Not great, not awful

As a driver, this app is neutral. It's potential is better than it works. I must switch between 3-4 apps just to manage my time and workflow. This is onerous for one who should be concentrating on the surroundings.I don't like that your active load has to refresh every time I switch between this and other apps, necessitating attention and screen clicks. Another pain is that there is no simple way to release a load if it is no longer my responsibility to service. That has to be done with inconvenient phone calls.

Carrier review

As a carrier I am providing overall review of the app for multiple trucks we use this with. Very unreliable. Works flawlessly maybe 1 in every 4 times we set it up to track. Those aren’t good numbers. Often we are having drivers reset their phones and the app or reinstall the app all together. It sometimes will not integrate with Our customers system to provide them updates. Their customer service is very poor and either doesn’t respond to an issue or takes days to respond and then provides no real solution or fix. They seem to only be interested in charging carriers a monthly service fee for a service that is 25% reliable at best. Frankly I’m surprised they are still in business.

Invasion of privacy

I don’t mind the tracking of shipments but as soon as you book a load they already already start tracking you without any acknowledgment from you that you confirmed the tracking. It should be tracking when you arrive at loading point not even before loading. Tracking should only be tracked while you are loaded only, not even before or after the load. I have even noticed even with the application closed it automatically starts up when they initialize the load. Like I said this is an invasion of privacy.

Truck driver

Hello there,I've been using this app for years, and macropoint used to be much better in the past! I don't know what is happening, is it up to them or my phone (?) but i doubt it's my fault it's simple app. Anyway brokers send me load for tracking i am not receiving it for days, then after couple of days I open the app for new load, and always i can find previous which was never there when i tried to open and find it. Also, whenever i click to update arrival or departure or deliver it never worked... so bad, and yet we all still using this app, hope you guys gonna see your issues and fix them.Cheers

Tracking

Really tracking apps are useless driver downloads the app what’s being tracked is the drivers location not the load actually, if driver goes to bathroom he’s not with the truck, if driver parks the truck and goes to visit family and truck is at truck stop what is the app tracking only driver location not the trailer we’re the load is actually located hopefully with the power unit, also brokers still call driver irritating them because the app lags so brokers will call still asking drivers location ask me how I know...

For rookies and pawns

It’s great if you’re a rookie and need babysit by big companies. It’s great if you are not a real trucker and can’t find your way or be trusted to go from point A to B. It’s great if you think it’s okay to not have any privacy, and believe it’s perfectly fine to have companies take advantage of your personal cellphone and use it for business without paying for your data usage. It’s great if you think this is what truckings all about and the way the world should be…with no freedom. Most of us who have been at it for decades and old school, got into this profession because we didn’t need babysit or a boss and others breathing down our necks. We took pride in getting the job done without anyone’s help or supervision. Companies and apps like this, have ZERO RESPECT for drivers and what we are about!!!!!

Truck Driver

When we off loaded in Lima, Ohio, the app only gave me a choice of loaded to pick from. I wanted to show I was empty at the consignee. That’s one glitch that should be fixed. Plus, it would help if we could upload the signed bill of lading on the app so everyone in the circle could see the signed form. Schwarz Team, Truck 300

Works great for me.

Once it is downloaded a broker need only shoot me a text. The text integrates with MacroPoint immediately allowing them to track me at all times. When I arrive and empty or load a trailer I just push a button. All liability is on the driver. State and federal laws against texting and driving apply. Even if I do not have the app MacroPoint can still track my phone via cell towers.

Doesn’t work most of the time!!!

After you guys updated it and changed it, it no longer works like it used to. Now I get multiple text messages saying I have to share my location even after I’ve already done that! On one load I received 11 text messages over the course of two days saying I needed to share my location even though it showed I was all set! One driver was even docked pay from the broker because he didn’t share his location even though he did and the app said he was all set! Also why is it draining my battery so fast!!? Get it together people!!! Fix your damned app!

Privacy concerns

Going to be honest with you here. The app works as advertised but I seriously do not like having to download this app onto my personal device in order to complete a load. Every time I have a load that requires me to use the app I only download it when I am actively delivering the load and immediately delete the app afterwards. I feel it is incredibly invasive to have this app on my PERSONAL device. What information does the app have privileges to? My phone contains private data that the app is not clear on whether or not it has access to (financial records, personal pictures/videos, contacts, call/text records, etc.) There should be an opt out option available but apparently I’ll be fined if I don’t download this invasive application on my phone. I am a company driver, my job does not pay my cell phone bill. This is not a “work” phone device. I’m honestly questioning the legality of such a system.
