Incredibly Effective, Love it!

As an ADHDer, it can be very hard to find an app that consistently keeps you on track. After trying I don't know how many productive planner apps, this is the first one that's worked for me for more than a few weeks. I love the simple design, the customization tools, and the little confetti when you finish all of your tasks... the little details such as that can make all the difference for picky people Planny can be a simple to-do list or can tailor to your needs through its many different functions. Reason I'm knocking off a star is that a good amount of the functions come with a premium, which I find just a few bucks out of my price range. But, if you're not a person like me (who generally switched planners every few weeks), the price isn't bad as long as you know you're going to stick to it. I run Planny on my Macbook and I love how I can simply click the app and it opens to all of my tasks in the same place, and that I can easily move those tasks around. Glad I came across the app.

Good…Hopefully stays that way

Planny 6.9 demonstrates lots of thought in its features and attention in its design. In many ways, it is the update to Planny 3 that I’d hoped for. I loved Planny 3. I subscribed to it and used it every single day. Then Planny 4 arrived with an design overhaul that made planning your day or seeing your todos less convenient and much harder. While I was disappointed, I appreciated the dev’s efforts and have revisited the app from time to time. I took the plunge on downloading the latest version and was pleasantly surprised. I am tempted to subscribe, but I am waiting to see what happens with Planny 7. Just to be safe.

I see potential

I'm rating it one stars at the moment because it is buggy on the mac and iphone. everytime I try to add a task to a day that is not the current day, it adds it then instantly puts me back on the current day. (to make it clear) It put's the task on the day you want it but then it moves your UI back to the current day.I find that annoying because I want to add a subtask to the that task, so I have to go back to the day I added the task click add subtask. Then when I add the subtask to the task it does the same thing if it is not on the current day. You can't name the subtask if its is not on the current day, it will leave the name blank. Can't even edit the blank name. The only time you can add the name to the subtask is if you add a subtask to a task that is in the current day.To Sum it up: Things that need to be fix: dont automatically go back to current day after I add a task or a sub task. When it needs to add the name of the subtask to the name I put it onI also tried it on the iphone I got similar results too,Also please add edit feature on the subtask, I could have sworn I edit a subtask once already but I had no success on doing it again (unless this was a bug)I hope these things get address soon, because the app looks like it would be a nice app.I'm normally not a person who writes reviews but I will be more then happy to change my review once these problems get fix.

Beautiful, Unique, Clever, but needs features/optimization

I am using Planny on a 2019 Macbook Pro i7 32gb ddr4. I should have no issues running this program but it has regular micro-stutters and has even crashed a couple of times. I tried Planny a year ago and stopped using it or this same reason. Its just not as smooth as it should be, especially on a fast machine.- The UI is beautiful and simple. But it could use the ability to rearrange elements to suit the user.- The stats tracking is unique and offers some cool insights. But sometimes it gets in the way of usability. - The way Planny integrates tasks is both useful and lovely. The calendar view has a couple of problems. 1) It should be larger, the main focus of the page. Instead it is tucked into the side bar and small. 2) You should have events or event dots appear on the different days of the month. That way you know you have some activities coming up. Google and Apple Calendars do this. Another issue is that task sub-sections should appear in the left lists column. This is the way basically all To Do list apps, Notes apps, File management, etc work. They work this way because it is one less place to look to immediately find information you need. I sincerely wish the developers well because I think they have created a wonderful experience. But it lacks practical usability and speed that most working professionals, including myself require of their calendars/task managers.

Really awesome app but could improve

For now, when I add a task to a workflow, it requires the task to have a duration. However, if I select it, there will be an option under the three dots menu that allows me to add it to the workflow, which was not able to do before. By doing that, the task will have a "0:00" duration in the workflow. I am not sure if this is on purpose, but I see this isn't very clear. If it is a problem, I think my solution will be to combine the "workflow" feature with the "focus" feature, which is only available in tasks with duration too. They are very similar in terms of functionality and time management. Also, in addition to "focus," I think there should be a "time tracking" feature, which is almost the same as if I added a "0:00" duration task into a workflow and started the timing. The "+00:00:00" can show just as a standard timer, making this app a self-report time tracker. This feature is also in a lot of productivity tools nowadays.

Great App but Some Features Are Missing

I believe this to be a great organization app with its simple design and seamless flows between screens. But I believe there are a few things that are missing. 1. I think the app should have natural language to be able to just type and the task can then add the date and time. This could also auto add the task to the calendar for view. 2. I think that in the list section. For example when making a list like groceries. You should be able add different things without having to add a fruit then hit return on the keypad to have to hit the add button again to add another item to the list. I believe when hitting return it should add the item that has already been typed into that field to add to the list and instantly you can add the next item to that list. This would make the process a lot more seamless as well as add more utility to the list section when adding items. Outside of that this app is very light and operates smoothly. Can’t wait to see what feature the dev have planned for this yr. I’m looking forward to signing up for the lifetime family plan to have my family work with a simple and effect app that just works.

It’s ok on sale

I bit the bullet when the subscription (enough with the subs) finally went on sale (and it even went further on sale which is a bit annoying. Too many prices)It’s cute. It’s nice to have access to the app on all platform but I think it’s more focused on the aesthetic than it is on functionality. I feel like I lose and/miss things that I need to get done. It just really doesn’t jive with my needs. I also don’t even understand the waste in developing an achievement system. I have this for about a year so I’ll redownload it later on to see if it’s improved but for now I’m going back to 2Do.

Are you a single working mom? Get this app!

Before using Planny 5, I was the Henry VIII of planning apps...they never met all my needs as a busy single mom to two girls and three pets who works remotely as a consultant for an international company in six time zones while trying to fix-up a house. This app does it all - family, work, home and personal calendars, with task lists integrated so they actually happen and support for those aspirational routines (drinking water as I type this). PLUS analytics so you can acutally see the impact of binge watching Brigerton on your productivity (and decide if it is or is not worth it...discuss...). This is analytics done right. THANK YOU Planny developers!

Doubtful at first, but a very glad user now!

I hve gone through a number of GTD apps, starting with Omniplan, Taskheat, Bear, Agenda, Clear, Things...Basically the ones I used the most were Omnifocus, then Things 3, and now Planny. Recognizing that I needed to have an excellent organizer for my AADD brain, and yet frustrated by too complex or many layered app, I'd give up using one and go on to the next...thus, I have arrived at Planny, and even though I won't guarantee that the same won't happen, I find myself getting very comfortable the more I use it. The format and UI seem to fit how my brain works and I believe I'll be using this app for a while longer. Worth the 5 stars for me!!

Needs a few tweaks but great!

I've been looking for an app that will allow me to switch over from Todoist. This almost hits the marks. The one thing that really keeps me from making the big switch is being able to type in the day and time and hitting enter and it automatically add it to the specific day and time stamped as well as type out the list or tag and it automatically tag that task. But its a great looking app!I would like to be able to choose my calendar view sorted by 1 or 2 month view / week view / day view. On the Mac, the app seems a little sluggish. It hasnt crashed but it takes some time to switch between sections. Also, the attachment section of your task, i'm unable to type out my notes as i am with the ios app. Also, when you click your photo attachments, you can't enlarge them when you're looking at them. You've got a good app here in production but I would really love to see all these changes because im itching to switch over completely from Todoist! Keep up the good work.
