Looked Promising but..

Looked like a great app. I personally hate subscriptions. There’s no way I can justify 40 a year or a one time purchase for $150 for what seems to be features that other apps include for free and for stuff that is just a matter of convenience. The real problem no one is addressing is Apple taking 30%. If Apple dropped that to 10-15%. Developers wouldn’t charge as much and I might actually subscribe to some of these apps. Maybe one day

Almost Perfect!!!

I am a huge planner, and I love being organized. Trips he allows you to not only plan out your travel, but keep all of your information in one place. The only thing needed to make this five stars for me is the addition of an option to add receipts and photo albums. I would love to be able to use this as a travel journal along with a travel planner and go back and look at my trips after I’ve taken them. I feel like it would be pretty easy to add that in as another option.

How do I delete a file from an activity

Thank you for what you’ve got so far—it’s a really great start! How do I delete a file from an activity without deleting the entire activity and having to start all over? I’ve got a car trip, and have a file attached that is a screenshot of a route between the two points. I have decided to go a different way, and have inserted the screenshot of route 2, but can’t figure out how to delete route 1. I don’t want to start all over because I also have fairly long notes, and three other screenshots of sights along the way. Can it be done, and if not, please add that capability in an upcoming update. Also, on the car routes, would it be possible to add intermediary stops between the endpoints? Then I wouldn’t need the Google Maps screenshots.Update: Thank you for your quick response, letting me know that files can be individually deleted by using a long hold on the file name. I’m happy! Still want intermediary stops on car routes. I’m glad they’re on your radar.

Compelling but needs work

I was evaluating this app as a replacement for TripIt. It’s a good travel app overall but is currently missing too much functionality for me to keep using:- Many details can’t be edited after creation without deleting the activity and recreating it from scratch.- No notifications or flight updates. It sometimes seems to update times if a flight is delayed, and other times not. In all cases it doesn’t notify you or indicate in any way that the flight time has changed.- No way to stay on the itinerary View. Even switching away from the app will close it.- No API for third-parties like Flighty to import trip info.- Entering flight details is clumsy. You have to format them just right and then the lookup is very slow and sometimes just fails. If a flight’s details can’t be found by the app, you are not able to add it at all. You can’t for instance just enter the flight name, number and times manually.- No way to have the app open into the current trip by default. It always opens to the list showing all current and future trips.Overall it’s promising and I might revisit in a year or so, but back to TripIt for now.

Easy, attractive, and fairly comprehensive.

I’ve very much enjoyed using Tripsy for an upcoming road trip—the ability to organize not only flights and hotels and the usual stuff, it’s a great way to organize points of interest, potential bars and restaurants, and other things to “keep an eye out for” on the trip.My one wish is that it offered a “reminder” option. For example, if I’m booking a cruise a year out, adding my flights a month later, I’d also love to be able to put in a reminder—say, 30 days out—to check in for the cruise, to schedule ground transportation, and other stuff that will need to happen—but that can’t really happen far out.

Nice looking, but...

Directions don’t work (it literally just shows you a picture of a map instead of starting turn by turn directions). You can’t use google maps for directions. You can’t get notifications for different items on your agenda. Images for itinerary wallpaper take ages to load. It just doesn’t fit my needs. Seems like more attention was paid to interface design than robust functionality. When you’re traveling in a big city what do you want out of a travel app? I for one don’t want to be opening the app every hour. It would be nice if the app notified me about upcoming itinerary items and just surfaced them on my lock screen at a set time, or when I was near the location.

Great tool

This is the best trip planner I’ve found so far. The email to Tripsy feature makes starting a trip itinerary so quick and painless, and the map integrations are great. I live that there is a back app and a phone app. Mac app is perfect for planning from my desk, but then the phone app is perfect once you leave the on the trip. Two features I think are missing that would really complete this app: a budgeting feature. The ability to set a budget for a trip and then to add costs to activities, and the ability to add a checklist for things like packing lists, and to set up template checklists that can be used over and over. Overall I love this app.

So much potential!

I love the concept of having a digital planner that includes all the details of the trip. You’re able to add documents, edit the details of each event, import reservations, and everything you’d want! But the execution is terrible. The app has crashed on me a couple of times. Sometimes the keyboard will disappear in the middle of typing something out. The app gets slow and laggy at some points. And the import reservations feature doesn’t work more than half the time so I end up manually entering the details. Also, the user interface could be a lot more organized. I don’t like how I’m the itinerary, it only shows the start time of each event. I want to see a little more detail of each event when I click the itinerary. Love love the concept, the ability to add details, and the ability to personalize my itinerary - but the execution is poor!

Great UI, poor customer service, limited free version

I downloaded this app to replace an aging app I’ve used for years. I contacted customer service (twice) to see if they offered a feature to import my old trips. I heard no response both times, but I signed up for pro anyways to give it a try. I like it, but the lacking customer service and limited free version basically giving you hardly anything without pro is a challenge to overcome. I can pay $5 a month for something I may use a few times a year and keep having that commitment, or, I can pick something that’s pretty well done for free, and possibly pay a-la-crate for extras. Having all my old trips stuck in an app that I cannot easily export the data from, and having to start from scratch with a paywall here just to break free, gives me an uneasy feeling. If the developer were more responsive and were to consider taking my request into consideration, i might have a better feeling that the commitment is there. Without that though, it’s hard to want to commit to a monthly or yearly subscription. I get that people and companies want to make money, but that money needs to be earned, and so far I’m still waiting. I hope it happens, I like this app and would be willing to commit if it truly were and all-inclusive data store for everything I want and had in the past. Thanks for your commitment, and i’ll keep an eye on this.

Great concept!

My wife and I were planning our anniversary trip to NYC and we were looking to cram as much sightseeing in 3 days as possible. I came across this app accidentally and the layout was easy to use and helped us tremendously in keeping track of our daily activities. You can view the entire trip or select specific categories (i.e. restaurant, lodging, bar and party) so you don’t can pull up exactly what you need to look at. You even have a map view that shows pins of everything listed. Overall very impressive concept!
