem so quickly and efficiently.

WAS a great game

I’ve no problem with developers getting a return on their hard work, but like big name games such as angry birds, these developers decided to get greedy and cash in at the expense of a quality game. I would have paid a one time fee of $10 easily for this game as it is great for air travel and I feel as much as I use it’s worth it. Meaning about once a year I will binge for month then take a long break. Now it’s populated with ads, and wants a monthly subscription of $4.99. Keep in mind, Disney plus is and hbo max are in the $15 range lol. I just don’t see the value. On top of it all, my prior information wouldn’t migrate over and I can’t turn off the vibration when playing on silent. If there’s ever a hall of fame for game apps, this should be considered.
