I am an early Pi user, and they spam you to invite other people to your “security circle.” Then they request an official government ID for you to claim your Pi then migrate to their closed mainnet. However, all of those people you invited must also give Pi their official government ID for YOU to claim YOUR own Pi. I got muted in the chat for questioning the lack of transparency. Worse, they won’t let me delete my account because I have “migrated Pi.” They gave me a link to contact support, which was an automated message redirecting me to delete my account from the app, which I am unable to do. I replied back and am currently waiting on a response. This is clearly some sort of data mining botnet. I am reporting it to the FTC.
Mining Pi is easy but requires you to open the app and click a button once per day. It doesn’t take any energy from your phone and while Pi may not be worth much in the future, the decision on what it’s worth is in the hands of everyone once it is available to be traded. Right now, the developers are building up the popularity and verifying identities with KYC “Know Your Customer.” You can still mine even without providing your personal information. For me, I think there is a small possibility of it being worth something, which is worth the risk of resources I’m putting towards it (space on my phone and a minute per day to begin mining). You will need a sponsor to sign up to mine Pi, such as “chemohill.”

I’ve been involved with Pi from fairly close to the beginning, but I fell off for a year or 2 because I wasn’t to invested. I’ve come back to and love seeing the amount of growth, but I’m having issues with the wallet. It won’t let me create one. Every time I try it says “an unexpected error occurred please try again later” and no matter how long I wait or how many times I restart the app I get the same result. I’ve submitted a request for help just a couple minutes ago, and received an email saying they take certain requests as priorities and I’m not sure if this is one that counts. I’m hoping to receive feedback soon, because I’m missing out on possible bonuses to my mining without having this wallet.
To anyone who may be slightly confused remember this app is just a testing version so it won’t reflect your real balance until late this year or sometime next year. The pi you get here today is just for testing purposes and won’t be used later on.
I was introduced to this by a friend. And it’s the same mindset I would say about 95% of this community has. “Click the button for some possible cash in the end.” But the more I tried to research this company the less and less I found. What’s up with not being transparent? If you really think about it “developed by Stanford grads” is the only thing that made it easy for me to download it. But in reality- there’s no fact to anything or even that statement. Supposedly they have 70+ employees claiming to have crypto background. Like what? Anyways. Prior to downloading - on the app itself it literally tells you it’s collecting your personal data, contact info, browser history, etc. Me personally- I’m done. To each their own but please be mindful of these people selling you a pipedream- just to sell you and your personal data to someone else for the cash.
I been participating since the beginning because I was told by a friend to get in because it was a ground floor opportunity for participation, by just clicking on a button daily and that the money from doing it would grow as a community so collectively we could profit when it hits the market. I don’t really understand it tho , how to transfer? The KYC or which platform or how to get a wallet? If someone can tell me if there is mote or something I need to do please reach out to me. Thank you
I know this doesn’t matter a lot in the development of pi but please I still believe it’s worth it. Please rework the main load screen of the pi browser app. A lot of people I’ve invited to the app see the gui and think it a scam simply because it look cheap. So please a rework will be prefect. Similar to the pi wallet GUI. By the way I’m a believer in the project. All my support
This is quiet cool. The rate of mining is fair enough but there should be increase in it’s speed (quite fast, at least much faster than crypto browser) but the value of Pi should be in an increasing manner as it is that it has low value at this point in time, Pi developers has much work to do to make sure Pi becomes standard and more efficient, Then please work on how we can cash out our Pi. Thank you. If there is any other comment I will let you know.
Been doing this for awhile, since it first started. If it’s worth money I don’t care it’s a long term investment. Recently though it will literally spam my phone with notifications until I start mining again. It’s not like it will wait a few minutes either, it was literally 30 seconds of spamming until I opened the app. My job does not allow me to always be on my phone, so to have it constantly going off min my pocket is annoying as heck. I could set a timer or something for it but what’s the point if it’s supposed to notify me
