Update — ALL IS WELL. 10/10 !

UPDATE: ALL IS WELL. ZERO ISSUES WITH ROOKIE CAM. A BELOVED APP FOR MANY YEARS NOW. Old review: Muted Audio for No Reason for 2 videos and no others I’ve written glowing reviews for this app before Video today. One of them was so....important. I’ll never use rookie cam or PICSPLAY for anything other than post. I really needed something w more features than the video/camera app of the iPad, and rookie cam totally delivered. having just spent hours pouring my heart and soul into my work (video under one hour); at the end, headache, & actually pleased with the product (the app, me & my own work—RARE!!!) i pressed play, no sound, tried everything i could, downloading other app and paid for them. I became fully deflated, and numb, and apathetic to ever doing this again (this was the first video of a big project) I recorded a testing 123 type of video after and it was muted. Then I recorded another testing video and IT SUDDENLY HAD SOUND. Then...after that I tinkered around & read and BOTH ROOKIE CAM AND PICSPLAY—I TURNED “shutter sound” ON AND OFF AND IN EACH COMBO OF ON/ OFF BETWEEN THE 2 APPS AND IT WAS NEVER MUTE AGAIN. (one place said it was the shutter sound toggle that caused the mute...but...it never did again...?) LITERALLY...FOR THE 1,000,000th TIME. IM ANGRY AT MYSELF FOR DOING/TRYING/BELIEVING/ENJOYING. if the app....god if it’s possible to get the sound...in any crazy kind of way...I will do just about whatever it takes

My go to photo app

I’m constantly wondering why I can never find a way to change the sizing of a photo to make it acceptable for a website you want to use it for on an iPad or iPhone. I have used any number of these apps and have yet to find a solution to this very common issue. When I used a computer I was able to do these changes quickly, with no fuss. Yet on an iPad I find I can’t do it at all. Why is that?I have several photography apps on my iPad. I use them all. But I use Rookie Cam more frequently than the others. If I use another photo app, I'll almost always start with Rookie Cam and then switch to another to get an effect that isn't available on it. But if I had to choose just one photo app, this would be the one. Thanks for keeping this app going through the constant flow of upgrades in iOS on the iPhone and iPad. I never worry if Rookie Cam is going to glitch or crash. It never does. It always works for me and has the filters that I love.

So far so good

I recently downloaded this app on to an iPhone XR. I’m used to zither Samsung Galaxy so I’m used to absolutely amazing picture quality. Sorry, iPhone just can’t compete. But I needed to find a reasonably easy editing app to use so I could try to fix the pictures I took with the iPhone. So far Rookie Cam seems to be able to handle the job. Fairly user friendly and though it too has the best features under the old “upgrade to our premium version and you can access everything “ bait and switch, what is offered with the free version isn’t too bad. They do make it fairly easy and understandable to utilize the functions that are available for free. And it does appear to work well enough for me to publish some of the pictures I have taken. Should anything change, I will update however for now, good job.

This is pretty much the best camera and photo app ever.

I seriously wish they would work together with Apple to improve the iphone camera. I mean, come on Apple..... the iphone camera is seriously lacking compared to this amazing app. As for my other 2 wishes..... (3 wishes seems pretty customary 😜)..... I wish they would change the different lighting options (daylight, fluorescent, white balance, etc.) back to the way it used to be, so you didn’t have to do so much clicking to switch between options. I also wish this app would support Live Photo, because I have kids, and they will never stand flipping still for a picture. 😑 So Live Photo really helps me to capture the in between motion moments. 😁My one complaint is that all the filters are so insanely amazing that I can never choose which one to use. But other than that, I love it! I’m so so sooooooo glad I found this app! I wish everybody could know about it, and the amazing things it can do with your pictures. *Cough* Apple *Cough*

What the hell?!

Okay, I’ve been using Rookie cam and MOLDIV since 2014, and for years I relied on them most of the time, and to be honest they’re two of the most awesome photo editing apps u can find here... I still use both of them, and what makes them so unique is that whenever I find one of the features locked and u must pay to use, I find it in the other app free to use and vice versa, they both complete each other...Until today when I got surprised that the “ grain effect 6” is now a paid feature, for years I’ve been using this particular effect , and now i must pay to use the same effect?That’s a joke and most of the filters and effects are now locked, and they were free for years , trust me I know that money is important and all, but stop screwing with us and for once make an update where I and most of the costumers don’t regret downloading it😂

This app is amazing!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

This app is so awesome!! I started using it thinking it would be like all other sucky apps, but no! I got to add text, use the packs, and so much other cool stuff!!! I love this app and I literally just bought it!!! Though I think that the packs shouldn't go to like everything here, this app is the best photo editing app out there!!! For a suggestion, I think that the packs for stickers, textures and all that stuff should be free or little money, because whenever I try to use something it tells me I need to purchase the packs. That's my only flaw with this app. THIS APP IS THE BEST!!!!!!!!??

Having a challenge

No tutorial - can’t figure out how to reset the filters. Not intuitive for me. A bit later - Getting better - more to learn- enjoying the app. Still can’t find the tools easily. I like the app I still have a challenge with getting the buttons that I need to show up and I’m learning. Not as intuitive for changing the settings - would like to see the buttons when you switch filters. I really do enjoy it in like the different options I just wish it was a little bit easier to work when you’re looking at the bottom of the page changing your filters to make sure it works Getting more familiar! Update - still working with it to see what filters work best for capturing accurate lip color etc. I enjoy using it -Doing great! Enjoying all the different filters…

the sort of app you write a good review for, y'know?

I've been using Rookie Cam for at least six years now. It's always been perfect. I don't open the app as often these days, but it's always my reliable go-to. It seems like the layout is always changing and I have to find my way around again.. but that's always pretty simple. I haven't been forced to subscribe for full features. I chose to pay for the upgrades I used, and I respect that business model. Of course a developer deserves to be paid for their work and time. But I don't support devs that squeeze $100/year out of a $20 product.

One of my favs

Simple, easy, well laid out options that are fun and deliver amazing results! Some similar apps can have less options a few may seemingly have more, but this one has more of the go to options I find are most important to me. Some other apps options can be unclear on what it’s used for or how to implement the option. It’s frustrating when I cannot figure out what to do to make it work, and and what exactly it would do... No problems of that nature on this app! I have had people ask me if some of my photos had been professionally done, I answer with a smile, no, it’s me and rookie cam! I have been asked to edit pictures for people, and they can’t believe the results. I tell them to get rookie cam after they see how easy it is to make their pics look “professional” with Rookie Cam! Really can’t love this app enough!
