Read the other reviews

A number of other people have written great reviews, and all I would be doing is repeating every good thing that has been said about this game. I’m just adding my voice here to support the developer, as I see that many of these top reviews are ancient — years old! No idea how long this game has been out there—and I play a lot of games in this exact Genra—but I just discovered it, and I’m so happy I did. I started with Legacy 1, thinking it was a different game with the exact same series name! That was a freebie, and I was really impressed how good it was, and with NO ads… I couldn’t understand why anyone would give away such a well-done game, even though I thought it was lacking in some features, and suggested them. But I liked it enough to buy this one, and was blown away at how much better it was than the free one (which, as I said, I REALLY LIKED). Just finished this one, and I’m on to the next with great anticipation.

Holy wow!

The first Legacy game was fun and had good puzzles, but the implementation was, to be polite, a bit wonky- still, a good first effort and certainly worth playing. This second installment, however, is nothing short of an exponential leap forward in every respect. I’ve never seen such an extraordinary learning curve as this from one game to the next from any other dev. As a personal note, David, you are to be congratulated for “upping your game” to such a high level so quickly. A few of the mechanics (such as the camera swooshing sound😁) are obviously influenced by the Room series, but this game stands entirely on its own as a benchmark adventure to which other puzzlers should try to measure up. The three-dimensionality was immersive; the panning was smooth; navigation felt real; puzzles were interestingly fun, challenging, and diverse; objects were cleverly used; and the story/atmosphere was engaging. The only things I would have changed would have been, perhaps, different music and the ability to zoom back out of an area, but that’s really just kinda nitpicking. As far as I’m concerned, this is absolutely one of the best games of its kind that I’ve played (and I’ve played quite a few). I am truly looking forward to the third one... heck, I might even buy it now😄. Please keep making more great games, David.

Absorbing

This game just keeps on giving. I play a little bit every night before bed and it has lasted a month at least. Interesting and challenging to just the right degree. Some puzzles are similar to each other, but fun to play (he does great stuff with light beams) but most are so different from each other that every room has lots of novel challenges. Extremely creative, especially enjoy that one function that eventually appears as an icon in the lower right hand corner with the arrow (hey I’m not putting any spoilers in here). That one i have used several times just for fun! Have already bought 3 in advance that I won’t miss a day. Don’t want it to end! Might be interesting if you had the option to turn off the hints, for that extra level of “now what?” That makes such games so intriguing. I love that this game has no time-pressure challenges…. Zero puzzles where you have to do something within a a certain amount of time or restart (or even worse, die or sustain injuries, which even in a video game is insanely stressful). I like the music a lot too…..mysterious but not creepy, and not too repetitive. Kudos on all aspects. Thank you for this wonderful game. More please.

Great fun, but…

If you like this sort of game, you will not be disappointed. Lots or rooms. In fact lots and lots of rooms. The graphics are surprisingly well created, and movement is not at all clunky. The authors’ navigation is a great deal to help you maintain your sanity. None of the puzzles are frustratingly difficult, but that a given object in one room is a key to a puzzle in one of the many preceding rooms can become frustrating as after a while I, at least, was having trouble remembering what was where. There’s an evil presence that is part of the backstory, but you may find that your greatest adversary will be the limits of your own patience. Don’t get me wrong, I love games of this sort, and this is definitely one of the better ones. I would recommend it, but consider yourself warned.

Great challenging puzzles and good game play

I bought this after playing the first free installment and it should really be priced a lot higher because of how much gameplay it has in it. This game has no hint system besides letting you know if you’ve finished a room, which means there’s going to be times where you may look at an object you’ve found and wonder where you can use it. I’ll admit to having a walkthrough handy to help when I’ve gotten stuck and then was able to move forward through 5-6 more puzzles before I got stuck. I had a few odd glitches when resuming the game, but it’s good to know puzzles will reset if you leave and return to a room, too. There’s nothing you can do to “mess up” and not be able to solve something. There’s always a reset.

Legacy The Ancient Curse

I enjoyed this game and thought it was a huge improvement over The Lost Pyramid which I purchased but abandoned because it had no rhyme or reason to it. I am a huge fan of The Room Series and House of Da Vinci so was looking for something in that same vein when I happened upon this game. There were many enjoyable thought provoking puzzles to solve, which are great fun and challenging. The graphics and visual effects were superb. Some of the execution methods were a little flat but for the most part a great job in creating the game. I must say many of the puzzles solutions were not intuitive or logical or followed pattern so there was basically nothing to work from bluebrain games always guide you with a common theme throughout the game so you know, sort of, how a puzzle will be solved. I still don’t understand the domino tile puzzle solution . Those numbers were totally unrelated. At the end of the game we were left with the Eye of Ka in the inventory bag (?). We shouldn’t have been able to end the game with any remaining inventory pieces. The ending didn’t tie up all lose ends of the game. That should always be the objective .

Finished

The whole game was great! Better by far than the first. I felt that there were moves played in parts of both games that weren’t obvious to me. The only way I knew what to so was to watch the walkthrough. Even after watching them I still couldn’t figure out how I should have known. Like throwing the rock off the trebuchet to the next level down (1st game). Or the symbols in the room that has the two wheels on wall (this game), and it turns upside-down, with the drop down stairs. I couldn’t figure the rationale for how to know what symbols to select on the wheel. At the end when the box is created by concentrating 3 blue beams? The game I couldn’t get till I watched the first part of the cheat. I would have cheated less if you had helpful clues for what to do or something suggesting how to get started or what to next..Looking forward to your next game

This is GREAT!

Awesome challenging puzzle game with nice graphics & sound! It’s somewhat comparable to The Room series, albeit not quite as graphically intricate, but what this game has going for it is the fact that it’s very tricky! And many of these puzzles can not be solved right away. You have to move on and return when you’ve found an item that might help you with a problem 6 rooms ago. There are very few hints (or none at all), which I like a lot. This is definitely not a game you’ll finish in one sitting. Maybe not even over the weekend. In fact, I’m not sure how long it would take to complete this game, as I’m still working on it. My only negative feedback is merely a complaint about how dark everything is. A little more light or contrast would make a world of difference. I’m so glad I found this treasure of a game!

Could you just give a few hints every now and then?

I suppose I am lacking the necessary memory skills that the game description invokes to really enjoy the game fully at this stage of my life. The first chapter in this series I managed to navigate fairly successfully (both the original and the wonderful re-master) but this one turned into quite a slog. It's certainly not one you can approach casually like many other escape/adventure titles.I give Mr. Adrian credit; he certainly has a unique gift for puzzle design involving fantastic gadgets and machinery. But a few textual cues here and there would do a lot to alleviate some furious screen tapping. The map and fast travel do provide assistance in hopping back and forth but the map layout doesn't always correspond exactly to the actual rooms and exits therein. The narrative is significantly expanded upon from the first game including the introduction of some dialog choices. I'm curious to see what happens in the 3rd chapter but probably have to wait until I'm good and ready...

Love the evolution

I have played many of these kinds of games and I very much enjoyed this one however. So I have played each game. The one thing that each was lost for me was the context clues in the game themselves. With the understanding that this isn’t the first person through the pyramid I would imagine there would be more in game “clues” where the story would be involved and allowing for game play to be more engaging. Weather they were scribed on the wall or in scripture in the pyramid I would have like to be a little more into the “research” within the pyramid. There were just some places that there just didn’t seem like there was a connection presented in game to what I was having to do until after I was doing it.I like the game play though I feel the navigation, where you click to move forward, turning and looking around could be smoother. Overall I would highly recommend this game to someone that wants a challenge and a solid experience. Thank you for putting up the game and I look forward to playing more. Also more than happy to be a tester for any new projects you have. Cheers Dave and crew.
