User Reviews for Smart Tasks - Lists Made Easy

maybe this is the one?

I bounce around from one task manager to another, always searching for just the right thing. This one feels right, using a simple interface that has the visual appeal of categorizing things according to color and having a great font. I love how it syncs between Mac and iPhone and how it's really easy to move stuff around from one day or category to another. I'm just starting to fine tune it. But the one thing that I have a hard time with is that there are very few keystroke shortcuts. In particular, when I'm creating a task, I can't quickly enter it with a keystroke and I can't jump between fields with the tab or anything else that I can figure out. It would be great to be able to quickly jot something down and add it just with the keyboard. (Things, for example, does a good job of this, but I don't like the look and complexity of that nearly as much as Smart Tasks.)

My Favorite app of ALL TIME

I have never left a review for an app before - this is my first. I am literally * obsessed * with this app. The way everything is so customizable, the ease of use, the grouping, the way it is so intuitive as to how you would make a to-do list on actual paper - I could go on. I am a to-do list freak and this checks all my boxes. I downloaded around 20 organizational apps and this one was far superior to all of the other ones. Not to mention, this app works with the Apple Pen seamlessly, whereas most of the other ones I've tried are not really compatible or intuitive with the pen. 10/10 recommend - I am a customer for LIFE!! My only suggestion and request would be that once you “complete” an item and it goes to the completed items list, that the items are still categorized by day instead of just one big list. I have to fill out daily timesheets for work (but usually do at the end of the month) and it would be really helpful to be able to go back to the completed items list and see everything still categorized by day.

Excellent organizational tool at its best!

I started using this app about 4 month ago to help me stay organized and compartmentalize tasks I need to do within my business. This has been such a life saver and feel much more organized in my business. I love the options to create various categories and how I want to schedule tasks out. It is nice to look at what I have scheduled for the day to see what needs to get done. What I also enjoy is the ability to move tasks to a different day if something doesn’t get done. It helps to eliminate the guilt and shame of not getting everything done on your list. The ability to mark a task as “completed” is also very helpful. I’m so glad this app was recommended to me by one of my coaches!

Amazing App!

This app is absolutely amazing, and worth every penny. I love how I can have multiple lists, and be able to move to dos under certain days or whenever, and if I do the to do often I can just slide it to the next day I need to do it rather than click it off. I also like being able to see my completed to dos when I go back through week by week to see my highlights of the week. I had to turn the reminders app part off though because it drove me nuts that I could see the reminders, but that it does not work back and forth with the reminders app, such as bringing all my reminders in automatically for the days they fall on, but making it possible to click them off within this app and have them also be clicked off in the reminders app too. That would make this app perfect and would be what it takes for me to give it the full 5 stars! This has allowed me to manage my hectic life on the go and I love it!

All you need

Let me start by saying that this app has changed my life in terms of organization. I’m a kid who tends to forget things I need to do in the next 5 days often. I am also a kid who would spur random checklists on my notes app and would lose them and forget I even wrote them. This app does it all and in such a simple format. With the touch of 3 or 4 buttons, you are able to get your task posted quickly and effectively. I have tried many apps before, and this is by far the easiest to use and manage QUICK and on the fly. Heck, I even pay monthly for it! I don’t pay monthly for ANY other app - I find it so so worth it. I can go on and on but you get the point. The app is great.

Smart Tasks

Extremely simple layout and easy to just jot down a quick thought or use it to layout a plan for your week! Large text with it’s simplistic design doesn’t overwhelm the user. It’s not like opening my iPhone calendar or reminders apps where there are so many categories and you have to specify if you want it to actually remind you or else it will sit in there never to be thought of again. ADHD/ADD friendly (for my mind but everyone is different). Regular occurrences in my mind are: Something you need to remember to do in a day pops into your mind at a random time/place. But I don’t want to scroll through a calendar, get mixed up on the number date, pick a specific time for it to appear, etc. In my mind all those customizable details makes adding something way to complex to even want to do it (I would rather write a shorthand note on paper and carry it around wherever I go.). All I do is open the app, the next 7 days will appear in a list, press the big green “+”, type what just popped into your head, pick the day that you want to see it visually listed under, then click the big green “Add”. DONE.

Favorite Task List App

I am the type of person who has to have the best possible ___ and so I always look through all the options and try them out before making a decision. Over the years I have tried out at least 20 different task apps and SmartTasks is easily my favorite. It is simple to use, and the widget options are the best. I have ADD & need to write down almost everything and this app makes it easy. I also love that it’s easy to change the colors, so it feels really good for me to look at. There are options so you can choose whether to make a task due on a certain day or time or make it due “whenever”. If you don’t have time to research and find your favorite task app I can confidently recommend SmartTasks. And if you do have time to research, my guess is you will choose this app, too!

You Want - No NEED - This App

Well let me be the first to say that I’m a very compulsive organizer & obsessive over time management. We’re talking 2 planners, daily reminders, & lists on lists of more lists. 🥴 I’m taking a pretty heavy course load this semester & I work full time, like most of us do, & the crazy organization is the only way that I can keep up with it all without falling behind. This app is a D R E A M if you’re someone like me (hopefully not as extreme because I’m not having a good time) or someone wanting to get organized. It’s very customizable & has multiple options per task to make it what you need it to be. For example: I have each class broken up into a Task & within it are all of my assignments, due dates, exam days, etc..I also made a Task full of “routines” to help keep me on track with weekly studying & reading. Super helpful is also the ability to look ahead at the next 7 days. It gives a good look at what to expect in the coming days. I could really go on & on, but I’ll finish up with saying that there’s something super satisfying about marking a task as complete & watching it disappear off the list. Just as satisfying is seeing the completed list. Honestly just do it. Download it. You won’t regret it.

Vital App for ADHD brain.

This app has been a vital tool for me for the last few years & the only one to meet my very specific needs having severe, chaotic, disorganized ADHD with debilitating lack of executive functioning skills like extreme forgetfulness and time blindness (no concept of time). Smart Tasks is the only app I’ve found to use consistently after installing nearly hundreds of similar apps over the years. Smart Tasks meets my very specific needs. If something is out of sight, not in my face - it doesn’t exist. So the widget was incredibly important. I keep a clipboard to list my daily brain dump (all tasks & ideas that come to mind) & then migrate each task to my life categories which I color-code. I color-code every life category like home, work, college, priority, projects, misc. I’m able to color-code my categories in the app and I can choose to schedule my tasks or set reminders or not. I have a widget stack for each category to show my tasks. I’m only upset about the paywall that seems to be the case for all iPad apps now. I don’t remember every having to pay for this app prior. While the pricing isn’t expensive ($3-4/mo) or ($11-12/yr) — it’s disappointing. I’ve recently searched again for any and all app’s similar & yet to find any that meets all my requirements. Looks like I’ll be purchasing a yearly subscription though I wish I could just pay a lifetime pay instead. The app is absolutely worth it.

Best app for routine so far

I’ve downloaded so many apps for tasks + recurring routine-type tasks. and none of them check allll the boxes. this one comes close. wishlist: • for the events synced from calendar to be in chronological order in with the tasks - not necessarily the big color button but not just listed above the tasks so like this: 8:30 am Task 9 am Calendar Event 9:15 am Task 9:45 am Task 10 am Calendar Event 10:30 am Task • that the completed tasks remain visible but marked out and toned down in the “Schedule” view when you click on a date in the calendar so you can see what you accomplished on that specific day. • sub-tasks that can be completed too• a way to mark something as skipped or missed so it doesn’t push forward but it’s also still there so you can see where you slacked. • a timestamp of when an item is completed within the Tasks details cons: adding hex values for one color yields a brighter color for the actual button, the hex should be assigned to the button color and not the task info page background and it’s either buggy or just not programmed where the category options in creating/editing tasks holds that custom color - some have been completely blank no color no words, or light gray with no words. Thanks!
