Love it! Highly recommended

This game is what I have been looking for on the AppStore for a long while. It has a mix of deck building and turn based strategy combat. The main story is also interesting and makes you want to play. The old school type graphics makes you reminisce of RPG’s you used to play and love as a kid. I cannot recommend this enough. P.S. all items can be crafted through in game resources. So if you don’t want to pay for it you can still acquire powerful gear and cards and hold your own with other players in pvp.

Hidden Gen

How did i not know about this, absolutely give this a try if you like turn based rpgs. Wish id been playing since launch! It uses card mechanics that allow you to customize characters and teams, and frankly theres a lot to this. Each hero has multiple viable builds, and get better as you build around other team members. The key is to keep your deck small, with so many options its easy to let your deck grow massive and random. The random aspect really helps keep replay interesting and guilds offer more fun!It is a freemium game, but if you’re willing to watch ads you can actually earn a fair amount each day, allowing you to save for purchases. A monthly package is another good option. All the powerful stuff can absolutely be built for free if youre patient, which is nice.

So many issues with balance

A deck of any size says can be used then when you are in a team it says max 150 and you can’t edit the deck without losing cards. Why would I want to reduce a deck from 239 to 150????????Your spawn rates on these matches are laughable. 15 enemies spawn that are level 13 while you can only max any character to level 15. Oh and why don’t you tell everyone you are not even finished the game? That’s right the game stalls half way through saying “to be continued “. Who makes characters that max out at 15 when you have to fight triple the enemies that are 13? It’s not about buying cards packs stop with the money grabs. It’s impossible numbers. You all are baiting people into buying in game stuff and have no intention of finishing the game. 7 months published and nothing past level 15. Laughable

Nice FTP Tactical RPG

It’s nice, but as with all free-to-play games, it’s geared to drive in-app-purchases more than it tries to deliver excellent gameplay. But that’s the nature of the beast and I’d rather have it ftp, than no game at all and fortunately there are no annoying popup Ads. Otherwise, a few minor issues: I’d rather double-tap to confirm targets than long-press. Long-press is cumbersome and better suited for infrequent ui actions. I also wish the line-of-sight mechanic had a bit more leeway, seems like some positions should have los but targets are ineligible to be attacked. Overall, despite these minor issues, game offers some legitimate tactical RPG gameplay.

Good fun and a true F2P

So, the game is a basic strategy game that blends turn-based mechanics with deck-building. Think of it as Gloomhaven-esque, but not nearly as complex either in combat or story. Regardless, it’s fun.Graphics - good enough. They are adequate. The big downside is that your characters rarely change with new equipment. Story - cheesy and predictable. However, unlike most stories in mobile games, I read this one. It was fun with a handful of decent one-liners and a narrative that (gasp) made sense. It didn’t take itself too seriously but was rooted in fantasy. In other words, forgettable story but entertaining in its 30 second snippets.Gameplay - I mentioned the mechanics, which are fun in small doses. There’s also a low level PVP system and an attempt at guild building. The one big detracting is the you can’t create your own character. An RPG with no character creation - tsk tsk.FTP or PTW - FTP with some commercial watching to gain gems. I dropped a couple bucks on the game as a donation but, honestly, it made no impact on my game. Download it. Play it. Watch some commercials so the developer makes a buck. And then delete after a week or two.

Sweet Game for a while, PVP could use work.

I liked this game a lot the first two weeks. The story telling was awesome the puzzles were fun and there’s even humor in it. If I would of rated it then I would definitely give it 5 stars. now I’m at a point where I replay the same mission over and over again; which gets boring. And even though I’ve been playing for at least a month I’m still weeks away from crafting a legendary ability or item. I mean I’m all for grinding but this game take it’s to the next level. I have 7 hero’s with the main 3 at level 12 and liva at 11. But the thing is when you match up in pvp it’s not real time it’s all AI. And let me tell you a level 12 team can get sweeped by a level 9 or 10 team because they have mystic abilities, legendary gear and 2 or 3 extra characters. But the icing on the cake is they have banners that make the attacks have extreme disadvantage like revivals, discards and heals. So if you kills a character the whole enemy team heals basically 2 attacks worth. And critical hits for defenders seems more often then attackers. I don’t know what the attackers have going for them other than maybe potions which are kinda bleh. Maybe it’s just a match making issues but the way things are now be prepared to lose a-lot of battles because your starter cards will almost always be vs end game epic ones. Still try it out for a while and see what I mean. You’ll have fun for a minute I promise

First impressions

Incredible game. Just picked up Corso and so far I can say, best I’ve played in App Store and top ten of all games I’ve ever played. I know that sounds ridiculous, but that’s how I feel. Maybe things will change, we’ll see.1) extremely reasonable prices for a gotcha. I feel like makers were abused by other gotcha themselves and came to this with that mindset.2) dark gritty western style rpg elements WITH SWEARING (none of that cutesy pandering jrpg crap). That takes balls and a dedication to the vision for their world.3) excellent mechanics. Each card and class has a purpose. Some are more niche, but a thoughtful player can take advantage to great benefit.4) maps and enemies are varied and interesting.5) the grind is quite reasonable compared with other gotchas.6) a satisfying sense of consequence when upgrading cards and gear.7) decent replay value with challenges and alternate story elements. The only complaint I have is that four character per battle feels more fun than three. Five would be too many. Otherwise *standing o*. I’m a fan.

Progression is painfully slow

Honestly, it’s a solid game. One of the simplest, straightforward yet rewarding games I’ve ever played on iOS. I’ve probably left reviews on less than 3 apps ever, but felt this deserved one. It’s definitely not a pay to win game, though I’ve thrown like $50 at it since I feel like the developers deserve it. I genuinely enjoy it, but then you hit “the wall” around level 8. Progression was relatively smooth til then, then it just becomes this painful, sluggish crawl of repeating the same looooooong battles over and over just for a tiny slither of experience. I’ve seen this in other games and the solution for those types is because you hit a pay wall. But in this one there’s not even a way to pay to get past. You just gotta grind. I could rattle off a list of pros about it as well. There’s lots of them. This would be something I would play a very, very long time and toss a few bucks at it here and there, but the problem is there’s no point because you won’t get anywhere and money isn’t necessary. You literally just gotta grind, which considering the length of battles compared to rewards, kind of ruins what is otherwise an amazing game and very well made.

Has Potential

Was a fun game through level 6. Now I’m stuck and can’t progress any further in the story. Seriously, 3 heroes vs 5-7 enemies (including a boss and a spawn point for them) is crazy and the enemy range units can hit me at twice the distance that my ranged heroes can. I can’t even use melee heroes because the range ones just run away and hit me at a distance. Also, the card concept is awesome, but SO slow and aggravating. Waiting for the enemies to work their way through their turn is excruciating and having to click a card, have it blown up, and having to click it again (I guess to confirm?) is frustrating. I figured I made some rookie mistakes in the beginning with weapons and leveling up, but I can’t reset my progress and try again. Seems like there’s no good way to progress unless I dump a lot of money into the game.

Game is fun! Tired of Clan Systems Though

This game is really fun but I don’t know why there is a clan system in this game. There’s no context story wise for it to exist and yet it is integral to help grow your card collection. Really tired of clan systems in mobile games because the the clans almost always die out and your left stuck in an inactive guild. What is particularly frustrating about this games Implementation is you can’t participate in events until you’re a member of the guild. You start as a recruit but if all the leaders no longer play the game you’re screwed and will never get to member status.
