10% strategy, 40% luck, 50% Repetition

The art is consistent in style and unique. At least there is no Auto button. The winner will be whoever spends the most time in the game.I don’t think there is much here to satisfy people who actually enjoy deckbuilding roguelikes. Choose 5 characters to take into battles. Each character has 3 cards. In total, you have a 15 card deck. Each turn you are presented with 3 cards. Play one of them or “pass” to discard the left-most card and gain 1 mana.Gain characters through a gacha system. Due to the small size of the cast and lack of tactical control, the meta leaves little room for creativity.Newly featured is a daily challenge that removes all your planning or potential advantage - get a prebuilt team of characters, then try to beat the enemy. Challenge tuning varies wildly. Some days, the challenge is a mere luck fest because the deck composition rarely allows for meaningful tactical decisions. Though I expect the user-engagement and ad views will increase thanks to the RNG.

New favorite mobile game

Like slay the spire but more casual with a huge amount of ways to build your deck from various characters/units. Personally love the art style being darker and simple. Favorite part is the multiplayer and how the interaction between the players and the boss works. Really fun trying out different combinations of units and seeing how well each deck works out. Would be better if the pvp recharged quicker but still don’t mind grinding exploration and arena while waiting. Can’t wait to see what the Guild has to offer. Hope this game keeps on expanding.

Good game, but lacks long term enjoyment

This is a great game. It’s entirely possible to play free as long as you only pick it up every couple of hours or so, which to be honest is just like every other free game on mobile. Story mode and pvp is both fun and tactical, although you have to play for a bit and carefully read your characters and find synergy to build good teams. The two gripes I have with this experience is an optional tower mode that feels out of place, lacking the strategy that makes the rest of the game great, and the static pvp system. You beat someone and you go up in rank, but your rank never resets so it starts to become boring due to the lack of rewards, from rewards every set to only rewarding after 50 wins in a row.

A great deck building game that doesn’t beat you with ads or in app purchases

A+ to the developers for not making this game an ad revenue blackhole or constantly badgering you for in app purchases. It starts off slow because it’s pretty easy at first, but you can collect different characters with different abilities that act as your cards. Offense, defense or a special. Once you get through the first 10 levels and get some characters, it starts to get difficult and the advent of the pvp gets pretty fun. It’s a little weird at first, but once you know the rules it adds a nice twist from the exploration mode. They’re still adding to it as well so join now to enjoy the later additions!

Not the clone I expected!

Thought I was getting another P2W cheap knock off of Slay the Spire. I was completely wrong. It’s truly F2P and no forced Ads in fact zero ads. If did start with some Spire in its DNA but it also added its own spin on it and for me they were all the right changes. Lastly they are actively adding more content. I never write reviews but I want to promote games this fun without ADs.

Great hidden gem

At this point this game is a hidden gem but could easily become a popular game. It has all the trappings of a free to play game but I don’t feel any pressure to buy stuff. It has the art of darkest dungeon, plays like a card based rogue game. Easy to pick up and put down in a couple of minutes. Strongly looking forward to seeing this game down the line.

Rougelike Regular

I like rougelikes, and play various ones, each for their own unique takes on the genre. I enjoy the 5-cast system where each cast member contributes 3 cards to your 15 card deck. There’s tons of combinations as each character has their own unique 3. I’m sure you have the potential to utilize even a gray-rarity character in a powerful squad. That being said, micro transactions. They’re there for people willing to spend. But I’m enjoying it a ton as a F2P. Give it an honest amount of play and you won’t want to put it down.

Absolutely Phenomenal

Beautiful style for the game. The gameplay is smooth and has great mechanics. The survival mode is also unique. This is the first game I’ve seen that type of PvP style. I’d like to see a campaign added for extra role playing and possibly character names with back stories to assist with finding my favorite instead of just who is most useful. Other than that, the game is well worth 5 stars.

1/2 & 1/2 hero collected/cards

Gameplay uses cards, but you DON’T collect or level them. In the standard way, you collect and level heroes, from treasure chests. Each hero automatically brings 3 cards, representing their skills. 4 heroes means 12 cards to fight with (which repeat), 4 face-up at a time. That’s random enough, but still predictable. There’s a neat mix of skills which work together. The advanced modes use random heroes (even ones you don’t have). A bit too random. PvP mode is odd — you both fight an unkillable boss, whoever dies first loses, and damage you do to the boss makes it hit them harder.

Decent concept but subpar execution !!

The game seems perfectly balanced, to the point where even the perks have a draw back when you select them. The game doesn’t seem to give you even an inch. In my view some of the bosses are unnecessarily challenging. At the lion titan on the second valley will be the first paywall. My main issue with the game is in its mechanics—it’s too random. When the commands become rng it’s difficult to set up actions properly in order to get the desired result. Aside from this the game seems to be decent. When the clan system will come into play I think the game will improve. Unnamed cave is my favourite mode, it allows one to learn which team combinations are efficient and effective. I log in every day just to play that mode. The rest of the game modes are nothing to write home about. Overall it’s a fun game, rewards are pathetic, and mechanics are super rng. I dig the concept but not the execution.
