So many problems

This would be a great game if there were not so many problems but there always are. The game has not advanced more than one map in the 4 months I’ve been playing. They give you lots of special events to keep you playing, which is better than nothing. But the special events have lots of programming problems… or maybe they are intentional to make you spend more real money. This game is a HUGE money grab. Each special event has tasks. You complete the tasks and the players who score the highest win the most prizes. The problem here is all of the items that you need to make to complete a task do not get counted. I took a photo several hours ago of the tally of items I had made to complete my task. I’ve since made several more items to complete the task. The items that I keep making do not show up, so I can not complete the task. It takes a lot of energy to make these items and energy is hard to come by. This is not the first special event this problem has happened in. The help board is filled with people complaining about problems that sound like programming glitches. Using the settings to try to fix these problems is very risky because many including myself have had their game reset to the beginning by touching the wrong thing is settings. (There’s a mystery button that will wipe you out if you touch it with no warning).Anyway, it’s fun to play but the massive problems will frustrate you.

Great so far

I have been playing Family Farm Adventure for at least a year now. While it's great, over the months they have made things a bit more expensive in the game. It is almost impossible to earn energy in that game. If you want more energy be prepared to spend between $5-$20 for the good stuff. Or, you could not play the game for a month straight and just keep hoarding energy. I saw an ad for Sarah's Adventure and I first dismissed it, but seeing it's great reviews (4.7 stars) I decided to download it. And I really love it so far!! I have more energy at the start than I did with Family Farm Adventure. I have at least 2000 right now. Not to mention things don't necessarily require much energy to break. I like that you have many opportunities to gain more energy, coins, and gems. The in-app purchased are a very affordable and reasonable price. It's not like you're paying a hefty amount for a small benefit in exchange. The plot line is quit interesting too. I like that your dog companion gives you a good amount of energy when it recharges. A message to the devs, don't change anything about this game! Keep it the way it is!!

Well… Nice try…

These kind of games that required a lot of energy refills often rob the fun out of the game. Once you pass the initial set up of your home base, the money asking energy requirement begins. This game is no different except I am giving it the credit of trying to allow players to ‘find’ energy along the way (sort of) by placing berry cooking stations and digging energy providing plants, etc. However, I said ‘sort of’ because often time the energy is not enough to sustain even one task and either I have to go back to home base to eat from the kitchen or just have to wait for energy to refill, which really is such nuisance that I have no problem to stop playing and delete the game eventually. I have even made a purchase to test out how long that may last me, which, was kind of disappointing…There are may be only a hand full of energy required games that handle the energy issue very well and I have no problem keep purchasing energy when needed. One energy purchase in those games last me a good amount of play time, complete the tasks, earn enough energy along the way to keep playing the smaller tasks, and keep advancing throughout the game. When after purchasing over a 1000 unit of energy and it is done and gone in 5 minutes, that’s not worth my money.

Love/Hate

Where to begin….I had this game on my phone for months and played regularly, I figured it was saved to my Apple account, but I guessed wrong. I recently got a new phone (first upgrade in 5 years) and none of the game was saved, so I finally gave up and deleted the game, despite months of progress. A week or so later, I couldn’t find a replacement game, so I reluctantly uploaded the game to my iPad (what I should have done from the beginning = hindsight). I planned to simply start a new account, work my way back through, and at least play the side events for fun. Well, I’m now at a lower level and the newest event is ridiculous regarding energy expenditure - over 600+ energy to complete one task, it’s definitely annoying. Then, I do NOT have FB, have no desire to join FB, yet I get constant notifications in the upper left corner to link my FB, also annoying. Next, because of the previous account not saving, I tried to link an email to this one and got an error message. Finally, the ads between maps, as others have pointed out, are excessive and unnecessary; not to mention, repetitive and the latest one about pimple popping etc. was absolutely disgusting. Love the game (5 stars), but the frustrations bring me to a generous 3 stars. Will give it a little more time then reassess.

Positively wonderful

I downloaded this game approximately 3 days ago and immediately fell in love with it. I realize that it’s new so it’s not perfected yet. Yes there are several glitches but I look at this as a sort of beta test until the devs get the kinks out. Albeit plenty of kinks however it doesn’t deter me from playing. I play on my iPad and I play until I have to recharge the tablet because I like it that much. I have yet to do that with any other game. I love the historical facts, the characters and the farming for crops to use for resources and to sell. Boy if I could jump into this game, I’d be loaded! I have earned over 50K thus far cos since I can’t make a purchase this month, I have been selling to the farm board a lot! So in conclusion, great job guys on the creation of a very interesting and fun game that I will be playing until you pry my tablet out of my cold, dead hands! BTW, I am a senior citizen and this game keeps you busy and excited to see what comes next.

Love this game, but….

It’s expensive to play if you want to play longer than your energy lasts & energy does NOT refill while you’re off the app. Prizes tend to be things you do not want/need. So loads of room for improvement. Especially frustrating is the way they have you “fight/kill” dangerous animals in your way… by spinning a wheel that usually uses up most of the energy you worked so hard to build up (you can’t play without energy… so it’s a super greedy move to get you to spend money). Also frequent trains and now a ship you need to fill asks for the very things that take forever to create in your factories. It’s very annoying and the things other ask-for-help with; so you’re either wasting them to send your train/boat, or giving them away. Note to developers: we need TWO more “Snack Shops”. You can’t make any of the frequently asked for, time-consuming things to make without items from the only-1 snack shop they give you. Some of the required snack shop items you need take an hour to 1.5 hours to make; so that’s frustrating. That all said, it’s a very enjoyable and fun game. Very fun. There’s plenty of room for improvement for team chat and the other ways I mentioned.

Listen to your players!

I used to love this game, now I’m liking it less and less. I don’t understand what relevance the fishing has to do with the game? It’s so frustrating that the original game of farming, making things to sell & following a story around the map is gone. Back to back events, no time to explore the new locations and when you do, you have to level up your Aesthetic value to be able to do so. And now fishing! 🙄 What happened to the original story line? If we wanted a fishing game we would have a separate app for that! These back to back events are ridiculous! I can barely make headway on an event or map location because it uses so much energy to clear the paths and making multiple items take so long! I enjoy a challenge, but it has gotten out of hand and expensive!! I started playing this game because it was different from all the others with a good story line and maps to explore and the letters in the mailbox and what about the possible love story? It’s nothing like it started out as, and that’s a real shame because it was such a good concept and the game play was fair as far as energy/ resources vs money spent. I don’t mind spending money on a good game, but come on! They’ve lost sight of what it was supposed to be and are only seeing $ now.

Started good, lost some traction, now I’m just mad

If I had wrote this review within the first few days of downloading the game, I would have given it five stars easy. But the reason I’m about to list or why I don’t write reviews right away. I feel like I had a good balance between my home screen, and then working on the tasks throughout the Maps. Then I hit Egypt. Which requires you to be at level 61 to even enter, I was at level 39. and since you can’t go backwards after you have completed all the tasks in a map and moved onto the next one, that meant I could not dig for resources, such as quartz, iron and clay, I had to use my energies to make them in the building on my Home Screen. Okay, slightly irritating but I’ll keep filling orders and try to level up as fast as possible. I used my precious precious diamonds to purchase extra queue slots to make the items I need to fill the orders to level up to be able to play the next map. (See how that sounds kinda annoying). But then, in the middle of playing the game!!!!!!, all my buildings go down by one queue slot! So on the buildings I maxed out the queue slots to have 5, now only have 4, with no option to even get a fifth, AGAIN. So, I paid to have those queue slots, to be able to move forward in the game and not lose interest, and then the game just took them away from me. Not cool. Don’t know how long I’ll keep playing after that one.

Love it!!!

I absolutely love this game it brings back to memories of the original FarmVille game before the change the game in #2 and other versions. Their are very few little things I would like to see change or be added but not anything big. One would be the energy lasting a bit longer or thing taking less energy to remove. Especially in the special events. I love that we get so much energy in them but I’m also wish it didn’t take so much to complete the event. It seems that all the energy they give us only gets us through the event by the time where done with it. I would like to see it that we get to keep that energy we earn at least in the end so it makes it worth playing The rent in the first place. But overall honestly best game I’ve played in a very long time. Oh the only other thing is I wish that they were higher up in levels for the development of the game or came out with more than one or two at a time. It seems like at the end of the game and now I only can get an update or two and then I have to wait to use again before a new update which I understand the game takes time to create so I’m not too upset about I just enjoy playing the game so I wish that we could get more levels per update. I would much rather wait a few days to a week or so and get multiple levels then get one or two levels every couple of days but that’s my personal opinion.

Cute game, but bait and switch

This is a cute little farm, build and craft game with events and a social element. I found it very similar to Klondike, but with friends with whom players can share gifts. The gifts are limited: daily you can send balloons to 5 players that provide random resources. There is also a tic tac toe like grid of random items that appear in a gift box on your home station where you select your item then gift the remaining prizes to 8 others. If you have been gifted a box, the gift box indicator appears on your neighbor’s profile. You can only receive 5 regardless of how many gifted to you. In the beginning resources are plentiful. I’ve been playing for about a month reaching level 39. I find I’m having trouble getting enough grass to meet the operational requirements. Early on, I could create 500 fire with the grass I had, now I’m lucky if I can create 50. You need grass as a manufacturing ingredient for most things. I’m not sure if I’m getting less when I dig or if the higher levels make the requirements increase. Resources for the pottery and glassworks are also hard to find, but can be made in exchange for energy. Today the event introduced is Slot Machine which features a new little community to build by gaining cash from the slots or by bombing and robbing your neighbors. I find that mean spirited. Since I’ve been feeling disenchanted with the game, I will be deleting it.
