Useless
The free version or maybe even the pro version does not let you see yourself on video as you read the teleprompter so your viewers can see your face as you read from the teleprompter so could not try it like I wanted. Developers are too cheap to let us try the pro version and see all the features so fine, they get 2 stars for wasting my time. Thanks for playing!
Couldn’t get this product to work
Instructions for importing .txt file were not correct. Figured it out and got the file imported into the teleprompter app. But, file did not appear to be readable by the app. Nothing happened when I attempted to “Start” the teleprompter. It appears that this product has not been updated in 4 years? Maybe that is why it just doesn’t work. I will attempt to get the $$ back that I paid to upgrade.
Great app
Not sure why there as so many that complain about this app. It is free and does what it needs to do: scroll text at the desired rate. If you want to edit text, do it in a text editor and copy it to the app when ready. That way you get what you need. It works great for me. No complaints.
Don’t bother unless you’re ready to pay!
You can’t even do the most basic things without paying for the Pro version. Come on, can’t even name your scripts. Can’t even paste???? I feel robbed even though it was a free download for completely wasting time and effort. You can’t even do anything unless you send them your name and email address to get a key to open it! Can’t believe this is even allowed here as it’s completely disabled w/o paying.

when the very basic tasks of renaming scripts or pasting text fail quite miserably from a user-experience standpoint — and they do in this app, you can bet that the higher-end functions don’t work either. then i touched on the “get teleprompter pro” button to see what the deal was. it took me to the app store, as expected. but now, every time i launch the app it (a) tries to take me back to the store even before i can do anything or (b) resprings my iPad. there are four teleprompter apps i've looked at so far. there are two each by two "different" developers. each set has a lite and a pro/premium version and the two sets are so similar they share even some of the same bugs. i smell a scam.i won’t be using this app, and i most certainly won’t be upgrading to the “pro” version. “pro” what? pros at taking my money. no thanks!!!
Simple, Simple, Simple
Dare I say more. I don’t know what other people are looking for but if you need to put a script together and read it into a microphone while adjusting the scrolling text to your speaking ability this is it. You type the script, save it and then adjust the scroll speed. What else do you people need. so simple I wish I could have seen a review like this before I started looking through the mass amounts of not what I was looking for TelePrompTers.
Only free if you type in no importing
The free version of the app will only allow you to type in text to read. If you want to do anything else, you have to purchase the premium version. Not that there’s anything wrong with that, but I would like to actually try the app by importing at least one document or seeing how the app functions by using other features before prompting me to purchase the upgrade.

I found out about this from a few DIY YouTubers, and it has helped me muddle through the creation of several videos for my distance learning students. I can write my script, adjust the speed it scrolls by, and I can appear to really know what I am talking about!
Where’s the curser?
So where is the curser to start writing?… Oh,… you have to start writing before the curser shows up. This is a major problem. It’s a guessing game. If you plan on double spacing you can only hope the curser is where it should be. If you single space and hit enter to go to the next line you have to hit it twice and the curser still isn’t going to show up for you to know if it even went to the next line to start another sentence. If they can’t get the simple version to work, why would you by the pro version? The concept is great but it has to work. It’s kind of like an airplane design made of stone.

I have a military background in television filming, and teleprompters were crucial in the creation of most of our projects at the Pentagon.Now that I have this app on my iPad, I have the ability to film studio-quality campaign speeches for my election, right from my home, during this Wuhan pandemic.
