Best packing list ever

This app is extremely helpful. It customizes your packing lists for the weather at your destination (and can update this). It also customizes it for your planned activities and duration of stay. It is a great way to make sure that you have what you need and don’t forget anything. it is by far the best list of this sort that I have encountered. The only small improvement I might suggest is for long trips on which you will be washing every few days, it would be helpful if you could specify the number of days between each washing so that the app knew what to recommend for packing. Nevertheless, it does a great job.

This app used to be a lifesaver but recent updates have made it frustrating to use

I really like this app and use it every time I go out of town. However, the most recent version of the app has me wanting to throw my phone at a wall. The two biggest issues are that when I have my list set to “only show unpacked items” it does not update as I check things off nor does it move checked items to the bottom so I constantly have to check and uncheck it. The second issue is that half the time I check an item off it opens the item to be edited which is beyond frustrating. Waiting to see if these issues get resolved soon but otherwise will probably go back to using the native notes app because I get too frustrated with this one.

Makes packing quicker

5/3/21 Edit: I’m still using Packr and I’m still happy, however there’s one thing Packr does that I wish would change - Packr deletes old lists, so users have to redo any lists for trips that you go the same place and same time of year... and there’s no archive for those old trips. It’s a minor point, but it’s happened a couple times... I hate repeating work I’ve already done. Original post: always have to take the time to make a list of what my minimum needs are for the weekend, take the chance I will omit something from my list and then I misplace the paper list. That won’t happen with Packr. It’s on my phone and accessible. I skip through what I don’t need, get what I need - and I’m on my way, confident and free of worry I have forgotten something. knowing. This app is amazing!

By the way I write this review I’m going to seem like a bit but, but I can assure you I am not, I just love this app so much!!There are in app purchases (as most apps have) however, unlike other apps, these purchase choices don’t get in the way. You don’t NEED them to use the app. I’m going on a trip soon and this is the first time i’ve used this app to plan my packing. Now, after using it for just one trip, I know i’ll be using it for every trip from now on. It suggests things that you may need to bring on your trip. This is very helpful because I usually forget so much stuff or I don’t know what to bring. They also look at the weather for what days your going and help pick clothes accordingly.

Great resource

I love this app for packing lists. I have used TripIt for a couple years for keeping track of travel info. This works well with that to help me prep and pack for those trips. I’m he suggested lists consider weather and what I will be doing (after I make selections) to make the list very practical. I can also add my own notes and modify the list as I see fit. I also love the ability to share a list. I’m his has been helpful for my husband and me as we can just check that app and make updates (instead of assuming the other grabbed it or grabbing double.) The only addition that would have been helpful for this trip is a section for pets. I could be similar to the section for babies, but including things like food, leash, crate, meds, etc. would be super helpful for those of us who have pets but don’t always travel with them.

Initial Set-up is a Big Time Saver

After trying several trip and packing apps and being disappointed, I didn’t have high expectations for Packr. I downloaded it a week before a trip and the ready-made lists and intuitive suggestions that were easily editable made packing for my trip a breeze. I easily made a few edits to the standard lists and packing for my next trip was even easier. Using this app was the first time I packed perfectly for a trip - not too much, nothing missed, and used every single item I packed!

Great App, but Glitchy

This is a great app for organizing for trips. I’m able to break down my packing lists into individual check off lists like camping, air travel, sundries etc…The only problem I’ve encountered is that the items on my lists keep rearranging on their own. So if I, for example, organize clothes by type (dress shirts, running shirts, polos, then jeans, slacks, shorts, etc…) this app will, at random, mix up my list to where shirts are mixed within longs socks and dress pants and shoes—just scattered all over the place. It’s not only frustrating, but counterproductive as well. *Note—I’ve reached out to them about this problem. Hopefully it’s fixed soon because I do, overall, like and want to keep this app.

Has some glitches

I really like this, but when i go to make new categories and such, sometimes it can be a bit glitchy. More specifically when i go to create a category, it will add to my list, then if I decide to delete it I go back and the list is still there... i try to go into reselecting the categories and it wont be there anymore but i wont be able to delete it from my list anymore. It just gets stuck there. Im having to just delete the whole trip and start over whenever that happens because of it. I don't mind making my own lists and categories... in fact i prefer it but the process can be long and detailed and as I go along eventually the app just gets glitchy as i go back and forth so much. Also i wish there were more icons for the categories. I couldnt really find a good icon for a makeup or beauty category... seems pretty limited.

Best app for traveling

Easy to Use & Best App to keep up with the stuff I am packing. I like all the details you can add to make it even more easier to keep up with what you need or don’t need. I have always been the person who packs so much stuff that it takes away so much time from my vacation. We would always be late getting to our destination bc we have to go back through my stuff packed & taken things out of my bags so it would fit in our vehicle which is a SUV. I always want to make sure I have everything I need & my family needs for any & every situation or event that may come up. Using this app has kept me from overpacking!! I love it!

My favorite packing list

I have used Packr on iPhone and iPad for years. I did not realize there was a Mac app until recently so I downloaded it.I have tried different packing list apps and packing list methods over the years including a spreadsheet, Notes, a Word document, and other packing list apps. I even tried Macsparky's Reminders packing list idea. I always come back to Packr. Why have I tried other apps if I like Packr? Because I like to try new apps! But I will not stray again. Packr just works for me. I ike that I can make different lists for different needs for different trips and reuse them over and over. Thank you for a great app!
