I’m a little disappointed…

When I saw this app advertising on my TikTok for you page, I was astonished by its works. I wasted no time and downloaded the app thinking how fun it will be to show my Samoan Elders/ Family Members. When I opened the app however I tried finding the Samoan language to translate it to but found no luck. The app doesn’t even have my language. I’m a little disappointed because I don’t really care to see the other languages. I am still in love with the works of this app and the whole concept is amazing. And I know that the people who made this are working very hard to translate langurs… I just wish that the Polynesian Languages (Samoan, Tongan, Hawaiian, Fijian, and etc.) were an addition to this fine masterpiece.

Good app, but has serious issue

The app translates better than any other app for Hindi, but it has one really serious flaw: it does not filter out curse words. The app translated “cuddle” to the f-word when I was talking about my cat and thankfully my husband, who is a native Hindi speaker, corrected the mistake for me. This should not happen and there should be a way to report issues to the app developer, but there isn’t. They lose at least two stars, potentially three in my book for this major flaw.

Thought I was getting a free version

I work at the airport so I downloaded the app to help with a passenger who spoke no English. The voice translator didn’t work at all, so was using the text. I thought perhaps because of it being a “free version”. Well, it’s not free, I was charged $76, not aware of that (call me clueless). Tried to use it again, the talk feature was jenky, wasn’t catching what I was saying. It was really frustrating trying to use it with a passenger. So I’m deleting this app but I want to know how to remove it from my iTunes so it doesn’t charge my Apple Pay again in the future. Please respond and let me know how, pleas and thank you app developer people.

Disappointed

I truly don’t mind paying for a good app because someone spent lots of time creating it and that’s usually worth the price you need to pay for good work. But this app is very expensive and I downloaded it to try it out to see if it was actually as good as they say. Never actually was able to get it to work… every time I tried to test it out I spent more time clicking through the offers than actually translating. Every time I opened the app I spent all my time trying navigating through the offers and never actually translating. Sorry to say I’m not paying 70$ a year if I don’t know if it’s actually as good as they advertise. 😢

Surprisingly good, even with strong dialects

I wanted to test this with a strong—and some would call strange—dialect to see if it could catch it and translate accurately. (Google almost never can.) So I used my Fränkisch dialect—even turned it up a notch, actually—and the translator caught literally every word but one, and that was most likely because the phrase “gehen wir” in Fränkisch is pronounced very similarly to the word “Gamer” and that’s what the translator guessed. Overall I’m super impressed.

Horrible translation quality. Also no option to cancel subscription

I used this app for a trip to Europe. I had a native Turkish speaker with me who reviewed the translations,And over 130 conversational attempts only FOUR were translated properly. Some were incomprehensible and seriously flawed. My friend said there’s no way a non-English speaking Turk would have understood what I meant via the translator. Google free translator did just as well, and better a few times. Definitely not worth paying for, which I did. Also, when attempting to cancel the subscription there is no option to do so under settings. The entire experience was disappointing.

It is a good app!! ☺️☺️

The reason why I gave it four stars isn’t because it is not worthy or bad, because of the free trial. I kinda don’t like those but in this app I guess it is understandable. Anyways, I really recommend this FREE app for people to use. There is ONE thing to remember though, it needs WiFi but I think that it is understandable because it is an excellent app to use! Sometimes I even use it to help me learn a few terms in other languages! Anyways , stay away from google translate and use this app instead! I thank you for reading my review and hope you find this very helpful! 💕💕🥰🥰

No Amharic Voices

I would give this app a perfect score but there are no Amharic voices. I plan on traveling to Ethiopia in the near future and I can only write in English and see what those words are in Amharic written form. That’s not going to help me if I quickly need to know how to get somewhere while in the middle of a conversation. I would like to be able to speak or write in English and the app translate and speaks in Amharic out loud, in a male voice so locals can at least somewhat understand me in the moment. I believe if I speak in Amharic and translate that into English, I do get a voice. We just need voices when speaking in English to Amharic. P.S.Yawl need to add Tigrinya as well as I will be traveling to Eritrea in the future. 👍🏽

No longer easy to access

Have had the app (purchased) for several months and was impressed with the ability to translate early on. Over the past month, it is harder and harder to access. It will not open half the time and when it does, it takes FOREVER to open and translate. I upgraded to the most recent version so not sure what the change is but it is frustrating after I paid for the entire year. I use this app quite a bit as well.

How good this app is

I love how I get to hear people talk Spanish I love how people tell me what’s your favorite food tell me where to go and then go out of town to China I really like people tell me about to spin my teacher at school she speaks Spanish and I really use this app to help her so I feel good about this app my music teacher talk Spanish so I got a Spanish teacher basically everybody that is in my school talk Spanish I go to my Spanish school everybody I want to talk Spanish I can talk Spanish presidential is how we tell our teacher we’re here this is this is what I learned from my Spanish teacher Ta Gusta la Pizza that is asking do you like pizzaThis is how you say no No no Me Gusta Ia Pizza this is how you say you like it see Me Gusta la pizza this app is really good that’s why I gave you guys a star rating a number five I really want to give you guys a 10 that is how I know how to say some of these words I really wish that it will be very easy for my teacher to talk like we do thank you for this app I was gonna say I love it see you guys soon peace🤪
