Two Projects for a Trial

The title speaks for itself. The app: it’s functions, features, custom attributes are well thought out and perform as desired. That’s why it gets 2 stars. It’s nothing special per any other Tasks app except for how colorful it is. I will say similar yet better is the amount of colors that can be assigned per a project is wonderfully surprising vs. the native Reminders app. Here’s the rub — Per the title, only two (2) projects and a third project pulls up the window pane to purchase the app and make it licensed. I think a trial for two projects is absurd. Give us at least 5 before requiring purchase. It just make me want to go back and use the Reminders app especially after looking at your pricing. Talk about greedy. If you’re going to charge a yearly fee it better come with new features monthly instead of additional users — this likely doesn’t help the average consumer. Ever heard of a tiered pricing structure for enabling features or added bonuses or a one time fee for X something or another? You’re app is just too expensive for what you get. I’ll go back to Reminders or another app called TickTick is also free regardless the amount of projects or tasks you add.

Good so far

Better than most digital to do lists that I’ve ever worked with, if not all of them. I’ve tried setting up to do list systems using Todoist, Evernote, Milanote, Tot, Sidenote, Google Docs, Keep, Tasks & Sheets, Excel, Trello, Notion, Scrap Paper, Reminders, & many more virtual software projects - none of which ever worked better than my physical notebook…. That is….Until this freaky app caught my normally jaded eyes.I’m actually happy to open Tasks anytime a new to-do comes to mind, regardless of whether I’m using my Macbook, Phone, or iPad. They’re all pleasant to use & the cross-device sync is even faster & more reliable than iCloud Notes. I hate writing reviews but Jesus took the wheel here & so I’m reporting to bring the good news. Tasks is the last one I’ll ever need after decades of subpar software. Don’t you want to declutter & shelve your action items using just ONE APP ALONE?!? This is it, boys - you asked and they delivered with frictionless simplicity & smooth ux, Tasks - the FINAL LIST FROM YOUR FINGER LICKIN FANTASY 😋😚

A Ton of Potential

I am very happy to have discovered this task manager because it introduces a lot of features you won’t find elsewhere! The ability to customize the fields and statuses on a per-project basis really allows you to setup this task manager how exactly you need. That being said, the app does seem a bit buggy at times, with animations and screens sometimes jittering. I also wish the app had more customizability regarding dates. For my tasks, I often like to have a Start Date and a Deadline. However, it seems the app only uses the Start Date (or earliest date of the set) for putting tasks in the Today filter, as well as determining which tasks are Overdue. I wish I could set which date should be used for today, which for notifications, and which for overdue. This is definitely an app I will continue to keep an eye on as new features are added!

Great app even greater developer

I’ve been using this app since the beta. It has a native iOS feel, more customization options than most task apps by larger companies and on top of that the developer is super responsive. All this from a developer that’s a 1 man team. Matter of fact I had a suggestion for a feature that would be super helpful to me and the developer responded agreeing it would be a great feature then a month later when that feature rolled out, he remembered me and contacted me directly letting me know he added and asked me to check out. Again the app is great, and the developer is dedicated to making sure he delivers great value to his customers. Can’t get better than that!

Canceling subscription due to bugs

Sadly I am canceling my subscription due to the current bugs which have not been fixed despite numerous conversations with Mustafa, the app’s developer. He has ceased to respond to follow up emails. A patch has not been released. There are too many bugs at this point (December 12, 2022) especially when working across multiple projects with extensive lists. I have spent three hours today (and many hours over the past two weeks) trying to make this app work for me, but the bugs now make it impossible. Just to name a few of the bugs, unable to delete tasks further down the list due to scrolling issues, date issues, when you check off a task through the reminder notification it doesn’t check the task off within the app any longer… these are just a handful of the bugs… I fear the developer has given up due to the radio silence. I just renewed my subscription for the second year, but I will be contacting Apple for a full refund. The app doesn’t do what it says it does any longer. And it used to be a spectacular app.

Significant improvement, but .. updated

This latest version is a significant impprovement however:1. I just found out that Tasks does not use the Share extension. I wanted to link a page from one of my apps with important info to a task, and found that Tasks does not show up in the list of supported apps. For an app that was built for MacOS and iOS from the start, this is a glaring deficiency.2. Subtasks should be collapsed or displayed only within the task info; the number of outstanding subtasks/total tsaks should be displayed next to each task with subtasks.3. Adding a note field is nice. There should be an icon next to each task or subtask that has an associated note.4. We should have the ability to add notes field and image field to tasks at the app preferences level so we do not have to repeat this for each individual task.

Exceptional app

This is an outstanding app that ingeniously combines the advantages of a light project management database with the visual cues of a kanban board. The result is software that allows users to configure workflows to their specific requirements. I have used many task managers/productivity software and not come across something as fresh and well-designed as this in several years. The developer would do well to build an actual website to promote Tasks (instead of linking to a social media account) as I think it takes a bit of experimentation to really get how the app works and to appreciate the power of user-defined statuses. Keep up the GREAT work!!

Just what I needed

I’ve been using this little app for several months now and it is perfect for me. Not everyone needs all the bells and whistles (and complications) of a lot of these apps. I don’t need “teams”, project timelines, graphs and charts, etc. I simply need something that is simple, populates across devices, and let’s me see and manage current projects/to-do’s in a straightforward way. This app does just that. The one comment that I would make that might appeal to many users is to make the comments for a task visible when viewing the task list. At least give the user the option of viewing the comments or collapsing them. Just a thought. Other than that, this app is great.

Love it, but...

The layout is clean, simple and efficacious for a productive day. I keep it open on my desk and all the proper dopamine responses are triggered when I tap a completed task and it move silently but triumphantly from the "Todo" column to "Done." Don't sleep on this one.Review update: I reduced my star rating from 5 to 3. I still really like the potential of this app. However, I had hoped that I could create a work weeks' worth of projects at least, so that I could look back over my successes and challenges using this routine before deciding to upgrade to the paid version. Unfortunately, I could only create two projects before payment was requested. The alternative was to delete the two existing projects and start over with a clean slate. That was not enough time to establish a habit or enough info to assess whether a year's subscription is worth the investment. It may not be a big deal for some., but I don't consider a year's subscription to be an incidental expenditure.

Best Tasks manager I’ve personally ever used

Tried this app for free about three days ago, and enjoyed using it so much, I decided to just purchase the lifetime pass. Does everything I need, and has many ways to customize the task you create. While using the app, I requested a feature that I thought wasn’t available yet from the developer. And within 10 minutes he responds with screen shots and instructions for the very feature I thought was missing, which was the ability to add notes to your task. Not only that I also found out you can even add pictures to your task and many other things. I highly recommend this app, and will be telling friends and family about it also.

Description

Things that need to get done don't always have a binary state. They aren't always 'to-do,' and 'done.' That's why you need an app that tracks when you're actually doing something, lets you tag it to suit your needs, and lets you set a priority for individual commitments so nothing falls through the cracks. Items can be in progress, in testing, on hold, and more – and it's all customizable to your specific needs and workflow Statuses like 'Review,' 'Test,' and more are just a few clicks away.

Because the best way to see project progress in in a Kanban view, Tasks has that as well! Tasks is the task manager you've been waiting for to help take your productivity to the next level and beyond. Some of Tasks key features include: * Tags so you can immediately see what phone calls need to be made, or what needs to be collected from the local grocery store. * Folders, projects, tasks, and sub-tasks so you can organize your life hierarchically in a way that makes sense to you, not the app. * Create and save smart lists and perform powerful queries across projects. * Support for a powerful Kanban view, so you'll know which tasks are at in what state and where they need to go next. * Endless customization on a per-project basis. Tasks can have a notes field, URL field, description field, remarks field and more all depending on a project's needs. Priorities and tags are fully customizable as well. * Tag and date recommendations that can be used or ignored – it's up to you! * Attachments including PDFs and images so you always have the information you need when taking on a new item from your to-do list. * iCloud sync support so your tasks, and their state, always follow you from iPhone to iPad to Mac and back again. * Apple's latest features and APIs. Home screen widgets, dark mode, split-screen view on iPad, and more are all included to make it easier and faster than ever to get your work done. * Keyboard and trackpad support – if your iPad is your computer, Tasks has your back. * Widgets so you have your tasks right on your Home Screen for quick and easy access. * Siri Shortcuts for all of you power users. * Tasks adapts its font size to work well with your preference so nothing is too small or too large for your screen. * Some other features include, Quick notes, Time Sensitive notifications, rich notifications with actions, dark mode and a whole lot more. Tasks takes your privacy extremely seriously. None of your data ever leaves iCloud and your devices. We can't see it, and we don't want to. Tasks is a one time purchase across all of your Apple devices, including the Mac app. Pay once, use everywhere. Updated to take the best of iOS 15 and macOS Monterey, try Tasks on all platforms.
