Boring

Very boring story and very user unfriendly navigation. Does not worth time spent.

Interesting premise but...

Absolutely nonsensical. Not worth your time.

Do not play this

I love Cotton games, but this was awful. There's barely any game to it - a few very simple puzzles - so it's basically an interactive story. But this story is awful in every way, for no real purpose. Dead kids, adultery, abandonment, betrayal, a horrifyingly traumatic experience, and more. I'm guessing it was supposed to be deep and moving, but the pain just felt manipulative.

Very creative

I love all the Cotton games and was happy to stumble upon a new one in the App Store. This one is very different from the others. It’s more story based with a few very easy puzzles throw in. I normally don’t like story based games, but this one was very creative with an interesting (but sad) story and it didn’t have long boring dialogue. My only complaint is that it’s super short and took me less than an hour to complete.

Don’t do it

Game is painful. Not like the others. This is a train wreck. Horrible, boring, makes no sense. Just painful and I’m deleting it after 5 minutes of my life I’ll never get back. And the $1.99.

Dark, different

A sad nightmare story more than a game. Instead of wandering around different locations you scroll through it more like a book.

Excellent Game

This is an interesting game and fun to play. What good is a game where the puzzles are so hard that you hit delete and walk away confused and frustrated? Do not listen to the naysayers! The game Old Man’s Journey had plenty of critics, but is now considered a classic.

Pretty nice, but confusing

While the game is pretty short and I got really confused with a puzzle or two, but that’s because I’m an idiot. The story of this game did get to me and I was surprised in the end, while at first I wanted a refund after reading some reviews, I’m glad I didn’t.

Description

You don’t read this story. It shakes, collides and tumbles… it tells itself as if alive. Its intriguing interaction, beautiful art and animation will immerse you in a wonderful yet thrilling world. David, the protagonist, receives a letter, and returns to the town which he hasn’t seen for ages. The once lively carnival is now deserted. Weird things happen during this nostalgia trip and old memories keep flashing back. He must find the truth.  With the story unveils itself piece by piece, will David hold the courage to face everything?

Are his memories real, or are they missing a piece, which may have been kept in a small box? Christopher Nolan wrote in his film Following: Everybody has a box, which holds their big secrets. And here we present this box to you. All you need to do, is open it, take whatever in it, and return to the White Bird Carnival with David. Oh and of course, it is locked with a combination, which perhaps you have to find first.
